I have the boy body. It came really well strung, and it's a decent poser. The arms and especially the wrists can be a bit fiddly sometimes but overall I like it a lot. The best part though is the way it looks, it's one of the only boy bodies out there that doesn't look like he spends every day at the gym, the muscles are just right, it's natural, subtle, and slim, and I love it.

@Viivi no problem! I think is slouches very well, it's probably the best sloucher in my collection.

Does anybody have any idea if their tan is close to tan of other companies?
I adore the 61cm body and I'd love to have it in tan.

 

@werelyan I havent seen any owner pics of their tan resin, but I have a tan doll on order. Unfortunately, I don't have any other tan dolls to compare it to, but I'll take pics once it gets here.

I realize this question is super old, but yeah. They actually do have heel feet. I just don't know if any of their dealers offer them. It's on their website.

I got my tan girl in a few weeks ago! I have no other tan dolls to compare it with, but I tried adjusting this photo to reflect how she looks in real life as closely as I could. It matches on my computer, but of course, it may look a little different based on your monitor.



She doesn't have a face yet, but she's still cute.

 

I'm considering getting a green skin Murphy one day. I think he'll fit nicely in with my Iplehouse boys. I'm not gonna mod him but I think he'll make a great alien human hybrid character with that green skin.

I'm really curious how the Murphy head size compare to Iplehouse SD head sizes.

 

Anyone know when the next Gem of Dolls website sale is? I realize I just missed a sale in February-March, but I only recently saw how great their body posing is! I am interested in buying one of their dolls, but I am waiting for another sale!

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Iplehouse SD heads and Gem of Doll heads range around the 21cm range? Seems pretty proportional. However, Gem of Dolls have very thin necks. The 1/3 male body has a 9cm circumference neck. I think Iplehouse necks are 11cm+ approximately. Murphy may look bobble headed because of it. Might work especially well for an alien actually.

I'm not sure. They have sales when new dolls come out, and they've had a lot of new dolls come out this spring... but they do sales relatively regularly, so mayyyybe mid-to-late summer? That's my guess anyway!

She looks great! I have a Melantha and I find her sculpt to just go well with everything I put on her. Every single wig, pair of eyes, and clothing looks amazing on her! ^_^

For some reason I've stopped getting notifications on this thread??? On a similar note, I feel a little bad for spamming my girl, but I just did a summer time photo shoot for Magnolia and it's probably the best photo I've taken with my phone, haha

I'm enjoying mine obviously lol. I only can speak regarding the 002 girl body, but she feels very solid overall. There's not really a lot of reviews out there of them unfortunately. There's a great review by CapricornMakes on Youtube for their 1/4 scale.

 

I just bought a Murphy fullset secondhand and ordered a Karben fullset, and I'm so excited.

I finally did it....I purchase my FIRST DOLL and it is a GEM OF DOLL Fimbulwinter Gals! Such a weird name but he is gorgeous and I wanted the full set and I AM SO EXCITED!

 

I have a Gem of Doll Brock fullset and I can attest to the great quality of these dolls. Body is solid and poses well. The faceup is incredibly detailed and beautiful, as is her fullset outfit. Communication with the company is a little sketchy but I’ve never had an issue. The dolls are superb and the clothes are just incredible... I’m suprised there isn’t more interest in this company! In any case, enjoy your doll and congrats!!

 

Thank you!! I have a feeling he is going to feel MASSIVE...I currently only have MH and Jem dolls and the like, so I feel like it's going to be a bit of a shock. I have held up a tape measure, but it's still hard to imagine a doll this big lol I hear shipping waiting time is the biggest ish in this hobby, but I buy customs so I am prepared for a wait ^-^

I just looked up Brock and was expecting a boy doll. This company names are hilarious in a way...but Brock is lovely. So far Gem of Doll are the ones that have me hook line and sinker...but I think it's the styling. I lovelove fantasy and whimsy.

 

can confirm the boy dolls are heavy. I wanna say the newer male body is heavier than the old. I know it's significantly taller and with more defined musculature.

 

Can anyone here tell me if the girl body's neck is really 8.3cm? I want to get their newest 1/3rd girl but on a taller body so I'm looking at my body options
