YAY! The swap project that has been keeping me super busy is now in the mail! So that means that I can get back to working on Allesta now! Along with my BBB body I've been modding. lol. I still can't wait to have Allesta finished!

That's good to hear Ayas-Shadow! It's always great to see other Nabiyas and how people work on them to make them truly theirs.
I have to repeat myself, I'm sooo in love with my little Hachiko, she's so beautiful and just stands out of any BJD crowd so easily. I'm a little torn about Nabiya's popularity level, on one side I'm sad that she's not more popular because she's just such a gorgeous sculpt, but on the other side I'm happy that my girl is just that special.

Hachiko thanks you for the compliment, pinkandyellow! And I must say, that new grey wig really suits Im very well, it goes great with her skin colour! I also love how she changes her outfit for every picture, my girl still has only two dresses...
In other news, I think I'm ready to redo Hachiko's faceup, the shoddy MSC coating and those damn uneven eyelashes really get me worked up every time I look at her lol.
Oh and welcome to a very special thread little-reisuke! You have made a good decision to bring a Nabiya home, they are truly beautiful!

If I'm right, only Popo and Nabi Kiss have been discontinued. The human and elf Nabiya, and Nabiyette Ashley does in ordering rounds/periods. I'm sure if you PM her here on DoA she'll be happy to give you any information you need to order one of her lovely girls!

Meanwhile, look, guys! I got a pic that shows my little storm spirit's charm really well. Now I need to find her the stormcloud necklace I've been wanting her to have forever.

 

Allesta has her additive mods in place, and waiting to be sanded and carved into looking good! but she had to be put on the back burner for a little while. Had my hubby's grandmother in from Australia (yeah, that's a LONG trip to make!) and now I'm trying desperately to get an outfit completed for my Planetdoll girl before a meet on Sunday! But once I get some housework done next week, I plan to go back to her to finish the additive mods! Then I'll...I don't know...drape her in fabric, or steal the clothes from one of the other minis, or something, to photograph her to show off again!

Ok ok, here's some quick spam of my girl Natasha. d: I haven't done a proper photoshoot with her yet actually, but here's a shot from when a friend of mine and I took her to the local toy store and played with some of the displays there.

So, I'm pretty excited - I took some time to work on Natasha last night. First off, gave her bangs a trim since they were a bit uneven. Then I decided to restring her - I used a thicker elastic in her legs plus sueded them with moleskin. Next I tightened the string in her arms and wired them. What an amazing difference. She stands solid as a rock now (she was already good at standing on her own, but now she feels more sturdy) and can even stand on one leg by herself. The wiring in her arms makes her very poseable and much better about holding poses. I'm very pleased with how well the mods came out. Next, I'm working on adding a bit to the faceup she came with - going to re-do her eyelashes, but in the meantime I've already added some pink on her cheeks and reddened up her lips - will add gloss once the MSC has had a chance to sit over-night. I'll post more pictures soon!

Chillaxing after a busy day... there was a crazy summer storm that lasted only a few minutes, but boy did it wipe Im out. She loves her job. I just wish I could have managed to get a few shots of her in it!

I probably won't get her because she doesn't suit the style of the rest of my MSDs, the character I'd have in mind for her is very much a modern girl and the others are all fantastical and old-fashioned, but god I love her kissy face!!!!! I'd love this character, I have this thing about beauty queen teen idols and I can just see her being that sort of 'bitchy' no-nonsense teen. Can't you just see her pouting into a camera!

And I love she's available in light tan, I love that light tan and I wish more companies offered a similar coloured resin. The light tan thing makes this so much harder.

I'm going to look through some more and enjoy everyones pictures. Oh I wish I could just buy every doll I fancied, I hate being ruthless (when it comes to dolls anyway).

 

We need some human light tan spam! Quick, Zomboid! We must convince Bron! XD

 

Bron: Why couldn't you make a Nabiya a modern, bitchy girl if you wanted to? Just because all the others currently being shown are more sweet, or old fashioned, or fantasy based? Get your girl, and make her what you want her to be! I KNOW the sculpt can pull it off! And it'd be AWESOME to see a Nabiya that was more of a modern teen!

 

Oh no, I mean all of my other MSDs (5 if you count the incoming ones) are the same 'style' and live in the same sort of fantasy world, my 6th being a modern 21st century teen girl will look odd next to them. That's what I'm worried about

The only SD on my wants list I'm planning to have a similar modern style, but even then she'll look odd next to an iplehouse SD.

I just don't know how to make her fit ):

I'm sure the sculpt can pull it off too, she's young looking but has those sultry shaped eyes and of course the lips She screams trouble to me, in a good way.

All I can think is dressing her in runway couture type clothes, more ornate and outlandish. At least the ornate style will suit the others.

The more I think about it the more I want her though lol. Probably won't be for a while, I still have a doll in desperate need of finishing, and two more dolls on the way who will also need work as they're coming blank and whatnot. When they're done and I feel less guilty about spending more money on BJDs I'll seriously think about it then. In the meantime, I'll think about aesthetics and pick out potential eyes and wigs and inspirational couture.

I don't have any other MSDs, but here she is with almost all of my dolls. I think she fits fairly good with my group!

I've been thinking more about her the past few days. I just know when my other dolly projects are complete I'm going to be quickly thinking about starting another, and she's going to be REALLY tempting for the next MSD. Which is bad!! How do I make her fit!!

Hachiko is beautiful. I really do have a thing about LT resin lol.

Well maybe I can pull her in using Renwick, she's old fashioned like the others but likes wearing leather trousers and platform boots. I think i'm working out a way to get her in my dolly family, which is also bad, why am I mentally buying more dolls haha.

 

Guh, Zomboid. Guh. Hachiko just keeps on getting more gorgeous. Im is sitting with me right now, and looking at her... it's so cool how entirely different she looks from Hachiko. Such a versatile sculpt.

 

It really is a versatile sculpt, I love seeing the very different things people have done with their Nabiyas.

I love Im's shiny eyes, they and her hair really suit her whole storm spirit thing. She looks like she could create lightening. She's seems young and tempestuous, like storm behaviour. And I love how attached you are to her! You two have a bond.

 

Does she have to fit in? My dolls don't fit together...I have like 15 (17?) and I have two trios, one duo, and the others are all loners. :3

 

The characters don't have to fit, like I'm pretty sure Carmen and Virginia would never meet Fallow and Renwick if they were 'real', it's their aesthetics that I like to fit.

My current girls styles are long the lines of;

So compromise is a sort of modern fairytale style? Like Alexander McQueen, but kind of a lot more casual. Renwicks style is very Alexander McQueen anyway, so my Nabiya might look fine with her. That's what I'm hoping.

I just got my girl yesterday a purchase from Ebay...thinking I might keep her wig like in the photo, but definitely will be changing her eyes, of course that will also depend on what color I end up dyeing her..tee hee. I love the slight difference between the Bobobie and Resinsoul bodies compared to this one, adds a nice new body type to the crew.

lol...very true I had debated for a while on getting one, I really wanted to get one of their bodies in the green for my current RS doll Hederyx, but never got around to it...I was never quite certain about those kissy lips of Nabiya, but she just looked to cute so I couldn't resist.

aw thanks...I really did plan on sticking to my list (yay right like that ever happens) and not get any new dolls but well dolls happen..lol
