Found a fun surprise at our local girl scour garage sale- a whole wooden dollhouse! It's big too, 2-3 feet tall, abouts. It's... super dirty, and'll need a deep clean, maybe some new paint. The back panel is coming off, too. You can see how grimey the white paint has gotten. It must have been left in someones basement for a long while to get this nasty. Ew. Here you can see the back panel coming off. You can also see how rough the doorframes and windows are. Theyre super bumpy, and theres tons of dust stuck on it. It'll need to be sanded... Here it is after a surface clean, with miss Maple (dollleaves mint) for scale. Still a lot of work to do ;w; I want to change the color of the walls, and maybe add a 'hard wood' floor, but i can't do anything until all of the dirt is gone and the back is fixed. We gotta clean before we can do the fun stuff! Even beyond the house itself, there's a ton of work to do with furnishing it. I haven't made much doll furniture aside from a couch for my 1/6 hujoo dolls, so i'm jumping in almost completely blind. Wish me luck! ^^
I'm tryin! Today i sanded down the rough parts and got supplies for a new paint job + 'hardwood' flooring. Not sure if I'll keep working today since i'm super sleepy, though =>.<= Tommorow is the start of a new school week for me, so it's uncertain how much free time I'll have until next weekend. I want this done as soon as possible, so i don't lose interest, and so that i can start on furniture and the like.
That doll house deserves to be finished. It looks like it has not been used yet. I am trying to use my ufo craft projects here too. So many years just sitting in boxes unappreciated. It's just sad. You go! It's fun to look forward to a finishing project!
sorry for no updates! I've been super busy with school, so it's been slow going. I've gotten paint and the like, but I'll need to move it either outside or into the garage to actually get to painting, and i can't lift the house on my own, so i'm at the whims of my younger brother ;w;
ah, she's not a littlefee! Like it says in the post, she's from DollLeaves, the sculpt is named 'Mint' :3
This is a big project! Rather than painting, you can glue on paper like wallpaper instead. Then you can use placements for carpets if you'd like. This video is rather long winded, but she goes in depth on how she used found materials- Huge BJD dollhouse update ep.1, BJD diorama, BJD collection. - YouTube
