I got a wild hair recently and made up a pattern for a “frothy” dress for my Feeple60 gals. I’ve got so much fabric in my stash that using some of it up on some whimsical dresses seemed like a fun thing to do. Here are my Feeple60 gals - in the new frothy dresses that I made for them. All of the bodices are satin, lined in batiste. Most have a silk ribbon at the waist. All have fitted cuffs - so the hands have to be removed to don the dress. The skirts and sleeves are mesh fabric. I did embroidery on some of the bodices. The gals all wear alpaca or angora hardcap wigs and urethane eyes. Three have Fairyland face paint; tan Chloe was painted by the amazing VittaVera. first the quartet - in various dresses as it turned out, River (tan Ria) did all the modeling for the dresses during construction - she was only wearing a nightgown when I started! ivory sparkle white pale pink - this mesh fabric was not stretchy bubblegum pink rhinestone studded mesh fabric - this sparkles so beautifully in the sun! then I put a crinoline I’d previously made under the heavy skirt! this gives quite a different effect for the dress! and one last pic - of the quartet again: Thanks for looking!
Pretty! Style reminds me of Romeo & Juliet a little. I think the blue with beige is my favorite, never would have thought of that combo!
I love the sparkle one! (I kinda wants it but Feeple65 Leetah is probably too big for it, she is a big mama.) I feel like the dresses are kind of timeless - someone might use them for medieval, someone else might use them for more of a Bridgerton era.
Wow - what a lovely idea! You feel like you are back in a romantic time. Please more of these ideas ^_^ Thanks for sharing
I got rather busy and have been really slow in responding to your wonderful compliments - sorry…. Thanks @juni-fee ! Thanks so much @babezoid !! I was pleasantly surprised by how the turquoise worked too! Thanks lots @jessholy !! That jeweled fabric turned out so well - but what a job it was removing the crystals from the seams and reattaching them afterward!!! Thanks so much @Agnes-Agatha !! Thanks lots @JL_The_Lion ! these dresses were rather a ‘wild hair’ of mine! Most of the time I seem to sew more ‘period’ dresses. I do think a lot of the period clothing is more ‘romantic’ than the modern sort of clothing.
