I have my MSC in a pait pot...that is, a glass jar with a lid. I bought it like that, instead of in a spary can. I'm wondering if it's possible to transfer it from the paint pot to a spray bottle. I realise it would have to be mixed well before I did it, however, it is very thick since it's meant to be used with a paint brush. Is there a safe way to cut it to make it thinner without making it weaker? Perhaps with water or alcohol?
Oh wow, where did you get it in bottle form? that would be such a godsend for those of us overseas who can't import is because spraycans are a forbidden item in postage. I have to buy my testors dullcote in bottle form too because I can't get teh spraycans posted to me. What the miniatures painters here do with their testors is thin it with the correct solvent for the product and airbrush it on. a spray bottle will not work well at all. they are not designed to project the tiny droplets needed for an even and delicate covering. So you need either spray can or airbrush. (maybe you know someone who is into other hobbies and has an airbrush?)
Most hobby shops carry an inexpensive beginners airbrush that uses cans of compressed air instead of having to buy a compressor. ^_~
Pirate Wench: I got it from a mall in Toronto...I guess that's not really much help to you though :/ Thanks for the replies, I might have created a disaster
that canned compressed air and cheap airbrush sounds like an idea for people to have a go. If anyone knows of an online store that sells MSC in bottle form please let me know. I'd liek to try it and compare to the bottled testors I use
I got mine from a store called Kurame hobby.....I don't know if they have a web site, but they have many stores in thier chain, so I don't see why they wouldn't ops:
