Hi! I have just started drafting and sketching for my first BJD that I plan to make, a little fawn. Not a fawn like the mythical creature, but the animal itself as an anthro. I have sculpted miniature animals but never a doll made of many pieces. So here I go! I'm going to document my progress here, though all I have is drawings so far. For my birthday this year, I asked my grandma to fund this project so I don't have all of my materials yet. (She might think art supplies are boring as gifts, but I think it's the best gift) My goal is to make a small (but not teeny-tiny, closer to pipos size, maybe a bit smaller) deer anthro doll that looks as cute as it does in my head. I love cute things, so to be able to hold one of my drawings in my hands would be amazing. Here is my design for Frisper at the moment: View attachment 331 I don't know exactly how I will make my joints, so I'm sure they will not look exactly like this, but it's is how I want the doll to be proportioned, and how I want the face to look. Let me know what you think of my design! And I'll be back soon with more drafts, a turnaround, etc. my goal is to finish a year from now! If you have any tips for someone getting started, feel free, I need help!
It's really super cute. I like the sketch. Have you drawn the sideview too? Can't wait to see the beginnings of it!
I have a sketch of the side view, but it's not ready for viewing yet! :p I am probably going to adjust some things. I am planning on making the doll the exact size of the drawing I have now, and that is about a head shorter than my pipos. I only have three dolls, two are anthro, so I am looking at them for reference, but I plan on making my joints pretty simple.
I decided to make an attempt at sculpting with 3d software, this was my first try! Sadly, it got deleted so I only have this picture. It took me about an hour to get to this point on the head. View attachment 332
