Hakama tutorial How to Make Hakama Pants (with Pictures) - wikiHow Kimono Zero waste Kimono Pattern, by Franki Campbell These will take sewing knowledge as you will have to measure and adjust to fit your doll. On the plus side, they are completely legal, and you can adjust them to fit any size doll.
thanks for the links. the kimono looks fairly easy to figure out how big to make it on the doll. do you know if there was a picture of the hakama on somoone to figure out how big to make it as well?
For the hakama, fold the pleats so its fits slight shorter around the waist. There should be a gap (about 1 cm) between the front and the back part when you tie it on. Say your doll's waist is 20 cm then make the front 9cm and the back 8 cm (for hakama, the backside is smaller than the front^^) I'll recommend testing out the pattern with paper towels and adjusting as you go!
@auntbear, here you are, these should help. http://www.kyudo.com/hakama.gif http://www.hakamas.com/uploads/tying_a_hakama_1.gif
When my martial arts master was tying his hakama, he'd hold the ends of the back ties in his teeth while he tied the front ties, then he'd tie the back ties in front. Obviously you can't do that with a doll, but you could pin them in place while you tie the front ties.
Thanks for sharing. There are a lot of great full size kimono tutorials that will show you how this is supposed to be done. I just added a tiny tuck for the back two seams that would be there so I didn't have to finish extra edges
Thank you so much for the pattern. I recently purchased a really nice fabric that I wanted to use to make a kimono. Now I'll just have to figure out the size.
So cool! Thanks for sharing, I love kimonos on dolls but only had patterns to fit 1/6 dolls & Blythe until now
@HeavensChaos @auntbear @Sirri I'm not sure if this is the original, but I think it would be quite helpful: CLICK ME
Thank you a lot. I will definitely apply an old scientific saying: If you find something usefull or interesting on the Internet, better save it right away before it disappears.
I used the link Holstein posted and threw together a Yukata. As it was a practice run, I decided to use fabric, where I wouldn't mind messing up. The end result reminds so much of a hot spring yukata or hotel yukata Holly_Yukata by Uli Merker, auf Flickr
It's a pity those links don't work anymore, it's hard to find patterns that you can use without worrying about copyright issues
Link in first topic is missing. But this link is still OK. Thank you for your sharing. I insert this pattern in this post. Hopefully, someone can see and use it ^^
I'd also really appreciate the hakama pattern if anyone has it still. I've tried looking for other patterns but none are intuitive to follow at all...
The link to the hakama pattern is broken again - did anyone save this image? Kimono link is still sound.
Appreciate you sharing this! I've made several kimono patterns, but scaling them down to SD size has been a challenge. Hopefully this will give a little more to work with. Now to find fabric with smaller scale patterns...
