He's home. He's finished! FINALLY! Really, you guys, this is by far the greatest package I ever got. Buying a doll is fun. Making your own and then getting it in the mail, is ten times better! For more pictures and information, please visit: freakstylebjd.deviantart.com.
Wow he turned out great, let us know when you get him a face and finished. Very handsome smile there.
OMG he looks amazzzingggg!!! Even better than the wip photos, I'm kinda blown away *0*. That resin looks gorgeous and alive too, wow. Did he shrink from the original at all? Just curious. Congrats on him! I can imagine how awesome it must feel Also there's a typo in your DA link, just jtlyk.
Oh my goddess, he is so beautiful! Congratulations on finishing this beautiful boy!!! I cannot WAIT to see him painted!
@wyverngem: Yeah, I'll post pictures as soon as he has returned from the face-up artist (I couldn't paint to safe my life). I can't wait to see what she's going to do with him. @crowtree: Thank you so much! The resin is amazing. I just love how it glows and he's so heavy! He did shrink, yes. The master was a little taller and the casting company had to make a resin version of this master, before they could start molding, because they had trouble with the LaDoll clay. I think in total, he's about a centimeter shorter than he used to be. And thanks for the typo-hint. I've corrected it. @Aminoff: Thank you so much for the congrats! Gosh, I still can't believe I finally did it. It's been a project of epic proportions.
wow silk, he is wonderful! i love his face - half trouble-making smirk, half gentle smile - so many possibilities. congratulations on a great sculpt!!
@Nu123: Thank you! @karlyl: Yeah, I'm so happy! His details are much softer than his clay version; just the way I wanted it. @patl: I'm happy with how versatile he is, because there is this idea that you can't do much with smiling faces. It was something I was worried about, when I sculpted him, but in the end, I'm glad I didn't go for a more neutral face.
Congratulations! You've been working on him for a long time, and he looks fantastic. I love his smile.
He looks fantastic! His features are so soft and smooth, and I love his smile. I can't wait to see him with a face-up.
@ghostdollie: Glad you like him, thank you! @Lelite: Oh yeah! Including all the breaks I took, it took me almost 4 years, to build this body and give it the right head. But in the mean time I did learn everything and right now I have no longer trouble sculpting heads, I've developed my own style and my knowledge of anatomy has improved a lot since. @Morgan: Thanks! @Cyrrus25: The heads are on their way to the face-up artist now, so I can't wait either!
Congrats! This is great news. What company did you get him made from? He looks really professional. Looking forward to the faceupped pictures ^^
Congrats! I've been following his progress, and it's great to see him all cast and done. That resin looks gorgeous by the way
Wow. He looks beyond amazing in the resin. Fabulous! I can see how getting him in the mail was awesome! Who did you go with for casting him?
Thanks guys! @cloudedmind: *starts singing weird songs after drinking one glass* (I can't tolerate alcohol that well... or maybe alcohol tolerates me a little too well, lol). @Devilfloss: I never thought I'd think I like environmental resin this much, but it's absolutely gorgeous. It glows so softly. @Jphobia, mewiefish and IamSeraPlz: Weiju casted him for me. They're awesome and really professional.
Thanks! And yeah, it's great (and a little weird) to see him with eyebrows and everything. I can't wait to get him home and put him on a body with eyes and wig and see what he looks like when he's completely done up. The package should arrive next week.
Don't they? And she's a pleasure to work with too. I highly recommend her. Both heads have come home today! Here they are, complete with wig, eyes, a body and some clothes.
OH MY GODDESS, he is so beautiful! Absolutely adorable! Kjsbdfkjbjwer, I'm out of words. Such a beautiful doll you've made, silk! He looks so gentle in one photo, yet slightly miscievious in the last one. Really cool to see!
@Aminoff: Thanks! I really, really like both of the face-ups. Although their colour schemes are more or less the same, they show a completely different personality. @Meggs: Thank you. And good luck with your doll. I'm sure it's going to look fantastic.
HE is really fantastic and so charming. what a guy! great face and expression and attention to details!
O, wow, I completely didn't see your reply. Thank you so much for the compliments . Below are the first company pictures. Next step: dressing him up! (hopefully I can take those photo's tomorrow)
