Warning Fraudulent Buyer! Beware

May 7, 2005

1. I had checked to see if he was still on there! :barf And was just about to post the same thing! (now i have to be sure to tell my friends on there to stop any communication with this person ASAP - TOTAL weirdo, who's a disgrace to the goth/newbie community.)

My heart goes out to anyone who had the great misfortune of dealing with this person. >.<;;; If I ever see shim/it/thing, I'll be sure to kick the snot out of them.
I hope they catch this mofo (begging pardon) soon. Judging at the rate s/he's going, they're a pro and could soon steal the Eiffel Tower. -_-

2. i know this quote is from a long time ago, and someone might've already said something about this, but i have a voice changer phone that i got to play pranks on my friends (XD; ). i used it once when i first got it to call a friend, with the voice changer set on low (male voice) and they had no idea it was me. once i told them that it was me and i was just using a voice changer, they couldn't believe it, they thought it was just some gay friend of mine XD;
so the person you talked to could very well be female.

3. I have to agree with you there.
They DID have a voice changer listed as one of the items they stole on Ebay with one of their fraudulent accounts.
I suspected this a while ago.

4. That 's really awful!!!!
Y the FxxK he still can running around and stealing stuffs!!!!
That's really upset me!

5. he sounded very femme to me with a hint of male

6. Uh Oh...I hate to be the one to say this, but thats probably not his real name.

Elizabeth Bathory (The bloody Duchess/Baroness) was supposed to be the first recorded human-turned-vampire. I believe she was originally from Austria/Hungary. She believed blood gave you eternal youth-the story goes that she struck her maid for catching her ear with a hairpin, and broke her nose in a vicious temper.
The blood spattered on her face...when she wiped it away she thought the skin looked more beautiful. She had dozens of poorer women and young girls from the surrounding villages hired as maidservants-each and every one was slaughtered and their bodies were found stacked in one of her masnion's turrets, rotting away...apparently she bathed in their blood. She was executed, some believe she was insane, some she was evil, others she was a true vampire.

It makes sense that someone who loves Anne Rice novels and Vampirism (I went through that in my teens) would know of Elizabeth Bathory. Look her up on a search engine. Or in the Buffy companion novels, 'Tales of the Slayer' as in this fiction story a slayer meets the Countes/Baroness Bathory.

He's not doing well at conning other vampire enthusiasts....the names Bathory and the countries Austria and Hungary are too much of a coincidence! Im sure I know Gavin from something as well...let me consult my books!

*runs off the the dusty old box where Sabine Baring-Gould and Anne Rice reside....*

7. I'm not exactly an expert Bella-san, but unless that shirt is shown backwards, I'm not thinking that's the one stolen from wickedstitchery. If you examine the stolen shirt, it has a column of red running down the front, if I'm not mistaken. This one doesn't. But that doesn't mean anything.

P.S. My heart goes out to all of you who have dealt with this monster. When karma comes to bite it in the ***, I'm going to laugh.

Edit: Hold it! Check the descriptions of the outfits! A pair of black baggy pants with red straps is noted, as is a dress shirt. The pants sound like wickedstitchery's outfit, and someone might want to check on that shirt to see if matches a dress shirt mentioned earlier in the thread.

8. I think it is the outfit, it looks to me that the shirt is inside out, yup and since it mentions the pants 'black baggy pants with red bondage straps' I really do think its the outfit...

9. Also wanted to point out that though the angles of the pictures are different, the doll in THIS post and the doll in the auction look very very similar.

10. it's totally the same shirt inside out, was this a one of a kind outfit or were others made? I would hate to see some new seller being lynched without definate proof

11. Kudos to Crescent_P for noting what I didn't. That shirt does look like the one stolen, just inside out. I think we've found our jerkwad again. >>

Edit: Wickedstitchery said it was a one-of-a-kind piece, if I'm not mistaken, so I doubt this is some poor, innocent newbie Pirate-san.

12. ok scratch that previous attempt at being fair and hoping for the best,

quoted from the ebay auction for the doll "I ACCEPT MONEY ORDERS, CASHIER CHECKS AND PERSONAL CHECKS ONLY! NO PAYPAL! NO ESCROW, COD OR LOCAL PICKUP DUE TO SECURITY REASONS."

this reeks of scam

13. It reeks of jerk as well. Hopefully this'll be the time it's caught...

14. Yup Wickedstitchery did say it was a one-of-a-kind piece and if anyone see's it please contact him
T_T people like that piss me off big time ><
Edit: I just Pm'ed Wicked about it dont know if anyone has done so already

15. Wow.. I can't believe this is still going on. >_< People like this need to be shot -- is there really nothing anyone can do to put a stop to this person? :/ Aa, gotta love the justice system in this country.

16. OMG.
Thank you to Cresent for PMing me.
THIS IS THE SET STOLEN FROM ME!!!
The shirt is the only piece pictured and is in fact right side out. The red stitching was meant to be seen, but the rest of the outfit IS described as being included with the doll (a doll which could ALSO be stolen for all we know).

Please let everyone know that this is the same buyer who was stealing from our DOA folks in the past clearly under a new name.
The bastard!!!

17. From the listing: The bolded pieces are MINE.

Up for auction is this beautiful super dollfie plus assescories. I am not including all of the photos in the auction, so by request I will e-mail you them. He is a average super dollfie ball jointed doll. Pale skinned, brown glass eyes, copper red waist length red hair, comes to you in a gold lutz box with his own satin sleeping pillow. Here is what is included:
1 Copper Red Wig
1 Complete Dollfie
1 Satin pillow
1 Gold box
2 Pairs of shoes, mary janes and wing tips.
3 Pairs of pants, black baggy pants with red bondage straps, khaki cargo pants with camo accents, black dress pants with silver accents.
4 shirts, black t-shirt, black turtleneck sweater, black fishnet shirt with red trimming on the neck, waist and arms by the wrists, black button up tuxedo dress shirt.
1 pair of pleather shorts lace up the sides.
1 pair of thigh high striped socks.
and a black carrying case.

18. Yep, I did notice the pants in the aucton description. That was the clincher that prompted me to post. Maybe it thought no one would notice, since the shirt was inside out and the pants weren't shown. >_<

19. Just wanted to let you guys know that I did contact the seller who offered to remove the auction and send ther outfit back to me. She says the outfit was purchased from a "Gaveen" and that she didn't know it was stolen.
Now I am not sure if this is just "Gaven" playing dumb to sell the doll under a different name, seeing the track record, I wouldn't put it past them. However, I did reply saying that I would feel wrong taking the outfit back from her if she paid money for it unknowingly, but that we should talk more about how to solve this issue.
At this point I don't need the outfit back, but if there is someone else who may buy it once I got it back, who knows.
I'll keep you guys updated as things happen and again, I greatly appreciate you guys making me aware of this.

20. O: Oh good! I recognised it too and was about to PM you. Something fishy about the auction past that though...:\ like the fact that he's listed as a super dollfie and not a Dean, but then they may not know that...

Anyway, glad your getting your outfit back! ^___^

21. .... and that the doll was a gift, but they could not keep it. And that they will only take totally untraceable and irreversable methods of payment, and that it is a 0 feedback seller, if they bought that outfit where did they buy it from?

too many fishy things

22. Exactly.
She claims to have bought the outfit from Gaveen, but where if not on Ebay?

23. What a son of a....

He doesn't even elaborate on what kind of "super dollfie type doll" it is. It makes me think he just stole and doesn't even know. 'Gift' ....yeah, right. :P
Wicked, hope that you all can get him this time! >_<

24. Knows enough to know just about what's it's worth, though, and is throwing in all the outfits and shoes because.. well, you can do that if they were "free." Also, any legitimate person with half an ounce of sense, even a first-time seller who had just fallen over eBay, would know enough to photograph all the items they're actually selling... which just makes me think that all the items are stolen and they don't want them identified.

People put a lot of crappy pictures on eBay.. but not for $600 items.

25. Reading this just reinforces my decision to never use E-bay... But do you know what company the card is? It's almost beyond belief that they woulnd't pick up on this, but you never know... I think many outraged e-mails (with documentation) might kick their lazy butts into action against the cardholder. There is no way that someone would keep the same card if someone else charged to it for as long as and as many times as this.

Hugs to everyone who's trust has been violated by this slime from under a rock.

26. Tro-chan... eBay wasn't always like this. I remember just a few years ago, i got dragooned into selling a bunch of clothing for my mother. When the auctions were over, i just packed up the orders and shipped them out right away, because i knew the buyers could be trusted to pay in a timely fashion. And out of 40+ sweaters, no one missed a payment or was even late.

(okay, so one person paid only for standard shipping and i ended up putting them all out priority. buy hey, bonus for her.)

There's always going to be people who take advantage of any good situation, sadly... but you have to be a real bottom-feeder to prey on small companies and individual artisans.

27. I got the pictures of the other items. Will post when i get home and/or after getting in touch with wickedstichery.

28. Wow! And Hitsu's outfit too!

29. Well... that's not the shirt that was stolen from me. I had a dress shirt stolen, but the dress shirt in question had black buttons. But I don't think I ever got a delivery confirmation on the item, so it could be the ONE ITEM in all of my selling history that didn't make it to the buyer! isn't it ironic? XD

30. Okay, what? The seller put the auction back up again, but I have to wonder if she/he is really planning to send the outfits that were stolen back. See here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5664684523

As you can see, Wicked's outfit is still listed in the description and so is MY OUTFIT (last picture there) which i would very much like to get back. I'm contacting the seller right now in hopes they'll be reasonable. *crosses fingers*

31. I really hope that person dose the right thing and gives back the outfit that were stolen. If not then I dont know what to say but may something in life bites them in the butt hard

32. I did write to Ebay letting them know that the goods in the auction were indeed stolen via previous Ebay auctions.
Of coarse Ebay sent me their stock reply "Please do not reply to this message. We will look into the issue. thank you for writing! Blah blah".
So I doubt they will do anything.

33. H'mm... re-listing the auction with more pictures makes it look like (IMHO) that this person is just anxious to get rid of the outfits and doll ASAP... either that or (and I'm assuming this person is the person who stole the items, by the way) they are hoping to do a last scam before getting caught again...

I hope you guys get your stuff back.

34. The cheek of some people! It sound like this person is stealing for the thrill, and dont care if they get caught. I know a boy who used to live with me who was like that. I hope something is done about this.

35. yah, what's really screwed up is her absolute DEMANDS on payment...and notice how she says whe won't take paypal.....she knows the ins and outs of paypals flaws....(hence why i NEVER sell using paypal...always money orders, no room for theft there)
i wrote to ebay, and left her mailing address with them, and sited DOA as a source for the ins and outs of what happens when this individual buys and sells...

Jordan-Mykal

36. I also went into Ebay, and into the community and started posting warnings about this individual....i hope we can stop the theft.....i hope they go to prison, and end up being Bubba's butt monkey...

LoL

Jordan-Mykal

37. Thank you Jordan.
I think tonight I will be writing back to the detective in San Antonio to follow up on the case as obviously, nothing was done about it.
I gave the San Antonio computer crimes dept AND Ebay, AND Paypal all the contact info including the mailing address the stolen items were shipped to, the credit card info that the purchase was made with, photos of the stolen items etc.
They ALL have everything they need to bust this scammer and they have done nothing.
Now this other person is trying to make money off it?
This is just BS.

38. Have you tried giving all that information to an investigative reporter?

Several news channels have done stories on the rampant fraud on ebay, and hearing that months down the line ebay has still not corrected this particular problem and the police department seemingly can't, makes for great tv. They might be interested in lending a hand if you send them detailed info.

I think MSNBC has been the most exhaustive on the issue:
NBC - http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3038441/

39. Not a bad idea...oddly, I was thinking the very same thing the other night when the outfits re-surfaced on Ebay so many months later.

40. Update: Apparently the seller has ended the auction AND is no longer a registered user at Ebay. She did tell me she would send the outfit back, but I hadn't sent her my address yet and frankly, I'm highly doubtful she would have done so anyway. I'm fairly convinced that this seller is the original theif and did not (as they claim) recieve the doll and items from someone else.

Well... whatever they case, this person seems likely to resurface again, so be on guard for ebay accounts with zero feedback. Maybe they'll try to sell the stuff again through ebay in the future, though they must be catching on that this is community is tightly knit enough to where someone is going to reconize the stolen goods.

41. Thanks for the update Hitsu.
They haven't written my back yet either and last I saw, they had the auction re-listed.
Ebay must have listened to my email for once she they are no longer registared.

42. actually, from what i see, EBAY ended the auction.....IF the seller ends the auction early, it tells you that the seller ended the auction.....if EBAY ends it, the auction just VANISHES...considering they are no longer a REGISTERED user under that name, that means that EBAY canceled their account.....You personally cannot cancel your ebay account, you can just stop using it....
but it is technically still active, which means that you can still recieve messages, people can look at your feedback, etc. If Ebay cancels your account, it is like the name never existed.

Jordan-Mykal

43. Let us be glad that we are currently not as big a community as we'd like to be.....if we were, we would not NEARLY be able to stop stuff like this, or prevent or warn others from having things stolen from them......Like for existence.....can you imagine trying to track down stolen collector BARBIE DOLLS??!! WHEW!!! I pray usually that we get bigger.....:eusa_pray , but it is times like this that i am glad we are not, so we can go kick ass on theives who wrong us! :aninja:

44. I was talking to a girl the other day on yahoo messenger, about Megacon, and the subject of BJD's came up......it just so happened that this girl had also been a victim of fraud.....she had saved for nearly a YEAR and a HALF, just to get a Volks Dollfie, and she sent the money to the guy, via paypal, and the man took her money, and never sent the doll....
BUT, a wonderufully sweet note to this.....a bunch of BJD collectors in her area heard about what happened to her, pooled together, and all of her buds pitched in, to help her get the dollfie she had originally wanted, that she had been saving for!!

Isn't that ROCKIN'?!! :D

• x 1
45. Awww! That has to be the sweetest thing I've heard yet!
It's so nice to know that there are people willing to help make the situation a little better for someone who'd been wronged like that.

46. Yah...i thought it was awesome....u know, there are prolly enough members of DOA, that if that every happened to anyone here, that if each person just gave one dollar, that individual could get a new dollfie :) LOL

it's awesome to know that people help each other :)

:D

Jordan-Mykal

47. If she sent the money thru Paypal and the seller never sent the doll, why couldn't she get her money back from Paypal?

48. Honestly, the girl might not have known or was given so many lies it went past time to get the cash back.

49. I do know that once the money has been "transferred to an account", that paypal can't get it back....they can only contact the individual and try to make them pay the money back....lol Honestly, i don't do the paypal thing.....
it really is not safe....the only way that is truly safe is MONEY ORDERS...or COD....If you know what to look for on Money Orders, then you will NOT get defrauded.....and COD is the best way, when opting to send someone something......they have to give the carrier the money, and then the carrier gives the person the item...LOL

the only two ways i'd sell :)

jordan-Mykal

50. Alot of people will not accept or offer CoD anymore, sadly. Money orders can be cashed at the post office or the lender bank and you can't get it back, either. Money orders are the LEAST secure way to go- that's why many scammers only accept western union or money orders or cash.

51. yes, but there are PARTICULAR things to LOOK for on a money order that cannot be DUPLICATED.....for example....you can take a money order to the creator (Bank or post office, etc) and verify it before attempting to send out product....and as far as SENDING money orders and them cashing them.....you CAN get that back, as i have done so myself. As long as you have PROOF that you sent them money...all you have to do is report the money order to the lender bank, or post office, (Bring in your stub as proof...) and they CAN and WILL track the money order, and if that person cannot prove that they sent product, then the money is given BACK to you....(usually this process costs between 5-10 dollars, but it's better than not getting ANYTHING back at all)....I did this with a 500 dollar money order that was sent to pay for a computer terminal tower, that was never sent. The process took about 3 weeks, but i got my money back, minus a 10 dollar charge for the process.....

Jordan-Mykal

and just so ya know, paypal will ALWAYS side with the person who SENT the money.....they will ALWAYS get their money back....:( Its an unfortunate thing, and hence why i will NEVER use paypal to TAKE payment from someone for online transactions.

52. also, i believe that MOST post offices DO still offer COD.....not sure on that tho.....as i haven't used it in years...but i know for a FACT that money orders are PERFECTLY safe....just so long as you know HOW to use them, and you know what your options are if you should be scammed.

Jordan-Mykal

53. UPDATE~
This seller stopped replying to my emails and as of yet, has not returned my stolen outfit.
PLEASE...if anyone sees it on Ebay again, let me know.

54. An outfit like that is going to be spotted aain sooner or later.... we'll find it. >:(

55. You ladies are my guardian angels! :)

56. You CAN get the money back...
An eBay seller called Dollfiedreams (Ebay UK) was too lazy to reply to my e-mails about a dress she was supposed to send me. She ignored my questions and warnings, after offering a replacement, and failing to send that one too, and as far as I could tell from eBay, my £7 had been in her account for a comfy three weeks (long enough to clear) and she intended for it to stay there.

Wrong.

I contacted Paypal through eBay, left a detail explanation of what had happened, and gave them the item number, and the Paypal history reference.
If she does not respond to their e-mails within ten days of my launching this retrieval, Paypal automatically favour the buyer, and will begin proceedings to reclaim my money (done through her bank and mine, hence it takes a while...)

If the silly girl doesnt respond, she'l not only find herself suddenly £7 short, but with a rather nasty little bit of feedback on her-until now-spotless feedback forum.....:x

I
