I ordered Delphini in pink, hopefully I'll get her Jan/Febr Depends on how I can pay off layaway.

 

I get paid tomorrow so I get to order my moons tomorrow! So excited!

I ordered a Pink Alula and hoping to add a Lilac Delphini before the order period ends!

 

I am stoked! I have a Lilac Lyra on order! I was torn between her and a Medium Lupi, but since I could only swing getting one, I opted for the purple! (and human ears will be easier for me to work with )

 

I've put in for a medium Lupi! I'm so pleased, when they first started sharing pictures/test prints on instagram I didn't have a job and couldn't afford one... now I've got a job and some funds so more dolls for me!

 

Ordered Lyra in mint and ordering Lupi in medium next week.

i ordered a lupi in medium, i was going to go for deep but seeing as how I'll be giving her a faceup myself and i don't have much experience I opted for medium, i'm just waiting on my invoice so i can start paying off my layaway.

The final preorder period for the first lineup of Dandelion Moon sculpts has ended!

Team Frapp has asked that an update be shared here:

Invoices are being sent out, but team Frapp reports that there are a lot of them with many details that they want to get right, so it’s taking a while. If you have not yet received a Paypal invoice for your Moon Preorder, do not worry. There is not a problem with your order. As long as your payment of the first $150 went through and you got an order confirmation email, your doll/s are secured and your invoice will be sent out soon.


If your preferred PayPal email address is different than the email address you used to register on Frappzilla’s site, you should email them to have the invoice re-sent. Include your Frappzilla-registered email, the email address the invoice should be sent to, your order number (and if possible, if you have access/can see it, the incorrectly-addressed invoice’s number) to have your invoice re-sent to the proper Paypal account.

 

Are these ever sold as a full set complete with faceups, body blushing, and strung or are they always sold as kits? Ty

 

This ordering period was the chance to pre-order a blank (assembled, finished-quality cast) Moon and select its option parts if you wanted a specific color and sculpt. From 2022 onward, these sculpts may be made available from Frappzilla in a stock form, perhaps even with pre-made faceup, included or exclusive clothing options, eyes, and/or wigs. Possibly as a full set as you are asking about.

They have teased this as a plan/possibility but not guaranteed anything specific so far.

The soonest something like that could happen, I’d expect, would be next spring.

 

I'm so excited for my Delphini!! She's on layaway as I mentioned in the waiting thread- I'm so glad that was an option and that I'm able to do so since I fell for her quick. She's going to be a goblin/fae type character and have some Luna moth accents (though I saw someone mention they are also doing a moth theme on another Moon- I promise I'm not copying you, I had the idea from one of the pics Frappzilla posted ^^; )

She's basically been my main motivation and incentive to do well workwise this semester. I'm happy I had the chance to order her!

Lupa was expensive but I think it'll be worth it I hope.

Beyond vuage ideas for a faceup I don't really know how i'll dress mine. I'm assuming they'll fit in with my neo victoriana crew so that should be fun to design anyway.

 

Whoops, sorry I never replied to you guys! Clotheswise I'm thinking of a kind of hybrid style of flowing white silk/burlap sack sort of look! She is one of the Fair Folk, but also definitely a lil gremlin. ^w^

I actually was going through a bit of buyer's remorse because of having to allocate money each month for layaway payment for a doll I won't see til... March I think. But I was looking back through Frappzilla's Insta including the photos of the body being packed and that's made me excited again!! I'm really looking forward to having her and now I know how to keep the excitement up. I'm also thinking of faceup looks, idk when I'll feel comfortable sending out a doll for faceup (haven't done it yet in my...9? years in the hobby) but I have a mental image of something scaly or with scale accents of some sort. But I'll figure that out more when she's here. She definitely does give off mermaid vibes despite my plans being in a different direction.

I paid my Lupi off and bought a mini lupi bloom too lol.

I really gotta decide whether they'll be a modern sort of doll or fantasy or what.
I guess i'll see when they arrive. That's usually what I do. I wait till the doll is here to do faceup and wig and then let them tell me their fashion style lol.

I get ya on the layaway pain. I don't really like doing layaways, I find them stressful and prefer to just do lump sums but these art dolls are so much more expensive than the dolls I usually buy so layaway is my only option. But even so, I do find having to set aside that money every month and carefully budget everything extremely stressful. Oh to have infinite cash right?

I suspect the dark/deep ones are gonna be last because it's the hardest colour to cast. Which means a little more waiting for my lupi. But i'm excited.

 

I'm waiting on a mint Delphini and medium tan Lupi. I know the med tan babies have arrived and are being processed, but I'll be waiting longer until the fantasy colours come home too.

 

Yes I love the fantasy ones too, but they dont work with my story lines. (lucky for my wallet though..lol)

Oh congrats! I know there are more colors expected soon, I hope your mint girl is in that delivery! I'm glad you get to enjoy your Lupi soon! Do you have names and styles selected yet?

@Nikki'sNewObsession They’re going to be shells for Alice in Wonderland characters. They should have their own personas too though. I’ll have to learn who they are when they get here though. Delphini is the mock turtle and Lupi is the gryphon.

Willow's wigs are coming in the mail and I've preordered her eyes. I will take lots of pics even while she's blank once she has a wig that fits..lol

Yep but there will be delays as they have a little holiday for their wedding.

It’s kinda nice being a part of their life event in a way.

I’m trying to be patient, but I’m also really excited. These will be my first artist dolls and first fantasy dolls (except for the elf ears on my DOT U-i).

Because they’re part of the tertiary cast in my crew they’re less defined which is kind of nice in a way. Hopefully there will be more freedom to learn their characters.

 

Ah! I just got an email with photos of my medium tan Lupi (as well as shipping quotes). They look great! I haven't done much with my BJDs in, uh, a while (off-topic vinyl dolls stole my brain and most of my energy) so they may sit for a bit once they get here until the next crafting bug takes me... but still! Quite exciting. ^.^

 

I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone's Dandelion moons! They're very cute, kinda regretting not getting one!

I got pics of my tan Lupi yesterday, too. It's sweet that they're doing the posing pictures, but not super necessary for me. XD I'm just waiting on my Polaris to get there before I get shipping quotes.

Anyone in here who ordered one shipped to the US able to tell me how much their shipping was? I know mine will be higher, cause two, but I'm just looking for a baseline.

 

The cheapest option - Royal Mail to the USA - was £27.50. It's 5-15 pounds more for courier shipping to the US, at least where I am (southeastern US, don't know if that makes a difference). Exchange rates being how they are, conversion to USD will vary.

I’m getting two shipped to US and was quoted 57GBP for the faster option and 50GBP for the slower
But these are also the premium options, they told me they offer airmail for cheaper but don’t recommend it

They've confirmed they are working on new sculpts for the line. They're getting all caught up on their offtopic Blooms and I think are working on some other things first is all.

I don't think I've been this prepared for a new doll's arrival in a long time. Clothes, wig, shoes all ready to go, eyes coming with. Can't hardly wait!!

 

Good to hear! I'll hopefully be able to get an Alula some time in the future. Or something in the same line that's new and also adorable!

Can't wait to see your new arrival all put together, good on you for preparing ahead! I try to do that when I'm shelling a specific character, but often fall short!

It's a miracle I had clothes that fit! They're shorter than my MYOU girl by something like six cm, but they have the largest bottom of any of my dolls except the vinyl 1/3 ladies! For reference, the 1/4 size jeans from Alice's Collections (G067 on their site I think?) fit pretty well if you roll the legs up a little. I've hung onto a pair for ages because they sorta fit my MYOU girl, even if they were a little wide in the hips.

I don't know when I'll be able to do their faceup, this is thunderstorm season in the south. Every day for the last week has been storms! Maybe I'll have to commission a faceup for once. Hrm.

 

Wooo Lupi! We have miserable heavy rain, storms and wind here in New Zealand too. I have hardly anything MSD sized and yes, from all I’ve seen the moons have unique sizing. I haven’t seen any updates from my clothing commission so at this stage I’m thinking my moons may be naked for a while.

 

Continued experimentation with moons:

1. the msd leggings from Denver Doll do not fit over moon hips. The Ringdoll yoga pants do.
2. Ken Barbie Basics tshirt? fits like a glove.
3. Most 10mm eyes and some smaller iris 12mm eyes = good fit. Although my eye putty really doesn't like the resin very much.
4. 5/6 wigs fit, although I wasn't *as* thrilled with how the Leekeworld wig did with the ears. I liked the way the Jinsun wig I ordered fit a little bit better.
5. the legs did arrive a little loosely strung. I'm not sure when or if I'll get around to fixing that (my vinyl dolls have spoiled me!) but putting on pants is kind of strange. While I like the locks they built into the ankles very very much, I'm not as big a fan of the knee joints.
6. They can share flats, at least, with my Souldoll and MYOU girl. I will eventually order them their own shoes, but for now, their lovely detailed feet make me smile.

Finally had low enough humidity to give them a faceup! I'm not 100% in love with it - I never am - but it'll do.

 

Goregous Lupi.

I'm nervous about mine actually. I ordered lupi in the darkest brown and it's gonna be a real challenge to paint. I'm thinking a gold and maybe bright blue motif. I have some lovely "wolf" eyes prepared but I still need a wig. I usually wait til a doll arrives to organise that as i'm very indecisive and like to have the doll sort of "tell me" what they want.

Pondering a bright blue maybe. Try to keep the colour pallete limited. Not sure though. Black would work as well but wouldn't be as striking against the dark skin. I'll have to play around with my existing wigs to see what colours work best.

The ears definitely make wigs a challenge. I feel like certain styles just won't work because of them.

Haven't got my shipping invoice yet, but it shouldn't be long now. Hilariously, I just got a shipping notice for a Soom Cheshire from their event that I ordered long after the Dandelions, so he might get here before them which was completely unexpected! Maybe they can be friends. They are supposed to be the Gryphon and Mock turtle, so I think Cheshire would be happy having conversations that go around in circles with them and listening to poems.

 

Just wanted to show off my Lyra Also, when I restrung her I accidentally put the knee peanut in the wrong direction but I find that this helps her stand better, compared to my Lupi (who has the knee peanut in the correct way) she's much easier to handle now. Arms are still annoying though aha, will probably need to add wire or something to them.
