FMD wigs have amazing quality. They have won me for life with their soft feel and beautiful color. They even sent an extra wig as a gift, which I have not photographed. A black or near black boy cut!

I have a few FMD wigs, and they're all gorgeous. My only issue is with one of mine having a very shallow wig cap, so it kind of pops off the dolls' head if I'm not careful. I haven't had this problem with any of the other wigs i own from them, though.

Can anyone show me what a mix between 135-15 or 135-13 looks like? C: I am very interested in doing a custom with FMD at some point in one of those mixes.

 

Does anyone know if FMD will do color mixes with 3 colors? Like 70%, 20%, 10% combo..

 

I'd really like to see more FMD wigs on tinies (6, 5, 4 inches)!

 

I've heard that they will, but that was a while ago. Not sure if they'll still do it. I've never seen a custom FMD wig with three mixed colors. I'm sure if you ask on their Q&A board, though, they'll let you know if they will do it!

Have you ever seen the Rapunzel wigs for Lati Yellow? They are made by FMD, so that might give you an idea what tinies would look like wearing them.

I love the look and feel of ForMyDoll wigs. Here are most of mine:

Lemonade, size 8-9, in two shades of brown - I can't remember the exact numbers anymore, and I can't find my record of this order on my computer. It's a dark brown with a golden brown point color:




Shadow perm, size 6-7 - fits perfectly on my Little Junior Mars (the one on the left). The color is a custom blend of 50% #130 and 50% #144:




Spring Spring size 7-8 in color #130:




And 7-8 Cranberry Juices in a custom blend of 70% color #130 and 30% color #13:



It's awfully hard to find just the right shade of red sometimes. I'm grateful that ForMyDoll will custom blend some really great colors.

Haven't seen any Short Cuts on here, but as you can see its a little different then the picture stylewise, but Reggie's wearing it at a different angle then the doll in the picture. I had to twist it some to avoid it covering 1/2 his face.

Pippa, the FMD website seems to be working fine. (In fact, they have added lots of amazing new products, including clothing!) I recall reading a thread on DoA about some UK people being unable to access the FMD website, because it was blocked by their internet provider. Kind of a silly question, but how do you order mixed color preorder wigs from the FMD website? I couldn't seem to find an FAQ about it on there. ^^;; I'd also love to see a comparison between F13 and F7 if anyone has both. Can't seem to decide which I like best!

 

For the record, FMD seems to have limited custom mixes. I aske dif i could get anything other then a 50-50 mix or even just streaks, and they said no.

The wigs I've ordered from them are very stretchy, I'm pretty sure they have elastic, unless that's changed very recently.

 

i asked FMD directly and no, they don't have elastic.

 

I have some FMD wigs with elastic, and some without. I think it depends on the style. The ones without elastic are indeed very stretchy anyway.

I also asked them directly about what you wrote about them doing away with custom color blends, and they assured me that this is NOT the case. My exact question was, "I saw a post on the Den of Angels forum, saying it is no longer possible to order custom color blends or custom point colors for Pre-Order wigs. Is this correct?" Their response to my inquiry was, "If you want pre-order, you can order the wigs as same way before. Our order system has not changed a bit over the years. ^_^" So in other words, custom blends are still a go. Thank heavens!

 

That's odd... they definently told me all they would do is 50-50 mixes and no streaks. well that sucks... GO is already ordered and I woulda liked a custom mix wig >_<

I've a FMD wig but I don't currently own any BJD: may I show e few pictures of the wig on another doll on this thread?

 

as long as the doll is actually a BJD, then i don't see why not. all other dolls are off-topic and not allowed.

 

How's the sizing on the smaller wigs these days, or stretchiness? I have a couple doll heads that are almost exactly 7", so not sure whether to get 6-7 or 7-8.

 

I actually checked in the Minifee discussion thread since I wanted to get a wig for my incoming doll. Someone recommended a 6-7 inches wig, and tried on one of her Minifee's head, and mentioned that the wig fits very well for the 7 inches head. Hope that helps.

 

I am curious how's the wig quality compare to Crobi's wig?
I see some of the wigs look very similar to Crobi's but with more color, anyone can shed some lights on this?

 

i don't own a crobi, but i can tell you they are very soft (both normal and heat-resisting) and they are made very well! i spent a long time looking for what i wanted and finally found it with FMD wigs.

I have a RL friend who owns wigs from both companies, and according to her; she feels that the wings sold by Crobidoll could be done by FMD themselves. Because she felt that the texture and feeling are really similar, and also the colours, since she ordered one color from FMD and is identical to the Crobidoll one she has.

Might as well order from FMD in that case, get what I mean? Cheaper and they would make custom colours too!

Ah yes! My Minifee Chloe has such a small head so I had to buy Yo-SD sized wigs for her, you see. But glad I could help though! :>

I just want to ask if "Sweet Milk" color it's the same than "Heat resisting fiber 600". I'm in love with that color but I want to purchase it in another model of wig.

 

I just ordered a wig from FMD a week ago, and ordered three colours; though two colours in a mix streaks and another colour as the base.

I am just wondering for anybody who had ordered custom wigs from FMD - how long did you wait until your order was shipped?

Ahh, thank you very much for answering! That is not long at all! I was wondering because FMD had answered my question a while ago and mentioned they would need 55 day after payment. And I was like, ".. o_o That's loooooonnnngg."

Hopefully that two weeks would be the case, especially wanting this wig for a new incoming doll. Still, thank you!

 

Frillyrattie and I just got our order and it took about two weeks as well. The wig cap really shows through on this wig on the top because the fibers are so thin, but I never take photo's of the top of her head so I suppose it doesn't really matter all that much. Overall though, I LOVE this wig. It feels silky and wonderful and I really like the cut! (Although the bangs are really long and it did take some fiddling to get it to sit how I wanted it ^^; )

Been meaning to post pics FOREVER, and finally I have some to show! I bought my twins some wigs from FMD...

This is wig [FMD-1037] Just You in HR-1B with point color NF-600:

I like how soft they are and they fit my boys reasonably well; they're a bit big because my boys have little noggins - too small for 8/9 wigs but too big for 7/8 wigs. The front parts seemed a bit longer then the pics on the website, but not a big deal. I'd like to trim them slightly shorter all the way around, but that's really only because they fit larger on my boys then they would on a regular 8/9 head size doll.

I hot-watered them to style them and the black wig fared well (the mainly HR fiber one) but the white one (the mainly NF one) didn't take to it so well. I've tried twice to style and doing it that way made the wig cap quite visible through the top portions and also made the white sort of go...crimpy :/ I think that could be fixed with some better styling, so I guess I'll just have to keep playing with it until I get it to where I want it ^_^;

 

Does anyone have a wig in the heat-resistant "Mild Black"?? I like FMDS-1096 since it's got the short haircut and doesn't looks too mushroomy/ball-head-ish like a lot of short wigs for 6-7inch head dolls, but I'm not perfectly sure about mild black and they don't seem to have blackest-black (though the character for whom it is for has hair that's more like nearly-black-low-saturation-blue, but I don't see a lot of wigs in that color).

i might trim the bangs in future but i wanted them to 'hide' her face a bit, since she's a girl with messy hair in my mind. anyway, the wig quality is really good. definitely recommend FMD.

 

Just an important reminder, guys.. Please don't forget to write the wig's style name on your posts! FMD wigs look VERY different in the site because of the old pictures, so we can't really tell just by looking at them, unfortunately. =/

Quite a lot, I think (: I managed to put a 8-9 wig on my K-Doll Kill_U head, which wears 9-10 usually. Most of their wigs are also pretty "hairy", so the haircut doesn't look weird even if the wig is stretched. Of course, if you get a more shallow haircut, stretching too much may deform it's looks.

 

How do you order mixed colors? I can't find this info on the website and it doesn't seem to be listed on the order pages, unless I'm being totally blind :[
