Knitting FL Littlefee Ante's New Hat

      Knit hat for 10” tall Fairyland’s LittleFee: 6.5” circumference head

      U.S. size 0 needles and 3 skeins craft thread – hat pictured took 2 solid color skeins and one variegated skein

      11 sts/inch 14 rows/inch Make sure you match the stitches/inch. Your rows/inch can vary.

      Note: Hat will fit a wigless BJD.

      Cast on 70 sts. K 8 rows. Purl 1 row. If a striped hat is desired, attach second color here. Alternate 2 rows in contrast color, then 2 rows main color through the rest of the piece.
      Work stockinette stitch (k 1 row, p 1 row) until the whole piece is about 1.5” long, ending with a p row.
      K across, increasing 1 st at the beginning and end of the row. (72 sts) Purl across.

      Begin decreasing:
      K1, (k5, slip 1, k1, PSSO) repeat pattern in parentheses to last st, k1. Purl 1 row.

      K1, (k4, slip 1, k1, PSSO) repeat pattern in parentheses to last st, k1. Purl 1 row.

      K1, (k3, slip 1, k1, PSSO) repeat pattern in parentheses to last st, k1. Purl 1 row.

      K1, (k2, slip 1, k1, PSSO, repeat pattern in parentheses to last st, k1. Purl 1 row.

      K1, (k1, slip 1, k1, PSSO) repeat pattern in parentheses to last st, k1. Purl 1 row. (12 sts)

      K1, (slip 1, k1, PSSO) repeat pattern in parentheses to last st, k1. (7 sts) Purl 1 row.

      K1, (slip 1, k1, PSSO) repeat pattern in parentheses to end. (4 sts)

      Bind off or work I-cord to desired length. Fasten off.
      Sew seam. Weave in ends. Add embellishments, if desired.

    3. This looks so cute and I’m going to make it. I don’t know what you mean by ‘craft thread’? It looks like yarn. thank you! :)
      I just looked in Amazon... is it embroidery floss that you used?
       
    4. I used craft thread made by DMC sold in Michael's stores and online. Some packages say "craft cord". Amazon has it under "Prism craft cord". (I found only one choice on Amazon; Michael's has more choices.) If you'd like to try embroidery thread, I'd recommend 3 or 4 strands to get the 11 stitches per inch gauge. You could also try pearl cotton size 8. Almost any yarn or thread will work as long as you get 11 stitches per inch.
