Wearables First try at making clothes

May 27, 2016

    1. Hey guys, I thought I would share some photos of an outfit I made for my little Jax. It's not perfect and I ended up cheating by using her magnet to hold the straps down :XD: and only a few stitches to hold the skirt (I made this at one thirty in the morning so laziness is to be had xD), but I like how it turned out and I'm happy she is no longer naked.
I didn't use a pattern and it was made with a lot of cutting, bad words and then very carefully putting the finale stitches in the skirt whilst the doll wore it to make it tight enough to fit.

I am hoping to draft a pattern for this and make it using a better material then calico but it does the trick for now :celebrate

And here she is snuggled back up with my Loki Hot Toy who she has claimed as hers and refuses to sit anywhere else. I don't think Loki is impressed...

    2. Oh my gosh, that's TOO cute, I love it! :D And she looks so dainty and ladylike at the feet of Mr. Loki, hehe, I think she should stay there. Admittedly, your first outfit is much more sophisticated than mine was! Looks like that fabric might be hard to stitch/hem, due to the unraveling-- I had the same problem. Here's hoping I get to see your 2.0 version of this outfit!

    3. I love the style of the dress!

    4. Thanks guys, I'm currently working on version two tonight with green material so hopefully it comes out well. If only Kiki would stop trying to stay naked lol

    5. I have those dolls too lol! Some just want to be naked!!!

    6. I love the style you went with. The baby in rags kinda thing. It makes her look so innocent and sad and yet, you can tell there's a hint of content within.

    7. Once you hem it (which if you know only a little hand sewing should be okay) it will look so cool and its less likely to unravel! :) Still right now it's very cute!

    8. Hi all, this is the second dress I made for her, I think that this will be the one she keeps we are both in love with it, and it goes well with Loki's outfit.

    9. The material is a lot nicer, however you still need to hem it! :) Love the emerald green though!

    10. I love how the green material matches the green on her ears! That was a great color choice. The rag type style is really cute! I don't know if you want to try a more finished looking look, but hemming the edges and ironing the fabric can go a long way into making something look more finished

    11. Thanks for the feedback guys, I am working on learning how to hem stuff in a way that still makes it look raggedy and sorta shoved together quickly which is Kiki's style. Soon she'll be going off for a faceup and body blushing, just arguing with her over her tail being green like her ears lol.
