well this is my first head! Im excited, i used scupley it works well for me so far.. im about to go bake this little boy. I havent came up with a set name but i think Danyael will suit him. =)
I like him! I really like his mouth and nose, especially the mouth. The lips look very skilled That's your first doll head? Sweet ;D But... is that normal sculpy? ops: If you plan on making him a body, you should use Super Sculpy cause normal sculpy prolly won't stand up to the stresses of stringing... ;_; Oh, how big is his head?
well his head is roughly the size of a dark elf soo. Now what is this stuff called super sculpty i havent heard of it till here?is that stuff really strong? where can i get it? im a tattoo artist im so nit picky on detail its ridiculous.
Super sculpy is a stronger type of sculpy that is intended for artists use, like pottery and dolls. It's a flesh color(and I think they make it in grey now too) and it's really nice, it's easier to work with than normal sculpy too. I'm sure lots of people here can tell you more, but really, it's a doll maker's best friend! ;D I get mine at Micheal's, or AC Moore, or any craft store like that.
hobby lobby and joann's carries super sculpey as well. :3 make sure it's reaaaaaally thick at the bottom and that your doll isn't strung too overly tight, or it'll still crack in half. that's what happened with me.
