What a doozy this was! I wiped and started over SO many times, but landed with this as a full first-attempt! I want to get some even finer brushes to do lashes (you'll notice he currently has none I wiped them off because they looked so bad lol) but I think the biggest thing I realized when working with pigment powders, is that less is definitely more. As frustrating as it was at times, I'm feeling motivated to try again tomorrow lol.
Looks wonderful! I think you have a very good eye for colors to create a natural and captivating complexion. I recommend a 20/0 brush for lashes if you can find one. Having the right tool will help a lot, but it takes some getting used to as well. I hope you have a lot of fun with faceups! it's a wonderful craft
I really like the natural tones you chose for the faceup. This is looking really good and I can't wait to see your faceups in future.
Thank you so much! I’m excited to try more. Thank you! I am too! Which is why I started on practice heads rather than on a head I plan on actually using for a doll, lol. Was definitely scary trying but the nice thing is if you mess up you can just wipe and start again! thank you!!
Your fearlessness and determination along with your critical eye and natural talent will take your far. Enjoy your doll and remember, perfection doesn't exist, nor does it look natural in face-ups. Excellent first face-up.
Thank you! I've been wiping and redoing this practice head a lot lately and I think I just have a thing for super blushed cheeks
To echo what other people said: you did so good with those natural tones. It actually looks skin-like! Love it
It looks great! I love the peachy-pink-red tones in the cheeks. I always learn towards these very heavy red/peach blushed cheeks in face ups
The colour palette looks so cute! Like what a lot of other people said, you've got a good eye for them. The doll looks very nice
I also like the shimmering colors used. Keep at it. Rome wasn't built in a day. Avoid frustration by adding little details each day. It will all come together in the final results.
Oh it looks so pretty! I truly would be so proud if I was able to do that, so congratulation! I also heard that for the lashes, a 20/0 was the best brush, I tried it but it’s very very hard to do something quite well, I really think that people doing it are really good at it! I’ve also seen watercolor pencils and these works better (and are easier to use)
