Aesthetics First faceup of the firsty first (Atelier Momoni-Momoni)

Finally my Marcelline has a face! And finally, I've done my first faceup on a BJD. (warning: very bad photos incoming (Also DoA didn't want my pictures, so there are links to it instead)

I was pretty scared of doing my first faceup, because I was certain I would ruin my doll. But after looking at it, I think it's not that bad. I had a makeup idea in mind and I tried to recreate it.

I started by blushing a little bit, adding "shadows" on the ears and the nose, as well as lip colour. As you can see, the lips got a little bit out of hand. There were pastel everywhere ><' but, with the best eraser ever, I managed to save it. By the way, kneadable eraser is one of the best tool ever for pastels. I'm amazed at how precise it is!

I then did the eyeshadow. I'm a little sad because I blended the colours too much and it wasn't as bright as I wanted it to be, but I still like it.

Doing the eyeliner was the most intense part, as no eraser could save me from a disaster. That's why her eyeliner is so thin, because I got scared really quickly!

The eyebrows were also a big struggle. I love making surprised or amazed look on my character, so I tried to do that with Marcelline. They aren't perfect, but I tried...

Final pictures of my girl! (Hope you can see the pictures) Overall while I was anxious I had a lot of fun doing the faceup. She's not really finished though, She needs horns, more clothes and a decent wig (this one is the first wig I've ever done and needless to say it's full of flaws) I'm pretty happy about the result, and I can't wait to do more!

Thank you! You know what it is with eyeliner, you say "just a liiiittle more" and you end up with panda eyes ^^ For the horns I want to have/make ram-like ones, I just love the aesthetic of it. If it is possible, I would like to have a double pair of horns, with ram horns and a smaller pair of devil-like horns at the top of her head. I'll just have to try!

Thank you! Actually not so long ago I asked members of DoA what I should do, if I should go for an "easier" natural faceup or straight up to the flashy faceup I really wanted. Everyone told me to try the bright one, and I'm so glad I did. You're definitly right, sometimes taking risks does pay off

Thanks! I thought about making the horns purple, but I would like some sort of translucid horns if it is possible. I think I'm going to choose according to the colour of the next wig she's going to have

 

Thank you! Usually symmetry isn't my strength, so thanks so much for the compliment ^^ I would love to add eyelashes, but for now, I haven't found a pair that I liked, therefore I'm going to search a little longer, but the lady will have eyelashes
