Aesthetics First Faceup Ever

Oct 22, 2017

    1. Hello, this is my first time ever doing a faceup and I'd like some feedback on how I did and tips for future faceups. Something in particular I wanted advice on was even eyebrows because the ones I did aren't even and it's kinda irking me, but I'm not gonna try to fix one again and make it worse.

The head sculpt is a Little Rebel Andre.(love the lips!)
The eyes are uneven because they're temporary so I was holding them in lol.

    2. Unfortunately I can't offer informed critique, but this faceup looks gorgeous to me! If anything I might say the blush on the cheeks and shading under the left eye might need to be a bit more blended, but I'd take my opinion with a grain of salt. Excellent work, especially for a first time!

    3. It looks fantastic!
Only thing I have to say is eyebrows are supposed to look like sisters not twins, so I wouldn't worry too much about them being uneven. :)

    4. I think the eyebrows are too high. The shading and contouring needs to be more delicately blended. Stick with it. You have talent!!!

    5. Thanks, I did have a rough time with blending the pastels put but that's something I'll have to try and practice some more in the future.

Thanks a bunch, that does make me feel better about the those brows! :XD:

Thanks for the compliment, I had a rough time with the pastels but after getting some good advice it turned out way better than before. I still have to keep practicing though but I'm looking forward to making progress! :wiggle

    6. I think it looks great! They eyebrows look fine to me. The lips threw me off for a moment because they seem so big, but that's the sculpt and not you.

    7. Haha, thanks! The thick lips are one of the reasons I fell in love with Little Rebel head sculpts.

    8. OMG, this faceup is sooo cute! You used such beautiful and natural colors. I love his rosy cheeks, though I think they could have been blended out a bit more. Lips look great, eyeliner looks great, and I'm impressed by the lines inside the crevices on his eyelids and lips. Most people struggle to get them so tidy. I agree with Kirby that the eyebrows are too high, which is really common on early faceups. You kinda get this idea that if you make the eyebrows too low, the doll will look evil, but next time take a look at some photos of people and you'll see that eyebrows are much lower than you think. The symmetry looks acceptable to me, but I've given up trying to make eyebrows 100% perfectly symmetrical (it's soo time consuming). If you want to be really intense about it, you can look at the head in a mirror and it will help you find the places that need fixing. (I'm warning you though, it may drive you crazy if you're a perfectionist)

He is seriously adorable and you are off to a great start with faceups!

    9. Look at the head in a mirror upside down. It will tell you if one eyebrow is higher than the other.

    10. Thanks so much for all the encouraging words, everyone has great advice I can't wait to try it all on my next faceup, whenever that will be lol.

This is a great tip, thanks!

    11. I am in love with this faceup! I love the bark blushing and the freckles are sooo cute. I can confirm the mirror trick is a life saver when it comes to faceups.
