First faceup attempt, please critique xD !

Jul 13, 2013

    1. Hello, this is my first work on Dollzone Moon. Please pardon the fact that their is no eyelashes since I haven't got such a small brush.
Pease give comment! I really need them hahaha :sweat

      [IMG][IMG]

As you can see there is a line on her ear. I'm not sure why it happened, all I know is the place is not smooth so it looks like there are tinny holes in that area :...(

    2. I think it's lovely! So much better then my first...second...sixth...attempts ;)

As for the line, I'm sure someone more experienced will be able to help - I do wonder if it's something to do with the MSC / uneven sealant? I love the colors though :)

    3. Thank you for your encouragement!!! I still dont know what is wrong with the sealant though :(

    4. I absolutely love the gradient in the colors. The eyes, the lips - all beautiful! Personally I like longer eyebrows, but that's more of a personal call than a critique. I really do think you did an amazing job - and your first try on this face, too! :D

    5. Not sure if it's just the photos, but it looks like some of the blushing looks like it has blotches in it. If it's the sealant; make sure you shake the can WELL, spray from a further distance using shorter bursts, blush in more layers, let the head dry for a longer time between layer seals. I find spraying in a box helps, too.

    6. Wow! Your first attempt is better than so many that I've seen (and done) :) I love the comments about layering the blush and spraying. With faceups, it really is a to each their own type of thing. The gradients are gorgeous as is the chosen colors. This is a personal preference, but I think there might be just a wee bit too much blushing all over the face. While looking very sweet, she looks a little too blushy. You have done an amazing job. I recommend just keep practicing. Maybe you could take a picture of the face blank, print it out numerous times and try different styles of eye makeup that way. Good luck!

    7. Thank you all for your critiques!
Sorry Doll-Mage, can you please explain what you mean by blotches? Because Engish is not my first language so I don't understand it well :sweat. And what is the perfect distand you use for spraying?
Sara Lu: Thank you very much! I agree that she looks a bit too blushy now you mention it hahaha  And I love your idea about using blank photo of the head! I didn't think of that at all!

    8. I think you have done an amazing job and should be proud of it! :) I love the soft colours you have chosen. Very cute! Awesome work.
As for the line I may of had that problem with a doll of my own and I *Think* it was some of the previous faceup or something on the doll that I was not able to get off. It maybe be different to the problem I had just thought I would share in case it might be the same :P Good luck

    9. Its lovely. I would get in there though with a very very sharp pencil crayon and do some fine lines in the brows and lower lashes. Super cute colours

    10. I like the way that the color blends together :D

    11. Wow, gorgeus!

I think the softness and lack of lashes or eyebrow definition makes the face look more other-worldly.

As for the line on the left ear, maybe you can copy it onto the other ear and maybe the 'horns', so there's a bit of striping? That way it would look like a design decision rather than an imperfection?

Thanks for sharing your work! : )

    12. I'm on my phone so I don't know if I'm getting the full effect but that is an awesome face up!! Even more so that its your first :D

    13. It looks super cute! The gradients are really well done. The line might have something to do with the material you used (Pastels or Paint?) It could have just been the amount of pigment that was on the brush... I'm not quite sure. Also sealant gets kind of gross if you are using it in a humid environment.

    14. This is really pretty! and i love the way the eyes match so nicely.
Honestly i like that it doesn't have the eyelashes, not sure why but it still looks natural. o.o

    15. This is really lovely! You have managed to get all the colours look so soft... And you have chosen such beautiful colours too!

    16. i love the colors you used, maybe some eye liner to make the eyes stand out a bit more, and if you don't like the idea of black eyeliner maybe a nice brown would look good.

    17. Really adore the colors! Great job!

    18. Awesome first attempt :)

    19. very well done on the colours and brushing on the faceup!

    20. Great first try! I think the colors and blushing are perfect. But I can't critique, just because I have never done one before! :)
