Aesthetics First Face-up~!

Jan 9, 2015

    1. So, I forgot to get around to posting this after my computer ate its own harddrive, but here it is!

Early December, I did this face-up, finally having time away from college to sit and work with my darling. I wanted to do something that was in the style that I use to color faces when I draw. Next thing I know, one thing became another and there was blue and my art student came out.
His nose was not supposed to be as red as it is, but it was so cute and I just kept going... But I like it!
      But anyway, here is Skylar.

He doesn't have his eyelashes installed because I didn't bother taking a photo of him once they were installed (way too lazy). They're purple, if that helps any.

One thing that I would like to change about this is to add some teeth. I tried and that just didn't work. I was too mad and it didn't look good. I will commission someone just to give him teeth. I also got rid of his bottom eyelashes because they looked atrocious and I'm thinking of just installing the faux eyelashes. /shrugs/

Now that I look at him, I gave him a serious full-face flush. I like it. B) There is no gloss on his lips because I decided not to put any on (plus I'm a broke college kid).

I do have another picture of him in different lighting, because his face-up is annoying in different lighting, because of the reds reacting with the yellow lighting.

    2. He looks great, did you only use pastel on these?

    3. He is very cute!!

    4. He is super cute I love the blue eyebrows

    5. Wow... this is better than I could do! His eyebrows really suit his face. His itty bitty red nose is adorable. <3

    6. That and Faber-Castell Watercolor Pencils!
The pastel was just way too much fun, that it was addicting!

    7. Thank you so much! My mom kept saying that he looks absolutely distraught, but he is just too cute for his own good.
      And that nose kills me every time. ;w;

    8. It's really great for your first time! A little red, but it works!

    9. That's really nicely done, especially considering that it was your first time doing one. And you matched the colour of the eyebrows to the colour of the wig perfectly. Well done.

    10. This is a great first face up! The colors are soft and blended well. Plus they're complementary to the outfit. I'm an absolute sucker for colorful face ups <3

    11. Great job! I love the blue eyebrows.

    12. Awwww Q u Q what a cutie!! <3
You did a Great job on him I agree with zoo lady I love his blue eye brows

    13. Wow! This looks really great and works super well against his skin and eyes! Plus it really goes with the outfit choice you made for him.

    14. I really love how soft it looks, it's beautiful! The only thing I could see that I could even critique on is the lower lashes, but honestly I think it looks great just as it is if you don't want to add any! Also, I especially love your color choices. Great job!

    15. I tried to do some lower lashes, but I would need to paint them on rather than draw. But, I was thinking of actually just pasting another set of eyelashes because I have seen it done before and I really liked it!

    16. Nice start, but I don't think it's good idea to make his nose as red as lips. Looks like he has got heavy cold.

    17. That is probably the cutest nose I have ever seen on a bjd, I am currently working on my first faceup and am also giving my little guy a red nose since that's how I draw too, evidently art students really like red noses :p

    18. Wow he is absolutely stunning.

    19. He's adorable. You did a great job(:

    20. Aaah, thank you!!

    21. The red noses are just so cute, I think. I just blushed his chest yesterday and I was trying not to make it too dark, but at least his body matches his face, in a way. Still really glad that I didn't make it as red as I had hoped.
