Aesthetics First face up on Minifee Siean Event Head

Sep 19, 2014

    1. Finished up my first face up the other day, what do you think? And what can I improve on? I was going for a natural barely there look and dislike lip lines so I didn't add them. Surprisingly I thought the eyelashes were going to give me grief when it was the eyebrows(and I draw them just fine). >.>;

    2. Wow, this was your first? I can only hope my first will look so good! :)

    3. Yep, this was my first time surprisingly it turned out much better then i thought in my head. Which is a really nice change of pace, thank you so much for your comment. Any criticism?

    4. This looks great, I wouldn't change a thing, the eyebrows are spectacular! ;)

    5. I know my comment is a little bit late, but this is a really excellent first face up! The colors are perfect (specifically the lips!) and the eyeliner is so straight and perfect! If I HAD to point out anything, it would be that the lower lashes seem a little bit thick, but that's probably honestly just the camera or lighting or something making them look that way. It's all really nice, I doubt my first face up is gonna come out anywhere near as good.

    6. For the first time it is really good! I might have added a few strokes with a darker pencil on the eyebrows to give the faceup a little bit more contrast. But other than that it is a very beautiful, natural looking makeover :) very lovely!

    7. Very lovely! I look forward to seeing with eyes and wig!

    8. It's a great first one! :)

      Lower eyelashes note: they normally grow under about the outer two/thirds of the eye shape, not all the way in to the nose. Check your own to see , too :)
      Keep practicing! Maybe some blushing around the nostrils, inner eye and nose bridge, around the chin, will make a nice middle tone in the face up to tie the two extremes: no color at all vs dark paint lines , more together.

    9. If you are going for a natural look perhaps try dark brown on the eyeliner instead of black. Light blushing around the eyes will add some depth without looking too much like makeup.

    10. The symmetry of the eyebrows and eyeliner looks great! That's what I usually struggle with. ;)

      I think you're about halfway to a completed face-up, and you're off to a good start. For a natural look, I think Zankoku's advice of using brown instead of black for the eyeliner will help soften the eyes and give them a more natural appearance. I'd also suggest adding some more colour or texture (lines) to the eyebrows to make them less flat. Expanding the lip colour to the sculpted edge of the lip and adding more blushing to the head will give her a healthier appearance.
      Here's a blushing guide I use for the natural look: http://fylgjur.deviantart.com/art/Doll-Blushing-Guide-359051317

      Best luck with future painting! :D
