Aesthetics First Ever Faceup

Dec 11, 2016

    1. The final project for one of my classes was "do something creative & bring it to class to share", so I thought sewing an outfit and trying my first faceup would make a great project.

It's a bit rough, but I expected it to be so I'm not particularly upset. It's good enough to show a bunch of non collectors in a college class. :P

After I present her in class this week, I intend to wipe her faceup and give it another go.
I'm investing in some better (and smaller) brushes to do better eyebrows, eyeliner, and attempt some lower eyelashes.

So no, this isn't a masterpiece -- but it's a good start! I know I can only go up from here.
      :)

    2. What a cutie! A good first attempt!

    3. She is really cute! Good for you for tackling freckles on your first try, that took me forever to work myself up to!

    4. Definitely a good first try! The freckles are impressive. I think that getting smaller brushes will really help bring it up another level, especially with the eyebrows. I look forward to seeing your improvements after getting those new tools and giving it another go! :)

    5. I love her! I woukd reccomnd coloring in the inner eye so there won't be a awkward skin color between her eyeball and eyeliner

    6. @PochaET
Thanks for the tip, I didn't even think of that. definitely something I'll do when my tiny brushes come in!
What color? A pinkish like human waterlines? Or just color that part the same as the eyeliner? o:

      @ShyOracle @Midnightferret
Thanks for the comments/compliments on the freckles. Almost all my characters are freckled so I'll be getting an ungodly amount of practice on those in my future in this hobby. :P

My presentation with her today went well, my classmates thought she was both creepy and adorable (50/50 split). So now that I've done that, I'm already making plans to wipe her faceup this weekend.
Hopefully my itty bitty brushes will come in fast enough to give it another try over winter break!

    7. Aww she's cute! I've never done freckles but your's look good! I personally have boycotted all brushes for faceups cause my hand's too unsteady. I wish you luck with tiny brushes! =^w^=

    8. If you did this all with brushes and paint then you have done an amazing first try! I don't even go near paint because I prefer watercolor pencils. I have been working on monster high faceups as practice. The eyebrows look good but those tiny brushes will allow you to achieve much better detail with individual lashes and hairs. Please keep posting your progress~
