Aesthetics First Ever Faceup! Critiques wanted!

Jul 7, 2018

    1. Yesterday, I finally wiped my Resinsoul Bei's default faceup and did my own! This is the first time I've ever done a faceup on any kind of doll, and considering that I'm quite proud of the results! However, I'd love critique, since I know there are things I can improve on! Personally, I'm definitely going to go a bit lighter on the blush next time, and do thicker eyebrows!

    2. Looks great! I love the freckles. I would say next time add color detail around the bottoms of the eyes and around the nose. It helps the features stand out more. I really love it though!

    3. You've done an excellent job! I'm loving how natural the freckles look-- they're so hard to do! I definitely second FrozenSunset, though-- you could definitely try laying some darks around the eyes to help give depth, as well as maybe some darker detailing to the lips! You can also throw in some watered down white paint or white watercolor pencil to bring the lips forward and plump them, and just under the waterline if the eyes to help push a youthful look! It might take a few layers, but it's worth it!

This next bit is more a style preference than anything, but if you wanna give the nose a young button look and bring it forward, you can try a slash of blush across the bridge of the beb's nose! I'm a total sucker for that with freckled faceups!

    4. Thank you both so much for your advice! I’m definitely going to go back and add some highlights and darker detailing when I have the time and it’s not too humid out.

    5. Wow! That's really impressive! You got alot of detail in and it looks near effortless! I esspecially love the eyebrows.

I would recommend perhaps adding some lashes over a darker blushing under the eyes. Also, a waterline helps alot with creating a more realistic faceup. Highlighting will also help bring out contours and make the face look alittle less flat.

The freckles definitely help with that though! So cute!

    6. This is a fantastic first faceup! I love the freckles, that’s something I’ve been scared to try on the head I’ve been working on so far.

You might want to consider making the eyebrows longer. They have a lovely texture, but seem too narrow for his eyes. Not noticeable at all with the wig you’ve chosen, but something to think about if you want to change up wigs in the future!

    7. I think it's a wonderful job for your first one! I tried taking acetone to a barbies face once so I could do my own face up on her and that was a disaster from the start so I know how difficult they are! I LOVE the freckles! I do agree with everyone else, though, some highlighting and shading would be great. I also feel like the lashes would be a nice touch as well! :aheartbea

    8. You did really good! I love how random you made the freckles and made them look natural!

    9. looks good! Personally I would try to get the freckles less opaque. I love the lips tho! so pretty

    10. The freckles are really cute! I'd try adding different tones and opacities of freckles to push the realism :) Also it might look nice to push depth into the lips or eye crease with pastels. All in all though you did an awesome job!

    11. It's honestly really good for a first faceup. I think it could be interesting to ork more on the eyes and maybe give it a better look. I think it could be good to add some black on the eyes too. But in general, it's good ♥
