Here's a belated unboxing photo set of my Syou fullset ! I have been trying to post this for a while and every time I start it something comes up. Some of these pictures are more recent, to get some more informative shots; when I opened her I was pretty eager to get her all dressed and whatnot. I ordered her from Denver Doll and she was in stock, so she arrived in just a few days. She came in a very pretty box that matches the (super cozy) bag she was in. All of her outfit and accessory pieces were in sealed bags or boxes. Didn't take a picture of her CoA before I put it somewhere safe but it was also very pretty and looked kind of like a credit card. I released her from the sleeping bag and... well ! Her feet were on the wrong legs.I ended up just dressing her anyway because with shoes on you couldn't tell, and I'm impatient. They're the right way around now, though - I emailed DDE and they were super helpful in telling me that it was actually a pretty easy fix, even for a beginner. (But for the record, she can still stand with "reversed" feet !) Here are some full shots of her body, post-podiatry. She has the medium bust and small thigh (as opposed to large) on Aimerai's "1/4 Girl Body - MFB04" body, in white resin. Her proportions are a little otherworldly, I think - I really like them on a cat girl but I'm less sold on it for, like, a chibi anime head. The resin is incredibly smooth and velvety, and she feels heavy to me but I don't have any other resin dolls to compare with. She came with silicone discs in her hip and ankle sockets already (possible elsewhere but those are the ones I could see.) Her head is attached with an O-hook and her headcap goes on with a magnet and some tension. The magnets for her ears are on the headcap. I haven't tried removing her head yet since that seems scarier than the feet... I feel like she's pretty tightly strung although again I have nothing to compare with, but not so that I really have to wrestle with her to pose. Except for the bust joint, which really doesn't want to swivel. I can only get it to lean back very slightly. Her arms are double-jointed with kind of a pill-shaped joint that has a thick, immobile band around it. Her arms hold a pose nicely when bent from either half of the joint, and she can touch her face. She's also double-jointed in the legs with the same kind of joint. But her right calf does not want to stay bent from the lower half of the joint, if that makes sense. Her left leg has no problem kneeling, though. Her curvy legs mean that she wo't be able to sit her butt on her shins while kneeling. Here's her outfit and accessories laid out. The skirt closes with a snap and is roomy enough for the larger thigh option as-is (and has a hole for her tail), while the top has two snap options for either bust size. The cuffs of the sleeves fasten with a hook-and-eye to accommodate her hands. The belt also uses a hook-and-eye with two loops depending on bust size, I think, but I had to use the larger option to get it on her over the rest of the outfit. The choker attaches by sliding the embroidery loop over the bead which is clever. She also came with thigh-high sheer stockings, adorable shoes (I hate the "buckle" though, I wish it worked like a normal buckle), some hair clips, and an amazing whaleshark necklace that I had somehow missed in all the promo pics ! Why a whaleshark ?? Of course she also has two ear options (one is more cartoonish and one more realistically shaped) and a tail, both attached with magnets. The ears also came with a pair of extra magnets, which I assume would be for attaching the ears through a very thick wig or something... with a normal wig, the ears attach just fine; the head magnets are really strong. Okay, that was a lot ! I feel like I could go on and on about her, haha. I'll close out with some pictures of her in the outfit (minus stockings and clips) and a faceup close-up. I hope this was helpful for anyone else who is interested in this doll or her outfit ! (Here's a gallery of all these images full-size, plus some that had to get cut for length.)
Really nice box opening photos and description. She’s very pretty and her outfit, shoes, and wig are very pretty as well. Congratulations!
Ooh, that description is so nice and detailed. I feel like the websites don't ever go into enough detail about outfits and such but your descriptions is excellent! Congratulations on such a pretty kitty!
Thank you !! I'm glad this was helpful - I couldn't find any other pictures of Syou (fullset or not) online when I bought her so I want to get some out there.
