Aesthetics First body blush!! Critique please!

Sep 2, 2012

    1. I bought some pastels and did my first blush today on my RS Ya! I was going to a really reddish look. It has touching up to do on the boobs/stomach. This is still WIP. I am doing her backside and touching up right now but here are some pics. She is not sealed. But I have some Krylon Matte Finish-can I use that?
      But anyways-
She has more blush and texture in RL,but my phone didn't get it all v.v

    2. You say you need help? What is it that you are trying to achieve that you are not getting? It's all about the results that you want to get out of this.

It is kind of hard to see what you have from that one picture, but one thing I'd point out is that most more expensive blush jobs no matter what the coloring, usually shade with the darker colors in under spots where natural light would cast shadows, like under the breasts , the lower stomach and such.

Some people just blush the nipples and joints a bit.

Personally I like to blush all the recessed areas and enhance the anatomy. You can see my blushed Asa at the bottom of this page: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?532941-My-Iplehouse-couple-is-here!

    3. I don't have too much experience with blushing so I cant really help you much there, but I would recommend Mr. super clear or zm finishing spray powder, which is cheaper than MSC, you can get at volks usa store online for about $10. I have used krylon and in my experience it has a very long drying time and tends to stay sticky for quite a while, so if you do end up using that spray her and put her somewhere where she can dry for a long time with no dust or lent around, krylon picks up dust like crazy.

On the blushing, I like minimal blushing so it looks good to me, I would just add more on the nipple area.

    4. Please do not use Krylon. It is not safe for resin. If you have to get your sealant at a craft or hobby shop go with Testor's Model Master Lacquer Overcoat Lusterless (Flat). It's better than Testor's Dullcoat. I usually find it by the model cars. Did you seal her before you blushed her?

    5. This is not true. Myself and my friend who have a lot of experience with blushing and face ups use Krylon all the time. It does nothing to the resin. The real issue is making sure not to use it over or under a different spray. Never mix sealants, THAT can damage the resin. But Krylon does not damage the resin.

    6. Thanks everybody.
No,she was no sealed beofre, this was just a practice run. :-/
I did NOT use the Krylon. I actually wiped it and started over with some more orangey. Because when I blushed her nipples and all it start looking too caked on. I will keep you all posted.

    7. On your next try perhaps use a makeup sponge to blend the color in, that helps it from looking powdery and caked on for me.

    8. Your blushing is pretty good u would suggest using lighter shades try mixing peach and mustered yellow that's my favorite for light skintones. And as for krylon. I use it all the time I will say there is a texture to it. so what I do ia use a mix of msc first coat and mix krylon and msc dry time between, on the between layers. The krylon has a lot of tooth to it I've noticed and its not all the time either wich I can't figure it out. Which dosent like to hold color evenly some times. Msc is a better sealent and has much better texture but if you use krylon id try thinner layers alowing them to dry and take a paper towel over the surface between coats do like 3-4 coats before putting any pastel down. Don't let the sealent look shinny when applying that's to thick lol

I'm not an expert but this has been my experiance. Krylon helps me get tr most out of my msc :)

    9. O and just found this out eye shadow sponge things are really great for blending colors. I have like bearly used any brushes lately. The color comes out richer and you can control where it gose.
Also just got a filbert brush in 1/4 I belive and it is amazingly universal.
