So yeah, I'm going to try my hand at making a bjd wig! I did make some wigs for playline dolls before, so I'm aware of the basics, but never made something on this scale. I'm using non-stretchy cotton with fabric tac as a base as this tends to make nice hair wig caps, which I prefer. Looking elegant in her protective sock!
Oh I love those colors you've chosen! I've never seen someone combine that shade of purple and orange, I think this is going to look lovely. Good luck on your project!
Thank you! Currently waiting for the glue to dry, so decided to blush her body a bit to fit her summery vibe a bit more
I'm not too sure about how I want to style it, though atm I'm thinking half long and half short like it is now. I'm too tired to keep on working on it today though
It's nylon hair from the doll emporium. I actually never even knew there was such a thing as alpaca hair wefts until I entered the BJD hobby I used to always reboot my playing dolls, so mainly used nylon for it and it's what I had left haha
Thank you! Even with it not being perfect, I still prefer this wig for her xD It just fits her character so well haha
wow it looks so professional for your first wig! the ginger color was also such a cute color choice - it looks perfect with her freckles
This looks absolutely amazing! My first wig did not look anywhere as good as this! Would you mind sharing how you did her part? I still have trouble with it and yours is done beautifully!
It really looks better than it actually is! What I did is the method I saw most online: place the wefts in the reverse of how they should go and then flip the part to the correct side. - I need to remake her wig because it's really not as good as it could be now that I saw some more tutorials, but I'm also kinda afraid to try Let me take some pictures for you, so you can see what I mean when I say it's not that great from the top Edit, here they are: (excuse the dirty nails, just been rummaging around with my plants)
This looks so good! Especially for your first try at making a wig. My first wig doesn't even lay flat or fit on the head correctly. Keep practicing them and it will turn out amazing soon enough!
