This started has a project to make a breastplate doll but then I chopped the head off the rest of it, hollowed it out, and cut open the eyes. It's still just "roughed out" because I didn't want to risk damaged finer features while I was chipping away at it. Currently working on refining the nose and getting enough clay around the eyes to start balancing their shape. I probably should work on the inner eye sockets first but I need to find my stash of eyes so I can determine the best size. Head is roughly "MSD size". Made from paperclay. View attachment 388
Really good! That is an adorable nose. What are you planning for this head? Are you planning to make a body for it, or do you already have one you want to use?
Thank you~ I don't have any immediate plans for this head aside from just finishing it up in a typical BJD manner. I don't expect I'll cast it or, if I do, it will be from Flumo. I've determined how to make a neck and breastplate for it that would work on a cloth (or needle felted) body so I might do that. This ended up being made mostly on a whim but I hope I can find some way to use/display it nicely!
