Knitting Fingerless Mitts for Lusion Dahlia

Fingerless Mitts for Dollmore’s 80 cm tall Lusion Dahlia, inspired by the tv series “Outlander”

Note: These mitts are simply rectangles in garter stitch. Use subtly variegated or heathery colors to get the “Outlander” look. One mitt has a thumb slot. The other has a thumb slot, but is rotated to show a non-thumb slot option.

U.S. size 2 (2.75 mm) needles and sock yarn

8 sts/inch 16 rows/inch in garter st

Note: Mitts are 3.75 inches wide by 4.5 inches long.

Cast on 30 sts. K every row until piece measures 4.5 inches.
Bind off in k st.
Sew the seam for 1.75 inches, leave seam open for 1.5 inches (thumb slot) and sew ½ inch (4 or 5 sts) to finish seam. Weave in ends.
Note: If preferred, omit thumb slot and sew entire seam.
Make second mitt.

Note: Use a provisional cast-on and kitchener stitch bind-off if you prefer an invisible seam.
