50–65cm Dolls Finally, a body! Putting together my first 1/3 scale doll!

hello everyone!! i thought that since i did an unboxing for little Charlotte, i should do one for her bigger version too!

i ordered a Dollstown 13yr body back in January and have been anxiously waiting ever since. i kept thinking things like "what if i don't actually like the body in person?", "what if 1/3 really is too big for me?" and "what if dollshe's new oriental colour doesn't work at all?". the last scan on her tracking being an "unsuccessful delivery" in korea and then complete radio silence certainly didn't help those anxious feelings either! much to my relief she was delivered to me in the wee hours of the morning today.

of course little Charlotte had to be there while big Charlotte was being torn from her cardboard prison. if you look close you might be able to see that the top of the box is all dented in. i was very concerned when i saw that!


a hint of bubble wrap through the... pack foam things.


there's something about a bubble wrapped doll that will always be funny to me. it's like a little dolly subway.
my first thoughts when i pulled her out the box were " she's huge!" and then "she's so heavy!". the first thing i did after unwrapping the body was check for any damage and luckily there was none! i have a good track record.


a little comparison in my stock standard pose. the Dollstown body is strung fairly loose so it was a little hard to get her to stand but i was able to get it eventually. i have to say, i really love this body; the resin is gorgeous, the sculpting is beautiful (i can't get over her not flat feet!!!!) and the posing is really smooth and fluid as well! i love a doll i don't have to manhandle just to move her arm around. her arms also have the right proportions when bent, which i've found is one of my pet peeves in bjds lol.


she gains a head! a heavily modded Dollmore Hayarn Cho head to be specific! using the same old wig and eyes little Charlotte uses, since they fit (...barely). she's also wearing a nightgown i bought off Mandarake earlier this year. i love the proportions! i'll need to do some mods to the head's neckhole to fit the body better, but for the most part, the hybrid works!
it's fun to look at these two together, and to compare the mods. i've certainly got a lot better at using milliput since i did little Charlotte's ears.

i didn't really take anymore photos, i was too busy enjoying my new hunk of resin! i'm really looking foward to giving big Charlotte a faceup and clothes, not to mention finishing off her mods.

thanks! i was worried that this head + body combo would look off after i realised that this head was smaller than dollmore said it was, but it actually ended up looking better than i thought it would have originally haha.
