So my sweet bird loves to groom my hair, so for about 30 seconds I let him see my Comibaby.. I was there the whole time, and he sang such a sweet song while loving on her hair.. I wanted to share with you all because it was so cute!! Here is a quick picture I took: Do you all ever let pets get close?
I let my dog "meet" my dolls so she gets used to them being around. It helps her understand that they are mine so she leaves them alone too. She was very nervous about my Resinsoul Mu but after that has been fine! I still wouldn't leave her unsupervised anywhere she could reach them though. She likes to pull and tear fur and fabric and I don't fancy losing a wig lol. Edit: I forgot to add that ur birb is mad cute!
That's precious! I don't have a bird, but my cat will lie across a doll if it shows up unexpectedly. Then again, she will lie across pretty much anything that shows up unexpectedly...including a grocery bag...so yeah, she's not particularly interested in them as humanoid. My older dogs ignore them, and my puppy wants to chew on them. 0 for 4 in the cute interactions department, lol.
So far, my dog has ignored them (I've only lived with her for about a week now, though. She's my fiance's dog and I just moved in). She's far more interested in getting pets or having the ball thrown. But she does have some anxiety habits of destruction, so I never leave them out when we're not home.
@Scincidae Thank you!! He has always seemed a bit wary when I get them out; the introduction seems to have helped him quite a bit @ellie his name is Nibble! He is a caique @Chehime you are an amazing person birds are such intelligent creatures and they deserve love and family!! How many do you foster?
Right now I have two foster birds- Samantha and Lyle, sibling Quakers. I have had up to 4-5 birds at a time though. I have really good luck with a lot of my foster cockatiels and they've all found homes I've volunteered to take in a few other birds lately but they've found homes before needing a foster home which is great for them!
That is so amazing!! My husband and I have considered adding a cockatiel but our little caique is definitely the circle of our world right now (well, for the past 4 years hahah) Quakers are so precious-- do you have a favorite breed of bird?
I really love ALL birds. I have a real soft spot for tiels and lovebirds but am just a huge fan of birbs!! I have heard nothing but awesome things about caique and how super fun they are. I've never had the pleasure of fostering one though.
Awww that is darling! My sister's cat is very interested in the smell of resin, but he gets insanely jealous when our other sister's dolls get to sit on her lap while she's sewing, an activity he is not encouraged to help with. He's less upset about my dolls, and my cat doesn't really care about the dolls either way.
Aww bless, Nibble is so cute! Caiques are so full of fun! We have 3 birds currently and we’re collecting a 4th in a few weeks when it’s ready as it’s still being hand raised. Kupo and his wife Luna are Parrotlets, our ‘problem child’ Kira is a Green Cheek Conure and the one we’re waiting for is a Moustached Parakeet. There’s no way I’d let them near my BJD, especially Kira as she destroys anything she can chew!
@Blodeuwedd Awhh, that is so exciting!! Green Cheek Conures are a favorite breed of mine too!! Nibble loves to destroy things, so it was definitely a very short interaction
