Hi y'all! So, for my dolls, I have two couples and one singleton (poor guy, I'm out of space so he may stay alone). I've recently realized that my two couples are standing in pretty much the exact same pose! Does anybody have particular favorite poses for displaying their couple dolls that they would recommend? They're both big 1/3 scale boys who use saddle stands, so unfortunately posing can feel a little bit limited by what they can balance doing. Specifically, I'm looking for a new pose for my Sanemi and Giyuu dolls, if anybody familiar with the ship wants to give their input.
I personally have, for both drawing and posing, a pinterest board with a bunch of photos and drawings of different poses for inspiration. I tend to organize them by type - sitting poses, couple poses, hands and feet, etc.
Hmmm you're right, stands can limit posing. I would think holding hands is easy to do. What about side hugs or hugging from behind?
This one's my favorite pose I've had a couple in, because it's so casually comfortable with each other.
If you have chairs for your dolls, you could always do a classic and have one standing behind the chair with their hand on the shoulder of the one sitting in the chair.
My couples/pairs are normally using stands or sitting on a couch doing super basic poses because I'm not that great at posing. Here are a few examples. There's nothing crazy, but it gets the job done for me.
You can experiment with angles and get creative with stands or no stands ans weight balance. ID75 + ID75, some examples. More under spoiler cut as per declutter rules. Spoiler: More pics
I haven't been paying much attention to my larger dolls recently, but these are two 72-75cm dolls sitting side-by-side, with torso and arm manipulation to get them to lean closer and cuddle. This is making me think I need to get a chair for my boys! That would also free up space for one more boy for my singleton, hmm... if anybody has any recommendation for good doll furniture companies, do share!
At one point, I put my girl dolls in my guy dolls lap. They were positioned on the corner of my dresser. Currently my azone girl is sitting higher than the male doll (and holding a teacup) but they are looking in the same direction, at the same objects like they're watching something together.
