Favorite/Least favorite doll you own?

It's hard to pick a favorite, I have a small army and have been in the hobby forever....
However my top picks though are:
Thaddeus my 2nd ever male doll, he is the limited 50 version of the Elf Doll Rainy Aden. His reasons for making the "favorites list", he was my 2nd male BJD and 4th ever BJD. For having the most basic double jointed elbows and only single jointed style knees he pose pretty damn good. He's face up has lasted since I got him Halloween of 2008, and he has barely yellowed in that time. (he has yellowed but it has been very mild and very even.) Also his character means a lot to me, so he will always be a favorite.

Also a forever favorite is Kyle, both versions of him. Short version of an overly complex story, Kyle is a "shelled" O.C./RP character and has two different dolls as the character has two forms. Both versions have the same head which is an Iplehouse vampire Chris. The main diff is body and resin color, one is a gray skinned Iplehouse YID, and his other is a normal skinned SID Iplehouse. Also face ups the gray one has a company face up from when I got him, and the other has a custom face up done by one of my best friends. Both are fav dolls and I love how the Chris mold looks as a vampire. As for the differences in the dolls I love those too. I love YID bodies even if they are fiddley to pose, and on the flip side I also love how nice and easy SID model bodies pose. I love how both look. (even if I have plans to mod the SID version of Kyle slightly in the future.)

Lastly not so much a this one doll is a favorite, but more of these few dolls are favorites and why. I love the new Fairyland Feepole 60 male body, I can't say enough good things about how they pose and look. The one down side is hard to find clothing for them, but some Smart Doll stuff fits these guys so there is that. Also I love how any f60 doll can be male or female or non-binary based on how Fairyland does their doll heads and necks.

On the Flip side, I sold my first least favorite doll a long time ago. I wont call out company or doll mold, but it didn't pose well and the company sales photos were touched up to hide a glaring flaw of the doll, that in person said flaw was too much for me to overlook. It was a lovely doll, but not for me. I've sold a few dolls that I have fallen out of love with, or that were things like event gifts/event heads. If I can't bond or fall out of love with it, I've learned it's better to let dolls go. in most cases as I do still have one doll I can actually call my least fav. However vs selling that doll as it was from a cheaper company, I feel it will be of better use as a tool to learn how to do extreme mods on.

 

It's hard to pick a least favourite for me ;w;
basically i luv them all, so i keep them with me.

My all time favourite should be my SWITCH RYUZO twins, they were my OCs which i created when i was small. I spent lots of time to make a BJD version of them, selecting the models, the body types, finding a suitable face up artist for them etc...

 

My favorite doll right now would be Peakswoods Gumiho Miro. I don't have a favorite male doll yet. My least favorite is Doll Chateau Kyra because she cost a lot for her size and I don't have anything in her size. She is a pretty doll, but I'm not sure I want to put effort into this doll.

I always regret my Idealian dolls because right after I finish paying off the doll a new more handsome Idealian doll is for sale. With idealian I can never decide which face sculpt I like best and if I should wait for the next doll for sale. That's why I think I would consider my Idealian as my least favorite male dolls because I keep wanting their new dolls right after I finished paying off the previous one which makes me regret the previous doll. It's an endless cycle of buying then regretting then wanting the next doll of theirs that look so handsome. I don't want to part with any of my idealians, but maybe once I find the one I like best I will sell some.

 

My favorite dolls are Doll Chateau Gladys and now my Fairyland Luha on a Doll Leaves body. I love them for their overall look and their face-ups are so very beautiful. I think some times I may have a least favorite but then I pick them up and I change my mind.

 

Elfie (RML R20J/Volks Swarrico hybrid) is my favourite. She was one of my first few BJD and has never been ousted from the favourite place.

Least favourite... is a hard one. The ones I don't mesh with tend to get moved on.
Mal (44cm Limho Mono)... gets the least attention/play, I suppose. But it's more becuase he's, by character, quiet and shy and blends into the background, not really because he isn't a favourite.
Winnie (DollsTown Aline 5Year)... it's more that I don't like the only name that worked for her.

My favorite doll is my dear Emmeline! I bought her from a friend and love her to bits.

I've sold my least favorite dolls by now. (They were mostly off-topic.) I'd have to say that I was most disappointed with my Bobobie Elfkin, Johnny. He was super cute but had a terrible time posing! More recent bodies by that company have been much better though.

 

Favorite: Pukifee Ante
Least favorite: Lati White Hana, I like the sculpt, resin, and faceup but she’s just too tiny so I can’t find a variety of clothes and shoes. She is cute as a doll for the yosds but she would be the first to go if I sold any.

 

I would have to say that my absolute favorite (although I absolutely love and am bonded to each and every one of them) is Bohemia Rose, my Dollzone Anson (see avatar.) I’d been contentedly collecting for about 4 years, and I was looking for a sculpt I could really turn into a grand art statement. When Dollzone released their flower dolls, I was completely mesmerized! Nothing short of the devil walking through the front door would have kept me from getting this doll! Once she arrived, I spent an entire month’s worth of 8 hour days completing her artwork. When she was done, with an equally huge and definitive character attached, she simply eclipsed every other doll I owned and they became redundant. So I sold all the others, and began my collection anew, focussed around her. It was the best decision I ever made, and I’ve been happily building my collection ever since.

For my least favorite, Although I truly do love him to bits and would never, ever let him go, it’s my little Realpuki, Casper (Fairyland Obi.) I mean, really? That’s a face only a mother could love. But it’s absolutely perfect for his goofy, ghostly little character. So he’ll never be going anywhere.

 

Ok so I would love to contribute, though it's harder to say favorite and least favorite exactly. It's easier to say dolls who do not make me crazy vs dolls who make me crazy I'm also no stranger to selling off dolls I really don't like so there have been many who did not make the cut up to the current day.

Current day:
Mirodoll 60cm boy body is the uncontested worst body I own and probably could own. But it isn't bothering me because I feel with this specific body it has enough pros at the price point to be worth being a bit stupid. The head I use on it I don't like proportionally on any other body I ever tried.
Loongsoul ChenXing will always be the champion of dolls I find difficult. She has gigantic boobs, very long, thin legs, and a tiny wasp waist. Which i mean... Is why I bought her but sewing is not so fun as an added bonus she was an early doll of mine and I don't really like the face style either. It's beautiful just not the round face shape I ended up preferring. But I've decided that even though I have all these troubles with her I think I will keep her forever because I do love her regardless.
Bobobie Pandora is really annoying to pose in my opinion and like ChenXing has the longer or heart face shape that I really don't love but once again I don't think I'll get rid of her anytime soon. I guess I just love punishment but I do need to remember never to buy that face shape again.
Eh this has been an example more than anything of how the hobby impairs your judgement I guess

I don't know how to say favorite, I love them all so much lol. And my mood changes a bit on them.

My favorite is definitely my Dream Valley Chaos - literally everything I like in a doll both sculptwise and themewise rolled up into one extremely unwieldy four-legged package. The body surely has its quirks but I'm familiar with them at this point and they don't bother me much. My wife thinks it's funny I tried to act like I didn't want him based on how much I baby him now haha.

Least favorite... I don't dislike any of my dolls, but if I had to call one out it's probably my tan MDD. Inexplicably the frame has been 100x fussier and prone to disassembly than my other two DDs ever since he came home from Dream Choice. I've done a lot of maintenance on it but all the tightening in the world and he still doesn't want to keep one of his arms up Sometimes I just want to shake him, not that it would help.

I'm writing this with him directly next to me though, so he's not exactly unloved - both dolls are actually different versions of the same OC, in fact. Funny how that works out.

 

I have not regretted getting non-standard body dolls. Back when I started the hobby what qualified as easy to dress seemed very limited anyway (basically Volks standard sizes) but the girl I was complaining about is another level over most. But she was the one I can thank the most for teaching me sewing so I have no serious complaints. there is a lot to be said for how you look at things, it's ok if problems are discouraging but I think some people don't mind persistent challenges a lot.

 

It's hard to pick because I have a hard time separating doll from character. Like Bren (Migidoll Siho on MYOU body) and Cooper (Migidoll Cynical Yujin soon to be on Luts Muse body) are my favorite characters and I do love their sculpts, but I think going strictly by full doll only, Opaline (ResinSoul Mi) or Elsa (Zaoll Luv) might be my favorites. I love that they're not hybrids, and both are so pretty from head to toe!

My least favorite is this old Migidoll body I have. It looks fine, but the posing is pretty bad and I don't know how to make it better. Restringing didn't help. Sueding didn't help. I don't like wired dolls.

EDIT: Getting Cooper on that Luts Muse body has definitely made him one of the favorotes now! It's one of the prettiest make bodies I've seen and poses so well! And now he also has 4 heads he alternates between...so...yeah. He's the fave. But I also got Monroe (Dollmore Kara Klum) since I posted this, and I adore that guy too! So...probably between those two and Opaline.

 

My favorite is my Iplehouse Mari. If I had to give up every doll but one - she would be the one I would keep. She was my first BJD love, and that old charm is still there. I smile every time I see her. Love her so much.

My least favorite? Even though it is an absolutely beautiful, gorgeous doll, my Dolfie Dream, and for one very simple reason: the staining. It's dreadful. A wig briefly (like, an hour, tops) touched a DD hand, and now the hand is stained. Stuff that doesn't stain my BJDs or playline/off-topic dolls stains the vinyl. Even after I soak all clothing, it stains the vinyl. I love the doll. Do not love how high-maintenance it is. And the vinyl feels so fragile in comparison to resin.

This is probably not going to be a popular opinion, lol.

 

My least favorite doll is my DIM girl. I bought her secondhand through a WTB and the prev owner I think modified the hooks in her hands and feet, so the caps over her wrists get stuck all the time and she's impossible to pose. She's also incredibly difficult to shop for, and that's one of the biggest reasons why I wound up getting rid of all my MSDs over 45cm tall. Still, I'm not getting rid of her because I love her face and proportions too much.

 

I have a very difficult time separating doll from character, and because of that picking a favorite isn't that easy. But, I would have to say my favorite characters are Cory (DZ Shengxi/AoD 1st gen), Bella (DZ Orlando/AoD), and Willow (Obitsu Laura/50cm). Those three are my favorite characters, but I also love their sculpts (Cory so much that he's one of triplets because I have 3 of that head). If I had to go strictly off the doll itself with no knowledge of their character, I'd likely still pick Cory, or my Mirodoll Mika or 5Star Michelle.
Least favorite, again, comes down to character, since it would be my BBB Charisma boy. Great sculpt and decent body, but the character has been difficult for me to bond with so it's just... meh.

 

My #1 favorite of my squad is my Dream Valley Bless, Ghost. The next runner-up is Webb, my Dream Valley Rah. Cross, my Dream Valley Chaos, is also amongst my favorites. Those are the ones that I handle most often.

Least favorites are probably my Resinsoul Mei, Resinsoul Nian, and Dollzone yosd Little Rain. It's no surprise that they were all impulse purchases that I ind of regret now.

 

I think it would be kind of mean to pick one to be my least favorite. I bought them all and keep them with me, they wouldn't be home by now if I secretly considered any of them my 'least favorite'.
My favourite is Lianda, of course, the lovely smile of the Narae 412 brightens my day everyday. Her body (LegendDoll 42cm), on the other side, may be my least favourite part of any of my dolls because the back bends weird all the time and it's really hard for her to stand and even harder to pose... She's in desperate need of a hot glue and maybe wiring and I cross my fingers for this to solve it.

 

I currently have 5 dolls and one head. The one that just arrived still has no faceup but I have solid plans for it and if they work out, she's gonna be so loveable So it's hord to tell now.

However, I jurdge my favouring in the following manner:
If I were to keep only one, I'd keep my sleeping Supia Lina, but not sure if on the boy's body still (he's a boy now).
If I were to keep only two, I'd keep my Supia Lina boy and my BC Kaorin girl. They're a couple.
If I were to keep only three, I'd keep the said couple and my Volks Nana. She's been with me the longest and I love her.
If I were to keep only four (so gie away one full doll and one head), I'd probably keep the three mentioned above and my Supia Rosy but see if it fits the Zaoll body.

So... turns out, the Supia Body and the Zaoll Luv face are what I like the least... The supia body is just too booby (however beautifully sculpted) and the Zaoll head... it'd need a different faceup, but I'm just being stingy :P

I am, however, emotionally attached only to the three dolls I love best: Supia Lina, BC Kaorin and VS Nana. Supia Rosy and Zaoll Luv are lovely but I don't feel connected to them. They lack "personality"... Maybe it's because I didn't paint them myself and did no modifications on them at all?

 

I love my dolls, but I do have favorites and a least favorite. My most favorite dolls are my Harucasting Morae and my Souldoll Vito Liam. My least favorite doll is my Feeple60 Momo, she is cute, but I am not sure what to do with her.

 

My favorite doll usually goes between Erina (Minifee Alicia), Londyn (Harucasting Ippo), and Kellan (Harucasting Its), I call them my "comfort dolls." I love all of my dolls but those three are the ones I've bonded with the most. I have the hardest time bonding with my Si Cang Ahe and Minifee Chloe. I think with Ahe it's because he's a WS doll and even though I LOVE his character and his look, I'm just not a fan of WS. I have no idea why I'm struggling bonding with Chloe, I adore her faceup. I ordered her a new custom wig to see if that helps

 

My favorite is Hina, my Lieselotte. She is the cutest and I never expected to be able to get one. I'll never let her go now!!

My least favorite is my fullset Littlefee Leah. She's cute but fullsets aren't really my thing and neither are tinies. I could just dress her in something else but getting myself to sew that small is like pulling teeth.

 

When it comes to favorites, it can be hard to sometimes separate the bjd from the character they're shelled as. If I were to go by bjd aesthetics alone, my favorites would be amongst these three: Mundei (Dollshe King Corey, he's my one true grail in the bjd hobby), Nira (Imp|doll Azalea, for her custom resin color and her poseability), and Tahno (Dikadoll/Popodoll hybrid—the one in my avatar, and...just because ). Tahmos (Fantasia doll Isaac/Ringdoll RGM-3 hybrid, for the lovely body sculpting) and Aqqen (Fantasia doll Jin/Arkdoll hybrid, he's a great sloucher and I love his facial features) would be close followups.

Least favorites...that’s a tough one. Least faves usually get rehomed, and it's hard to say which of my current crew would be a default least favorite. The ones from my rehomed list (most are bodies over full dolls): Classy doll 66cm boy body (it had the most awkward body proportions, and the knees were known to be especially fragile), Mirodoll 65cm male body (the posing was atrocious, but the real clincher was the wonky single-jointed knees), and B&G Triya (she was my first bjd, and I wasn't able to bond with her long-term due to change in aesthetics tastes—and her generic, child-like appearance).

If I were to pick a least favorite from my current bunch…it would probably be Kismet (Fairyland minifee Mika/Mir). I don't dislike her by any margin, she is just the farthest from my preferred aesthetic amongst my crew.

 

My favorite is all 3 of my Bambicrony Emilys! And my least favorite...is all of the ones I've sold over the years lol. I am very happy with my current collection of 6.

 

I think it's really funny the reactions that it's too mean to pick a least favorite because I saw the thread title and was like "aw, nooo the poor dolls"
To be extremely honest, I am so obsessively emotionally invested in my dolls that I have a predictable cycle of idealization and devaluation which is exhausting and I don't recommend it. It's most realistic for me to look at my collection as: dolls I feel positive about most of the time, dolls I love but also get easily frustrated with, and dolls that so far frustrate me more often than not. I also have a sad army of ones I'm currently trying to guilt myself into loving more but realistically am just a bit apathetic about. It's all very stupid

The matrix of what creates the different feelings is a bit complicated but it's mostly summed up by, my favorites are ones that are photogenic enough that I don't disappoint myself, are easy enough to do with whatever I'm wanting to do and I know and feel excited or happy or comfortable about whatever their visual and character concept is.
The least favorites are just ones that are more work than fun at the time.

 

My favorite is probably tied between Louise, my Telesthesia and Dragon DiFei, and Liam, my Immortality of Soul Valentine. Louise was my very first doll and I am super attached to her. Liam...He is just my baby. I have only had him finished about 6 months but I just adore him. He is already my second most spoiled doll behind Louise.
Least favorite is probably my Resinsoul Twilight. I just can't bond with her. She has completely rejected every wig, every pair of eyes, every outfit and every character I have tried to give her. I just don't know what to do with her. I don't dislike her, I'm just tired of her being unfinished.

 

least faves feels mean but I have several dolls who have quirks that drive me INSANE.

My mirodoll 1/4 girl has the worst engineered body i've ever seen. The hands have oval shaped wrists which then are trying to ram into a round hole and obviously it doesn't work. The arms can barely bend... it's just all around terrible. But it was cheap and the colour I needed for a hybrid. But i'd never buy another.

My spirtdoll girl has HUGE boobs which I find really offputting. She was secondhand so had I had the option i'd have never gotten her with that bust size. She's gorgeous otherwise but those boobs... yikes. I've considered in the past sanding the damn things.

speaking of sanding giant titties, my bobobie ariel got this done. She was another secondhand doll and bobobie's larger bust is really big but also not very well sculpted imo. I hated how her giant nipples poked through everything and how her bust looked like a big shelf so I took a dremel to her. She still has quite a bust but it's more acceptable to my eye and she lost her nipnops hahaha.
MUCH better.

The double jointed resinsoul boy and girl bodies drive me nuts too. I HATE those elbow caps they use. They spin and interfere with the arm rotation and arghhhh. The boy one seems worse and it drives me mad. My resinsoul Ming also has really annoying legs that refuse to stay in the hip.
But I love my resinsoul dolls for their colours and their face sculpts. I just really dislike the engineering on a lot of the bodies. It's super frustrating. It's why most of my later resinsoul purchases have been their newer body types because they have proper peanut joints.

ALL my dollchateau yosd dolls can't stand. Not one of them. The tension of the elastic through those absolutely tiny channels results in a doll with uneven tension and floppy bits and no amount of restringing or trying to tighten things up seems to help. I just cannot get them to stand and it's upsetting because I LOVE their sculpting but they fall on their face constantly. ARGH.

Faves? I have to admit, my medieval fantasy crew have a special place in my heart. They were my first bjd group and all of them have a whole backstory and stuff. They were a PAIN to get clothes for, but I love how much personality they seem to have even just standing on my shelf.
All of them are resinsoul dolls now. I recently reshelled one of them from a hujoo body which drove me mad to a newer resinsoul which is such a huge improvement omg.
He needs restringing because he's super floppy right now, but I love his face so much.

 

OMG I had one of those Mirodoll bodies. Drove me NUTS. 100% a square peg in a round hole situation.
I don't know if you're interested in rebodying, but the newer Resinsoul bodies have much smaller busts (especially the new Shi body).
I use plastic-coated wire to keep the legs from twisting, TBH.

 

Yah she's a specific colour so it works okay. I ended up sticking some resinsoul hands on which fit soooo much better omg.

 

If I had to choose just one, my Latidoll M would be my favorite, as he was my first doll. Joining him in the "you're stuck with me forever" crew are my Crobidoll Heena & my Luts Winter 2014 SDF. All three of them are so expressive and I adore their faces!

My least favorite is actually the body of my Crobidoll Heena. I love her so, so much, but I despise the body she's on and want to replace it. It's beautiful, but even with recent sueding and restringing it does not pose well at all, and it's so heavy that it's much harder to compensate for that than you can with 1/4 scale and smaller. It's also very unstable in basically any position. As such, I don't do much with her and that makes me very sad since she's so gorgeous.

 

My favorite doll is probably my moss fairy, Amethyst; I love her customizations! She's so fabric, literally!

My least favorite, I'm not sure. Maybe the smaller two, Sno and Pavasaris, which I'm giving soon!

 

It's a tie between my SDM Oliver and YoTenshi Yuki!
Yuki was a restoration project I've grown attached to, but Oliver is so beautiful I'm in awe still.

 

My least favorite doll is also my most spoiled one? In my attempt to bond with her, she has more clothes and props than any other doll in my collection. Combined. She's easy to shop for at least, being a 1/6 size and a child. Sooo..... Lots of miniature toys and plush toys lol.

 

My favorite doll is my girl, Nola. She's an Aimerai Scraps head on a DC Y-body-04. She is just so beautiful to me and I love sewing for her. I just bought a new doll, but Nola will always be my girl. I tend to sell dolls that I am not absolutely in love with. I have a DC Ada and a Dividing Line doll from the blind boxes, and I enjoy them and don't have plans to sell them, but if I had to sell a doll for any reason, it would be one of them before Nola. I hope that I create the same bond with the doll I just bought. I am in love with her head, but I am not 100% sure about her body, and bodies are a big part of dolls for me.

 

Tied in between my Simply Divine Thomas and my Soom Sard. My mom always tells me her favorite is Thomas I love my others just as much but those two seem to get my most attention. I had a few dolls I didn’t love as much as I thought I would when they arrived, my Iplehouse Ron comes to mind but over the years I have felt a stronger connection to him and some of those others.

In terms of least favorite I have a few project dolls here including a MYOU doll that I ended up not liking the headsculpt very much.

 

I always joke that if I had to keep just one doll, "it'd be Stella and I'd hide Pip in my pocket". Stella is my OOAK hybrid Fairlyand Littlefee Pipi with Soom Ai hooves and a lot of modwork I did all myself. She's a singularly individual dolly and I could never replace her. I just adore her.

 

As far as the actual doll goes and not the character, my angelphilia Sizuka (Amry) is my treasure She has such a cute little face and her lips are so sweet; I had planned on customizing her faceup when I got her but the one she came with has such pretty painting on the lips I can't find it in me to wipe it. And the body is so nice, I'm a sucker for soft skin vinyl and there's an attention to detail that I really like. She is difficult to find clothes for though. I'm not a huge fan of some of angelphilias more... Extreme features, but I did end up getting a slightly bigger bust for her which is difficult to accommodate with MSD sizes.

I think ATM my least favorite is my BBB Sui. I like the face well enough, even though his head is a bit small so it looks kind of off next to my other dolls. I HATE the body though. I was super excited about the dragon body but it's super clunky and you can really tell it wasn't meant for posing. On the plus side with the tail he stands really well lol... He'll be getting a new body soon so hopefully that'll help.

 

My Mayfair Sweet is the pride and joy of my small collection. She is currently the only artist doll I own, but I love her because she is super unique and I am pretty sure they aren't made anymore.

 

I dont really like my doll leaves Matthew, he looked nice in the photos but when I got him I wasn't so thrilled..I mean he is nice I guess but meh. so now he just sits in the corner of a display case.

I can't really explain why I don't like him, maybe because it's a small doll ? I don't know. My absolute favourite though is my dollmore lusion (I'm saving up for another one I think haha)

It made me realise that I do prefer the bigger dolls.

 

My current favorite is between volks Cain and kurumi ...

 

Ooh this one's tough. I can pick out things i love and don't love about all my dolls, i think, but i'm not sure i have a "least favourite" necessarily. (At least, not in the crew i'm keeping!)

i think my favourite overall has to be the girl in my profile image, Aurélie (Souldoll Kuu vampire). She's one of two dolls i bought before developing a character and i absolutely love her. My only critiques are the well-known mobility issues with the SoulKid bodies (hers is the "NL big breast" version) and its weird wrists especially.
Briar (a Unoa Chibi Lilin) is a close second, and the other doll i bought before having a character! i love her so much i want to hybrid her to be closer to a 1/4 scale, then reuse the body (because i looooove Unoa bodies!)
Another might get added to the "favourites" list when my Withdoll Rachel vampire's body arrives, she'll be a DFH hybrid.

i guess if i were really pressed i'd say my least favourite might be my Pukifee Luna. i'm not a big Fairyland fan usually, and i think i got the worse end of the trade i got her in, including a few pieces of undisclosed minor damage. But she's perfect for the character i made for her, and she's utterly adorable, and i'm definitely not getting rid of her.

i've sold on most of the dolls i would actually call my "least favourite". For example, i currently have a doll and a floating head that i got that i really hoped to bond with, but they aren't a scale i can work with, so they're up for sale. i've sold more dolls than i've kept at this point, but now i've got a much better idea of what i want for my crew and which dolls i'll bond with.

 

It's hard to pick just a favorite, but I think out of my completed dolls that my Peaks Woods Vampire Fairy Mona. My favorite sculpt overall is my Peaks Woods Hunky Dory, even though she's just a head right now.

My least favorite is my Doll Leaves Betty. It's not like she's a bad doll or anything, she's just not my aesthetic and doesn't really fit in with my other dolls.

 

favorite dolls: eslyndoll, popovy sisters, chimeradoll. Unloved dolls do not live with me. If I don’t like the doll, then she leaves to live in another house.

I don't have a favourite or least favourite doll, I love all of them.

Objectively, I do not like tiny dolls, but even the one tiny doll I have is not my least favourite. She was my one and only grail tiny and I feel her place is perfect in my group, being the littlest one.

I think if I could envision a doll being a least favourite, it probably means that it doesn't belong in my collection.

 

My favorite doll changes depending on who I'm handling at the time, tbh. All of my doll exist in a nebulous space where I love them all and feel nothing for them all at the same time, and whenever I focus on one, my feelings come back. Then there are those where the love no longer exists. Those least favorites tend to be ones I'm ready to sell, and like others have said, least favorites don't stay in my collection for long.

 

Favorite resin BJD is probably Maryse, because of her convenient size, poseability, and sentimental value- but I have only two (soon to be three), so I don't really have a least favorite. As other people have said, if I don't like a doll, I don't hang onto her for very long.

 

I tend to cycle through who gets the most attention at different times but my consistent faves are Michi (DZ shoyo hybrid) and Nuoyi (Doll Legend Nuoyi hybrid). I feel like Vickie and Nonoo get the least attention, although I do love their lil faces a lot so I would't quite call them "least favourite", they just get their turn less often. I also tend to prefer my dolls for different reasons, so it's not always comparable.

Like for many others, the least favourites just get sold after a while. I try to keep my collection small in numbers, which means lining them up and downsizing every now and then, but preferences change and I'd rather not have "filler" I'm unable to enjoy as much.

 

My most favored doll in my collection is definitely Aiyu, thanks to her status as my grail and being the original roots that later grew into the tree of my dolls' "story." While she's not always the doll I reach for or think about (everyone gets their turn!), she gets more than her fair share of time in the spotlight.

I wouldn't say I have a least favorite in my resin collection. If pressed, I may say Marcie, as she is the farthest from being "complete" out of my existing crew, or Phoebe, as she strays the farthest from my typical scaling preferences, or any of my floaters by virtue of being floaters, but I wouldn't say I'm lukewarm on any of them, let alone actively dislike them. As with others, dolls I'm neutral-to-negative about don't stick around for very long, not when the money gained from selling them can be used to fund something I like better.

 

Whoever I'm handling at the moment is my favorite, lol. Though I think Minka (Miyadoll Vivienne), Saga (DF-H Xiao Chan) and Aino (Dollmore Illua Lillia) get the most attention. Minka and Saga I'm the most emotionally attached to, and Aino's face fixes all my problems in 0.5 seconds.

Least favorite at the moment is probably Pihla (Monday/Qianhe Zhizhi) but that's only because of my internal struggle of wanting to mod her face some more but really not wanting to redo her faceup...
(Truthfully, my newest addition, a Huajing and Fatemoons hybrid is the least loved in my collection, but that's only because I haven't had the time to give her a face up or make a wig or clothes. Who knows how obsessed I'll become when I get to paint her)

 

My favorite is soolee Drayton (my little Monica vampire Chloe and volks ludo is a close second favorite)
I don't have a least favorite but vampire Philip is the hardest to deal with because he's more realistic than all my other dolls. He's the only non anime doll I have.

 

Some of my Grail dolls are my least favorite dolls due to their height. I still want a Volks SD16/17 Yukinojo, but I didn't buy him due to his height (and obviously his cost). It was too cumbersome for me as he is super tall and I'm pretty short. I regret not getting him and I still want him because he is handsome and got me first interested in the hobby, but his height will remain an issue for me. Same with my other Grail doll Volks SD13 Amakusa. Took me years to get him, but his height makes it hard to figure out where to put him as he is pretty tall and his fullset outfit kind of lends itself to be displayed prominently with him standing up. Love him and am grateful to have him, but he is a tall boy for me. Like, I really love the tall male BJDs, but their heights are not practical for me.

My longtime favorites were SD10s sizes. But now I find myself favoring Volks DearSD sizes and my one Volks Yo-SD. I have chronic pain now so having something that is easier to carry and lift and is less awkward for me to hold is valuable compared to where I would carry around an SD10 wherever. I miss lugging around my favorite SD10, but I can't anymore. My aesthetics will remain for SD10s, SD13s, SDGrs, and the occasional SD16/17s, but the DearSD and Yo-SD sizes are just so convenient.

Still love anything themed fantasy/sci-fi...but I don't like how much those usually cost. Hahaha.

I also don't like how the BJDs I really like and want tend to be limited editions that are hard to even get. Like, it is a breath of fresh air when I really like a standard doll that is easily accessible to purchase. But it is always those LEs.....My Grail list grows.

 

Dropping my two cents in here

For me my favorite fluctuates because it is hard to separate character from doll. But one of my consistent favs is Nicodemus(switch dojin on old senior self body). I mean all the elaborate lacy, sheer clothing / elaborate jewelry, all the nice eyes and best wigs go to him. Probably because he is one of my oldest OC’s and I spoil him rotten.

My least favorite has got to be my Notdoll Citron bleu who is a shell of Diogenes another old OC. While I am totally in love with the head, I despise the body and with notdoll resin colors being so unique I’ve never found a pinky white resin boy body to match. So alas he says in a box….

 

My favorite is/has always been/will always be, my first doll Nadeko (Standard VOLKS SDG Megu).
Up until recently I would have agreed that choosing a least favorite isn't possible but unfortunately that's no longer true.
My least favorite is beyond a doubt a doll that was gifted to me a few years back. I tried to enjoy her and did for a time but the fact that I never truly wanted her in addition to the person who gifted to me and I have growning apart and are no longer being on speaking terms (as was their decision) has made it even more difficult to enjoy this doll.
I would love to re-home her someday soon but I don't currently have the time to research her current market value nor continuous bump a sales thread to do so.

 

With my doll family being in the triple digits, it's literally impossible to pick a singular favorite. My first two dolls always come to mind, Makenshi and Caspien, and of course Akihito who is so so special to me for so many reasons...but when I go through my list I can easily pick out 20 I couldn't live without who are so deeply loved beyond all the rest. (Caspian, Ember, Shae, Zeph, Miki, Spencer, Ripley, Kris, Kain, Suzabelle, Korin, Arabella, Octavian, Len, Zaeem, Etheirys, Ruben...) I brought them home and they've never left for a reason. It is a mix of character love and doll love, as some on this list are so derpy and have so many issues with posing or breakage (looking at you Spencer..) and objectively they shouldn't be as much of a favorite as they are but their character and overall charm mixed with sentimentality and the experiences I've had with them make them as loved as they are.

Picking least favorites is harder, as I guilt myself over it. But that said...I have a very easy least favorite. My Luts Abadon, Louie. He was bought as the Commander of Blue Knights fullset (minus faceup) and he was awesome in that form. His character helped shape my entire doll world that I have today and he very quickly formed a bond with one of my other dolls. However...his story changed and I fell out of love with his knight body that was stuck in armor boots all the time which was super limiting, so I sold his body and outfit and replaced it with a SSDF body. But...I hate this body for him. It's too short and his hands fall off all the time, and posing it just isn't fun for me. I don't feel the same vibe from the character, and it's changed the relationship he has with the other doll he was bonded with. It's to the point now that I have wanted to sell him for years, but he's tied into my overarching doll story and needs to be in a few more photostories before I can let him go. This is a problem I have created for myself.

Other than him though, I have a handful of dolls who feel sort of empty. They are pretty to look at but they don't speak to me and I don't play with them much if at all. They're low on the list and will likely be rehomed when they no longer spark joy for me. Generally though, I have to really fall out of love with a doll to let them go. Probably why my numbers are so high.

 

i really love my entire doll collection; each doll has their own unique little niche in it and i would honestly feel like something was missing from the whole if any of them were gone.

that said-- i do have a few that would probably qualify as particular favorites. Matilda, my Islanddoll Noah girl, just because she's so ridiculously gorgeous; Vira, my Iplehouse Audrey, because i love the character she represents and i see so much of that personality in her sculpt; Janet, my Dikadoll Aqua girl, because every one of my dolls has their own personal style and hers is so fun to make clothes for.

i don't have a least favorite; even as i was listing the three i just mentioned, i kept thinking of things i really like about all the others. i guess if i had to pick something...my first bjd was a hybrid of an Elfdoll Rita head on a Mirodoll body, and that body was horrible, so much so that I gradually replaced bits of it to make it less sucky. now she has Iplehouse hands and Angell-Studio heel legs. she looks much nicer, but the whole mess is, shall we say not a fantastic poser...and the Mirodoll resin has faded and yellowed much faster than her other parts, so even though the whole hybrid matched well when i put it together, i've had to take her apart and do a bit of a color refresh with dye on just her Miro torso/arms. so her body is definitely a pain and my least favorite doll body...but i can't say that the doll herself overall is my least favorite! i still think she's just as beautiful as i did when i decided she was going to be my first bjd-- probably more so, since over a decade later my doll styling abilities are way improved.

i did have one doll head years and years ago that i didn't keep-- she was the second doll i ever got, a 5Stardoll Becca. i still have her body, but it has a Supia Muriel head on it now. she was so pretty in her sales photos but in person her head just turned out to be way too stylized/cartoony/unrealistic for my taste, especially next to Elfdoll Rita. i'd tried to mod her, but as she was my second doll ever and my first attempt at modding, it came out like butt. i guess in terms of all the dolls i've ever owned, technically she'd be my least favorite, since she's the only one i didn't keep/don't still have.
