Favorite Independent Doll Artists?

Youpladolls ( @Youpla ) and CrowBlackJay ( @CrowBlackJay )! Both make beautifully detailed dolls!

 

My favourite head sculptor is Switchum at Namonaki, who has done some excellent work for me over the past few years!

I second YouplaDolls (I especially love and own her boys but her girls are very beautiful too).
I also like IrrealDoll (I hope she will someday do a second MSD boy ^_^) and LittleRebel with her unique heads.
YukiDolls has also a great style but unfortunately until now I don't own one of her creations. =_=
There are so many more interesting artists.

 

Donn Kinney of Bishonen House dolls, he does everything himself from concept to sculpting, casting, and finished products or kits. I have three of his guys with two on order and going to pick another one in a couple of months.

Kaye Wiggs girls. Her sculpts are always so adorable and the dolls are beautifully made.

 

I love Harucasting's Adori and Nanni - the cutest YOSDs out there (IMO), and Little Rebel has some beautiful heads (just purchased Aleksander) and there is a new artist Meeksdoll (on Instagram) - I can't wait to get her Murphy head!

Little Rebel! She does amazing lips. And noses. And cheekbones... pretty much amazing everything.

 

If you search Etsy you will find a few. I have one on order from a Russian artist. She's so nice to deal with!

My favourite independent artists are @AubreyMeeksArt (meeksdoll on Instagram), Little Rebel (littlerebeldoll on Instagram) and @Rumpelstiltskin (rumpeldoll in insta)! I am lucky enough to own a head from 2 of them and can't wait to get my hands on Meeksdoll Murphy when he is released

 

Dr.mes of dollpamm!! the dolls are cute and the artist does almost all the doll work themselves!

 

Asella (Noble Dolls) and Atelier Momoni. Asella's dolls are crazy gorgeous (I can't wait for my Raspberry to get here ), and I love how expressive Atelier Momoni's dolls are.

 

I am finding this thread to be very interesting. I'm checking out each artist mentioned. It would be NICE if you had a photo of one of the dolls mentioned to put it with them as well..

@foolbot / plasticmoon will forever be my favorite individual artist... Mr. Charming, my Mr Kitty, always makes me so happy... He's honestly such an amazing, special little guy!

I love dolls made by independent artists! My favourites are Demiurge Dolls, Dust of Dolls, Agatti Dolls, Batchix, and Irrealdoll.

 

I love Shecow's Mara head but I am so waiting on her Kit she is working on to be done. I have been following the progress and I am getting really excited!

 

@villitunes is my current favorite! She makes an adorable tiny cyclops, Mizuki (among others!). Right now I'm waiting for her to finish a big cyclops that she started last year, Niimz.

The Cyclops is so cute, and I love the three eyed unicorn baby in yellow.

 

Not sure if this counts or not but Bimong makes beautiful bodies that have things like de-attachable breast plates (so you dont have to change the whole bust )

Rosen Garden makes cute posable 19cm girls that Id love to have in my collection one day too

 

Hands down, Youpla is my favorite independent artist. I have yet to receive my Ziya, but I love the style of her dolls overall and she is so kind and understanding. I feel so grateful to her, that she was patient with me when I bought Ziya

ETA: I received my Ziya and I'm absolutely in love So I will stand by calling Youpla my favorite independent artist.

 

aoi tuki dolls are really pretty, but i wouldn't get their chest pieces theyre way too big for my liking

 

Little Rebel for sure! All of her sculpts lips are GORGEOUS. I wish that she had bodies to go with them since my hybrid making hasn't been an easy experience so far. But I'll still get one of them someday!

 

I know for sure I'm going to support more of Pygmalion Doll and Kanadoll's work. I really hope Pygmalion Doll gets the attention it deserves because those boys are gorgeous!! Plus the owner casts everything by herself and stuff, so definitely I support them 100%. Also I really like Kanadoll (even though she's connected to Rosen Lied), and their gentle sculpts. I love the kind of elegant aesthetic of it.

Other than those two main ones, I really like Fifth Motif, Amadiz Studio, Universedoll and Little Rebel!!

 

I love the dolls made by Lume Doll. The faces of the artist's doll are realistic and diverse. The company doesn't seem to get enough notice, but they're beautiful dolls. I own several and want more!

 

Lillycat and Nefer Kane are two of my favorites along with Dust of Dolls which makes such cute dolls! Popovy and Yuki Doll are my dream dolls but way out of my price range right now. Maybe someday. I have given up on ever getting an Enaibi doll, and I used to follow her much more closely but I don't really bother anymore.

And I am DYING to get Annako from Dodo Dolls which is an artist who works with Jpop.

 

Atelier Momoni! I absolutely want a momonita!

 

Nabarro boys and Anna queen are my faves.

 

I love Seed Dolls Wol and Peabody head sculpts by armeleia. I bought Wol on their Etsy store. I love her so much because of how unique her nose is.

 

Elfgutz - I don't know if I would like to buy any of her dolls, but they're really original and unique.

Connie Lowe. I love her Sprocket dolls and have quite a few of them.

 

LLT. I have Red Dove. I also really love boypink's incomplete muscle girl body. I wish the progress would update though.

 

Orange Tea Dolls, their dolls are curvelicious.

 

Twigling, merry doll round, Pasha pasha! All create their own artist dolls that are very unique and very gorgeous! Twigling is definitely my grail company. I have 2 dolls on the way from Reese and hope to own one of every sculpt from her!

Rugged Realism (RUGGED REALISM) and her Venitus @_ I heard she doesn't do commissions anymore but her work really got me started on the bjd hobby they are AMAZING.

 

My favorite are Kana (Kanadoll) and Esthy (Distant Memory).

 

I checked out You pls dolls and fell in love. Fortunately for me, the current offering is too big for me. I prefer the YOSD or MSD size due to space restrictions I've imposed upon myself. But boy, is she sexy and I'm a sucker for red hair and freckles

 

Shout to sarah wandzz, who know also know as pintsizepalace in instagram!

I love her nimah sculpt!

 

My favorites are Nikki Britt and Atelier Momoni. Nikki Britt's Phoebe is my avatar, I just love all of her sculpts. Atelier Momoni is a newer favorite of mine and I find myself wishing I had discovered her a few years ago so I could have gotten some of her clothes to go with her dolls. She's an artist all the way around!

 

My vote goes to Limhwa. I have a Leda girl, aiming for a half elf of hers..

 

My favorite is @Breath doll I owned two of her sculpts and they are so beautiful and unique!

 

It's Irrealdoll, hands down. Their MSD sculpt Nur is the only boy doll I've ever wanted to own. Their tinies are cute as well, especially Enyo and Oli. I like their mature minis too, it's just not my preferred size range. Their dolls are so distinct and I adore the aesthetic. Like Nur isn't your typical MSD guy not that there's anything wrong with being one! The unique sculpt is just delightful to me and he pops out of the crowd positively.

I am a huge fan of NikkiBritt as well...her childlike dolls are so unbelievably adorable and so well sculpted.

If you're lucky enough to get a artist edition doll with an artist Faceup, you'll be smitten.

But since my collection has changed drastically, my most favorite sculptor right now is Nuria from MerryDollRound.

She's beyond incredibly talented and I adore how she focuses on ethnicities as her specialty.

My three MDR girls are my most favorite and I cannot imagine my life without them.

That being said, I have a huge respect for all of these Spanish artists making a name for themselves...

Being Latina myself, I tend to want to support smaller artists like MDR and AtelierMomoni, Irrealdoll, LittleCosmos, etc.

I remenber that I saw two dolls from a etsy shop, one was 1/1 which is amazing, the name was something moon I think, and the other one I think is a independent maker called musen???

 

I totally agree -Nur from Irrealdoll is a great MSD sculpt....such a cool kid on the block!

 

Sometime, when I have the time to explore social media and other peoples' collections and independent artists' sculpts---and my time isn't usurped by class projects, etc.---I'll have to really check out some of the artists out there. As for my favorites of the ones I know about, I like Light Limner's sculpts (Their girls are nice and sophisticated looking), and I like most of what I've seen from Little Rebel (And love the Kai I managed to snatch up when I got the opportunity). I also loved Batchix's lovely elven boys (especially Clever Little). Simply Divine also has some simply divine male sculpts as well.

That's what I'm currently aware of, but I'm certain---given the opportunity to look around further---I'm sure I could find others I'd admire

 

Red River Road is my most recent doll crush, their work is amazing. @_@ I still regret not buying a ridiculously well-priced work of theirs I saw on ebay a while back.

Other favorites are Dust of Dolls, Orange Tea Dolls, Bishounen House, Misterminou and Plasticmoon. They're all gorgeous, beautifully stylized dolls and I hope to own one from ANY of them someday. I figure it's just a matter of keeping your finger on the pulse, being in the right place at the right time...
