Favorite company?

May 25, 2014

    1. Ok so, browsing on here a lot of people think that resin soul is cheap and the dolls aren't that good. But I really really like their sculpts and I plan on purchasing more from them. I love their color options and their faces are very pretty. So I think they are my favorite even though people think they are cheap.

      What is your favorite?

    2. First let me say that I don't think it matters what the price of a doll is. If you love it and can afford it, then you should have it and be proud of it. I love my Angel of Dream Qian just as much as I love my other dolls.

With that being said-my favourite company as of right now is Doll Leaves. I want every single one of their sculpts. I have two. 1/3 Emily and 1/4 Amara. They are reasonably priced and every sculpt is beautiful. :aheartbea

    3. Resinsoul/Bobobie would have to be my favourite. I love their sculpts and the variety of resin colours available.

    4. Angel of Dream be my favourite company here ^^ The sculpts for the faces and bodies are absolutely wonderful things :3 Doll Leaves also gets a nod for their bodies, and so does DBDoll (best posing of all my dolls - if they still exist anyway, do they? I've not seen them in a while). None of these three are particularly 'expensive' so to say, not that it matters, they are pretty and well crafted, what else do you need?

    5. I like Iplehouse,crobidoll and Dollmore :)
I've never owned any girls/boys from Crobidoll but I like their sculpt

    6. Iple house and Doll-Chateau even if I don't own their dolls. Yet.

    7. I am a Volks and Dollstown fan. Dolltown for their bodies and Volks for their (older) heads. Even with all the new companies out there today, I keep coming back to them.

    8. I don't have one yet, but I really like Peak's Woods dolls. Especially the Fairies of Colors. They were the first dolls that got my attention, but I can never decide which one to get. Since they're kind of my dream doll, I don't want to have any regrets. I also like their cute YoSD sized vampires. The unusualness of Doll Chateau is really growing on me too. I have Hilary, and she's definitely quirky, but I love her.

I don't have a Resin Soul either, but I think Ian and Mei are especially pretty. I almost bought one as my first doll, and looking at them again, I'm wondering if they should go on my wishlist.

    9. Fairyland most definitely is mine with it making up 2/3 of my collection. I think for me it's bc I love the sculpts I have and the awesome posability :D I feel bfs for my iplehouse bc he rarely gets touch but IH has more masculine msd sculpts which I love

    10. I love the detailed faces of Supia sculpts. I like all of Supia's sculpts (except Rosy and Roda) so by default I guess they'd be my favourite. My two favourite dolls are Souldoll, though, so I guess they'd be my runners up.

    11. Crobidoll and Luts are my favorite at the moment, but I'm new to the hobby and there are many dolls from many companies that I haven't met yet!

    12. I do love Resinsoul dolls and own a few that i have purchased second hand. If money was no option I would love to own Dollmore Calix.

    13. My favorite company is Volks and Unoa. Volks SDGr girls and Unoa Zero girls is my favorite line, from face to body, they're so perfect to me. But I guess the perfectness is reflected on the price so I'll wait for new releases and just watching owner photo lol. I hope one day I can see in person or even touch and play with them if allowed :)

    14. I'm pretty sure there has been a topic posted like this before.

There is no such thing as a cheap BJD. They are all luxury items that cost a fair amount of money.

Some people may prefer the joints or resin or sculpts or style of different companies, but most people here will tell people to buy what they like and to not let other opinions get in the way (unless it's something that matters--like you want amazing posing ability and people report that a particular body isn't a great poser--but if opinions differ--do NOT just focus on the negative! You might need to make a wise decision and that should include ALL the facts--good and bad).

Everyone has their own favorite companies. I like a LOT of companies. Pretty much all of them are fantastic, in my book, including many I do not own a doll from. I don't think bjds should be a popularity contest. If you see something you like, then go with that. It shouldn't matter if lots of people or no one thinks the company is a favorite of theirs. It shouldn't matter if a ton of people have that doll or no one has it. It should only matter that you like that doll.

    15. Looking at my collection and current tastes, I think I'd have to go FairyLand(/CP) as my favorite. I currently have 19 full dolls and 4 partials home, and of those 7 full and 2 partial are CP sculpts (roughly 40% and 50%, in other numbers). With the shipment I'm waiting on, that'll jump to 22/3 for totals, and 10/1 for fractions (45%/33%), giving CP/FairyLand solid domination of my collection.

With the rest, I generally only have about two from any given single company other than FairyLand, but one of those pairs is two ResinSouls. :) And I have plans of at least two more of their sculpts, which will put them at the second largest represented company. Soom will eventually follow as the third, whenever I complete that trio, and the remaining pair that likely will stay as a pair is Angel of Dream. In other words, it's a spread of companies often regarded as "cheap" and companies regarded more highly. The way others might discuss them, though, isn't something that's going to bother me at this point in the hobby for me! The only thing I might care about is if it turned out a company was doing something illegal, but if people just want to complain that they're "cheap" or "bad?" I'll just think they need a better hobby.

I buy what I like. And while CP may be dominating the field at the moment, what I like covers a lot of ground and I'm perfectly comfortable with that!

    16. Iplehouse is my favorite, but I like so much too Soom Idealians (Hyperon is my favorite boy).
I love Soom The Gem, I have many dolls in my wishlist.
      Fairyland is very cute.
And Luts, although I don't like much their bodies, I love some faces.

    17. Luts and Soom are my favorites. I do have two odd ones out though. A DZ Miss Kitty and a B&G Sapphire from way back.

    18. Right now I'm torn between Pipos and Luts, but I think I prefer Pipos overall. I only have one doll from them but he's my pride and joy and I just love everything they come up with. :)

    19. Oh man, where do I start? I've been eyeing BJDs for years, so I have several favorites. Volks, Luts, Soom, and Dream of Doll. (Especially their DoT and DoI lines!)

    20. I have three or four companies that I really love, but LittleMonica has to be my all time favorite. Their sculpts are beautiful, their faceups are amazing, and they are just so friendly and sweet with great customer service.

    21. My favorite companies are Soom and Dollshe. I've always received high-quality dolls from them, they look as advertised when they arrive, and they have good customer service. I love a majority of their sculpts to boot, so these two companies have become my faves.

    22. After so many years in this hobby I think I go for a company with ethics as well as sculpts. My fave has always been Dollshe. They have great ethics, they have always been honest, they've always kept everyone updates with their issues (if they have any) and Mr.Dollshe is always trying to improve, one way or another.

Another one is Ringdoll. Great events, great customisation... so creative. They seem like doll fans not only doll makers. They are not always clear about delivery time but always get back to you when you ask.

I like Iplehouse sculpts, but they have questionable work ethics, so they are not in my fave list anymore :/

    23. I have a Resin Soul Dong head and his resin and face are just beautiful, nothing cheap about him. The color choices are the best too. I would love to have a Resin Soul body to go with him but just can't. His coloring matches closely enough with other dolls so he can swap and come out to play at times.
My favorite company is Ringdoll. I'm just hung up on their tall slim boys.

    24. Would love to own a (or maybe a few, gulps*) Loongsoul doll. I read reviews that their body are great posers :aheartbea

    25. Luts! But Iplehouse comes in close second

    26. I've never herd of this one (I'm new) but wow these dolls are beautiful. I completely agree I like all of them except those 2. There is something about them. Otherwise beautiful dolls and bookmarked page. :)

    27. CP sculpts - Fairyland and Luts. 6 of my 9 are either Fairyland or Luts. :) If I get another doll down the road, she'll be a Luts Kid Delf Cherry.

    28. Currently half the dolls I own are Fairyland. (Counting the one I just paid for and one I haven't yet received) But Blue Fairy and Lume doll are also monopolize large portions of my wishlist.

    29. Luts is my favorite. I've fallen in love with so many of their sculpts. :love

    30. Fairyland and Souldoll.

    31. Fairyland seems to be the one I gravitate towards the most :)

Sent from the Vale of the Faeries!

    32. I love Iplehouse, Peakswood and Supiadoll :) Though I don't like every single one of their sculpts, but I do love most! :)
There are many other companies I do love too...but right now it's those 3 on the top of companies I like for now.

    33. I don't have/plan to have dolls from all my favorit companies, but I must say I am totally in love with Peak's Woods. Their style just keep getting better :D
But I also really like Ringdoll - they are like concept art with dolls. Pipos has also grown on me, and I've always had a soft spot for Luts. ^^

    34. Doll Chateau. Then Iplehouse. Two polar style opposites I know. And of course lilycat.

    35. As far as service, I'd have to say Aquarius Doll cause they were just totally awesome during the whole process. BUT I'm in love with so many Fairyland sculpts that I'd have to say, aesthetically, they're my favorite company over all. I do really love Peak's Woods and Bluefairy, too!

    36. I don't own any dolls yet, but I really like Fairyland and Soom (mostly the Idealians). I love the face sculpts for both companies. Since Idealians are hard to come by, I'm sure my first doll will probably come from Fairyland.

    37. Still Soom for me. I remember when I first discovered their website, Topaz was the first doll I saw of them, and even though I never bought her, she made me fall in love with their overall style. My grail doll(s) (Dia/Sard) also happen to be from them :)
Besides that, I am a huge fan of LLT and IOS. I hope to finally add some of their dolls to my collection soon. The price only matters when I have to ask myself "can I currently afford to buy this or do I have to save up / say no to other things?". It doesn't influence how much I like a doll or a company's style.

    38. Limhwa,Volks,Iplehouse and Alchemic Labo are my favs. I had dolls from Limhwa and Volks. Having a unoa on her way :) I love Dollshe also.

    39. I really, really, love BOTH SOOM & Iplehouse! I don't think I could choose one over the other but as they are so pricey I tend to find myself browsing through less expensive dolls and I think that they all have at least a few beautiful dolls to offer! Except DollChateau I simply can't get over how strange their body is! :/

    40. :)parabox/obitsu and junkyspot.

    41. My favorite one is Crobidoll

    42. I don't have one absolute favorite company. I have dolls or doll parts from six different companies right now, and they're a mix of more expensive/less expensive companies. I don't care about popularity or how a company is perceived ("cheap" or "elite"). I buy what I like and am building my collection for me. I am happy to say that I honestly have had great experiences with every company I have purchased from so far, and I absolutely love every doll that I own. They're all awesome in their own way. Each company I own a doll or doll component from puts something a little different into their work/style. Having dolls from all different companies instead of multiples from any one company allows me to experience the individuality of many different dollmakers' work and, to me, makes each of my dolls feel like more of a unique individual within my collection.

    43. Volks dolls, Dollmore clothing, Iplehouse photos

    44. This is EXACTLY how I feel! Well, for the most part. I too prefer to buy my dolls from all different companies. For a long time I went without buying a second doll from a company, but it was LoongSoul that broke that rule. I've purchased three of their dolls now. So, I do have a current favorite but it's not like I love every sculpt they offer. I think their dolls are excellent quality in terms of resin and posing ability, and they have creative fantasy sculpts. Their dolls arrive with the most secure bubble-wrapping I've ever seen. And to top it off, their prices are pretty good too!

    45. DollClans coz they just put so much effort into creating their dolls. I've always had good experiences with them. Also, the fact they let us use airmail makes me like then even more so I am always more willing to buy from them. I love whoever draws all their chibi characters, makes me actually want to read every email and pages I come across

Soom because of how easy it is to do layaway with them. Also, they give us a chance to get their old sculpts and I like their xmas kits. I also like how they cater to customer's demands.

Though I love Iplehouse and plan to get a lot of their sculpts, I wouldnt call them my favourite company because of their business approach to some things. But I like their ability to listen to customer's requests.

    46. I have favorite companies for different reasons.
Concept and Marketing: Granado & DollClans
Customer Service: Granado & BlueBlood Doll
Sculpting Detail: DollShe (Classic 28) & DollsTown
Artist/Small Business/Customer Communication: Simply Divine & Fifth Motif
      General Dollie Kryptonite: Switch

...these are just the companies I have personal experience with and would support again and again...

    47. As with previous commenters, there's doll companies I really like for different aspects.
I'd second the opinion that Granado is highly satisfactory with marketing and customer service, but I'd include excellence of anatomical accuracy and also great posing. I love a lot of companies for the sculpt anatomy in their pictures--Twigling, Dollstown, Iplehouse (also amazing on the clothing and accessories), Loongsoul--but except for twigling (whose bodies are awesome, I've seen those) for the rest, I'm not clear on their posing ability. I've heard great things about other companies for posing, and I strongly wish that Fairyland was able to sell dolls in my favored SD to SD13 scale, I expect they'd be amazing. Great concept art for each sculpt is a strong point for SOOM's beautiful monsters and fantasy clothing. Folks who've been into the hobby longer than me always rave about the high quality of Volks' castings and resin and clothing, and the clothing I've handled has been very finely detailed and feels solid. Some of my friends also like certain reliable eras of LUTS dolls, plus the style of the head sculpts, also the heads from the company Switch--but I find I like more grownup styles (and no, it's not just more boobage on girls). I know I've seen intriguing things from other companies but I'm not coming up with names very well. I think we're seeing some awesome new artists and companies starting up with really great promise of things to come.

    48. Iplehouse and Soom always seem to be the ones that drive me crazy!! I love the realism! Although Loongsoul has incredible less-realistic designs too :D

    49. I love fairyland! Their bodies are so beautifully made, and their faces speak to me. Not ALL of them of course. But... still!
In fact I would love to try a doll from another company sometimes (on my wishlist are Unoa, Bluefairy and Dollstown), but whenever I really go into the buying phase I always end up with... yep, Fairyland.

    50. SOOM and iplehouse. they make the guys of my dreams :o xD

    51. My hand is gonna slip here.

I love Luts, Ringdoll, and SoulDoll.
Luts might have my eternal loyalty. Their sculpts are darling even if people think they're generic.

I'm interested in branching out though! All dolls have their strong points!

(Don't let anyone tell you that ResinSoul and Bobobie are bad because they're cheap. They have the most amazing color options I've ever seen and interesting ideas for doll legs. Just buy what makes you happy. I am really debating on getting a Bobobie Pixiu. What a little cutie!)

    52. /facepalm.

    53. Dollclans. I didn't think there was a company that I would like all of their sculpts but Dollclans proved me wrong.

    54. So far I have only had my eye caught by Fairyland dolls, and only a small handful of them are ones I really want to own. I've tried looking at other companies to see if I could enjoy other dolls, but every time I go to a new site I just don't feel drawn to the faces that greet me there.
Luckily it was a Fairyland doll that introduced me to the hobby, or else I could have gone a lot longer not knowing what I was missing.

    55. DOLLCHATEAU! I also love doll leaves and dearmine <3 ~

    56. I love the look of Blue Fairy and Fairyland :)

    57. I like Iplehouse. I only have one doll and she's an JID Cecile named Layla, and I just adore her. I can't say I know that much about different bjd sculpts, but out of the companies I've looked at, Iplehouse and Fairyland are definitely my favourite. I like them because I love their face and body sculpt, as apposed to just one of the two. I think I only have dolls from these two companies on my wishlist at the moment. :)

    58. I love Iplehouse, their dolls are so amazing. My wish list have Luna of Iplehouse :D

    59. I have a Leekeworld crush at the moment. :)
