Hello everyone! This is my third project journal. I have nothing new for the two previous threads, but as I'm working on an other doll, I open a new thread XD This time the doll is a Pathos Tale Pan. It's a tan skin faun, with big horns and little hoofs. She is a heavy girl! Mine is called Braonán. She's supposed to be a swordwoman living in a parallel world. What I'd like to do: Mods To Do: none. I do not like to mod tan skin. Aesthetics To Do: faceup (first in 2016, new in progress) tattoos manicure horns makeup (in progress) Crafting To Do: bigger hoofs (maybe) wig (completed) Currently I've only finished her wig. Wigcap and dyed fibers: Finished wig: Next step will be her faceup
I agree! The wig REALLY suits her sculpt and looks great going around the huge horns. I would also love to see more.
Thank you very much! I'm very happy of this wig Thanks a lot! I begin the face-up so there will be a little more to see below Thank you! Thanks! OMG I forgot to answer to your pm! So sorry **** I just started the face-up yesterday. I chose to make her dark mouth and eyes and a facial tattoo. As her name is celtic, her tattoo is also celtic. (In fact it's a mix between celtic and nordic patterns) A little picture after the first step: After the second step: The head is currently drying after a new layer of tamiya
LOVE her!!! Shes absolutely stunning keep up the great work I love all your intricate yet gritty aesthetic... She's happy to be with you...!
You've done such a great job so far I like her very much And I'm looking forward to seeing your next steps!
Thank you very much! She has perfect face, even if she's not a common beauty. Thanks for your compliments! I don't know if she is soooo happy. I still need to bought a 70cm stand for her. She is sitting since I got her Thank you! I hope you're not in a hurry! I'm not the faster girl when it comes to finished a doll's customisation Thank you very much! I'm currently working on her horns. Thanks a lot! Thank you! **** Third step: And finished faceup : She won't keep those eyes. I need to buy some eyes for her ^_^
I love your face-ups!!! This is so beautiful. Can I ask about the first pic as you had shaded the eyes and mouth, the skin looked really wonderful with texture, sort of subtle freckles, I wondered did you use an airbrush to achieve that skin effect? Or some other technique? And the fibres which you coloured, what did you use to complete them?
@HoneyRyder Thank you for your compliment ^_^ I do not use an airbrush. I even do not own an airbrush. I mostly use a toothbrush for the skin effect you can see in (nearly) all my face up. I did a little tutorial on the subject two years ago: Spoiler: Using a toothbrush by Follow-the-Wind, on Flickr You may find many other tutorials on my flickr gallery. They are mostly in (bad) english. Some are only in french, but not so many. Feel free to look at them! edit: oops I forgot to answer for the fiber color! I use dye for human hair. @NanaM Thank you very much!
She is so beautiful! I can't wait to see all the wonderful things you end up doing with her! I've been looking at stands also (or rather a wiser more experienced friend has made a few recommendations) and was wondering what you are considering? My girl seems top heavy and seems to always want to spring backwards (perhaps the weight of the horns?) Does that happen for you? I would love to hear your thoughts
I was looking at the toothbrush tutorial, and noticed the bottles of 'Peobo' in the background...they look like bottles of ink? Can I ask what medium you are using? I presumed it would be watercolour. Also, Thankyou for adding info about colouring fibre for wigs.. Here have a daisy
@strawberrie_strudel Thank you! I'm considering this stand ^_^ My girl is as heavy as yours, of course, and she's too heavy and to big for my other stand (made for 60-65 cm dolls). Moreover her head tends to topple on one side since I pulled it from the body. @HoneyRyder They are bottle of ink. About what kind of medium I'm using, answer in picture! by Follow-the-Wind, on FlickrDetails are in the comment under the pic.
8 years later! My poor Pan was nearly sold this year, but she is finally staying with me for a while. I never continued her customization, neither painted her manicure nor finished her horns painting... but I removed her faceup earlier this year (like 4 or 5 months ago). It was not bad looking, but aging (and has faded). So I'm redoing it, and maybe I will go further in her custo Here a WIP of her new faceup. Basically the same with minor changes (and upgraded skills): Thank you for looking!
New faceup is nearly done! I made matching brows with the wig ^^ (previous one were only brown) Thank you for looking ^_^
This faceup is finished, and it's the end of this thread, because I sold the girl to another collector. Thanks to everyone who looked and commented!
