Aesthetics Fantasy Face-up

Nov 22, 2019

    1. I have no problem doing non-naturalistic face-ups if someone tells me what they want.

But when I try to do something that isn't the same limited palette natural style face-up I use on all my dolls, it's like :? No idea what I am ever doing...

Anyway, I recently acquired a Leeke Valentina and I did a sort of "brainstorming" face-up on her because I have no wigs in her size and needed to decide on her face in order to decide on her hair.

Points I know I messed up:
      • Blushing is a little botchy. Might have been too humid today.
      • I don't know when I did it, but I somehow dragged my brush or my hair over some of the tears before they dried and now there are stray mint lines on her cheeks. :doh
      • Because of above, I didn't finish adding dimension to the tears because thick globs of gloss are the worst for removing...

      Points I'm not sure about:
      • Yay or nay on the glued on elements?
      • Should I have just gone with single color tears?
      • Are the green tones too much?
Probably best to go full-view it on Flickr

    2. I would have gone even wilder with the tears! Imapsolutely love the eyes so I would have matched the colour scheme more to them (warm) than the colder light blues! So cute!
I like the 3D elements but maybe they’re a bit clustered?

    3. Thank you!

After stepping away from the head for a little, definitely agree. Gosh the minty tears kinda blend in.... :doh Hate it when I get overly focused on something being a big deal but then when I come back it was like.... this is more subtle than I thought....

I'll try warmer tones for her next face-up.
