Fanime 2016 panel and meet

I'm going! I'll also be cosplaying. I'd love to meet up sometime during Fanime. I'm going to keep an eye on this thread because I'm hopeful that other dolly peeps are going to.

Oh, I'll definitely be there at Fanime then. I'll aim for Saturday but I'll probably be there Friday.

I just realized my girl will be bald. Be warned if you see me running around with a face-up-less child.

 

That would be so sweet! My girl is a 9" head. My other babies are 8" so she's relatively massive for her petite body haha. I still adore her.

Oh no! Hope they get the panels and gatherings sorted out. It'd be weird to just eliminate the prospective crowd by splitting the event.

Would the gathering be at the panel?

 

Would it be possible to host the meet-up somewhere in the hotel where anyone can attend, not just Fanime attendees? I would really love to go to a meet-up, but sadly I'll be skipping out on Fanime this year.

 

As far as I'm aware, you are able to walk into the Convention Center without any problem. You only need badges to get into artist alley, panels, and other rooms. I'm not sure if the hotels have restrictions for who can hang out there, but they'll probably be swamped with con-goers anyway.

 

I'll be selling stuff (unfortunately not doll stuff though) in Artist's Alley during the convention, so I won't be able to make it to any meets. On top of that, I don't really want to risk bringing my doll in case I get busy and can't keep an eye on him. But if anyone will be there selling doll clothes/accessories please let me know! I'd like to pick something up for my boy :>
Aaaaand If anyone wants to stop by, I'd love to chat with you~! I rarely get the chance to talk to other doll owners.

 

This year Fanime has changed a bit of their policy... Instead of allowing un-badged con goers into the con like the previous years. They have blocked off the second floor to those who do not have a badge. They posted it on their website under Essential>Convention Safety Initiative. I want to post the link but I am not sure if I am allowed to. I thought that this might be helpful somehow..... or something... sorry in advance @_@ if this isn't.

 

Gasp. This is news. It makes sense to do that, but that was one of the wonderful things about Fanime. Fairmont lobby could work as well if no one minds missing out on the hustle and bustle of Fanime, though I'm sure we'll see con-goers everywhere downtown.

@Choctopi What's your shop? Do you know where you'll be located as well? I'd love to stop by!

 

i'm game for fairmont lobby! just let me know what day and what time ^^ kinda hoping for saturday tho :O

I'll still be under the name Choctopi at the convention (it's my go to alias now XD ) I'll be at booth 713, on the right side of the entrance. If you bring your doll with you and if I'm not busy, I can do a little sketch of them!

@Choctopi we're at table 507! we're called made by bing. i'm actually just a table helper for the artist haha but i'll still be there for a majority of the convention ^^ i'll definitely stop by yours!

@Choctopi @Psiiconic @LetterJaey @InkyBear someone started a fanime meetup thread for those who were interested~ it's set for the marriot but maybe we can throw in fairmont as an option too! i'm okay with either, just thought i'd mention it ^^

 

I would love to see all of you! I think I can make it to the Fairmont okay. At least, I hope so. Have we decided a time?

 

The Marriot is right next to the Convention Center and the Fairmont is a slight distance away, however, there are more food options where the Fairmont is. If people are hungry, they can just wander over for some food before heading to the meet or back to the con.
