I haven’t posted in RP before, so wanted to stop in and say hi! I have been checking out the cute pics.
Wonderful board! I recently started collecting RP again. I had two many years ago that I sold .

I enjoy searching for clothing, making clothes and taking photos of the little cuties.

I learnt from the past realpuki threads that Fairyland have done this before, and when I look at Fairyland news&notice section, I found the company trend to release new realpukis in every two years after they first introduced Soso & Tyni,

Roro & Aki in 2010; Sira & Ara in 2012; Popo & Pupu also in 2012 celebrate their 10-yr anniversary; Titi & Toki in 2014; Papilla in 2016... so there is still hope that Fairyland will bring us new Realpukis in 2019...

 

Thank you for that information mimi2018. I didn’t realize that Popo and Pupu were released the same year as Sira and Ara. The former seemed to be around much longer to me. It must have been beginning of year and end of year. I would love to see those two released again. It must have been 2011 when they stopped producing them for a while.

Your Roro is very sweet. Sometimes I think it would be best just to have one again. When I only had my first Soso I spent lots of time creating for her. She became special to me in a way that none of the other dolls ever did.

You're right, according to Fairyland information, Popo & Pupu were released in Jan-2012; Sira & Ara were released in Sep-2012.

And, you are lucky to have a Soso. I was looking for Soso and/or Aki for quite a long time but no luck

Actually I did have a chance to buy a Soso few months before from a second hand market...However, that Soso had no CoA or Fairyland box... since I am a newbie in BJD don't know how to identify recast, I have hesitation on the auction and finally decided to give up. I don't mind a doll is old, used, yellowed, or slightly damaged, but I will NOT buy recast even though how "perfect" it is.

 

Thank you for sharing that info @mimi2018 . Wow, that means that soso & tyni came out in 2008? I bought both then & I can hardly believe it’s been 10 years! I hope that you find a soso soon, so sad that we have to be so careful not to end up unwittingly getting a recast. There are several Facebook groups for RP & Fairyland fans, occasionally someone offers dolls for sale & I believe everyone there is honest when they say their RPs are legit.

Markaysa & her new friend Trinket. Not an RP but I still got a beautiful fairy for Christmas. Trinket is much taller but I’m happy that she can use many RP things. Really enjoying this sweet one!

Most of my RP are used, except Tyni. I had to be careful and learn that early RP didn’t come with COAs.

When I have purchased RP without COAs, they are from trustworthy sellers and at least have their box. I don’t want to inadvertently purchase a recast.

I do hope FairyLand creates more. I am definitely hooked on these cuties!

We ordered some new furniture yesterday, so now that my bank account has taken a major blow Fairyland will probably come out with some new & totally irresistible RPs!

I've been searching everywhere and reading different results. What size eyes do the realpuki wear? TIA.

 

@bugs6946 - You may be reading different results because people get different results depending on which eyes they try. When my Papilio winking face came without an eye, I gave him a half round 6mm acrylic eye, which was all I had in a small size. (I think it's from Glib.) It fits in the eye well, but it shows mostly iris and very little white. I'd guess that 5mm is the way to go, except the only 5mm I have are small iris and small pupil. They show white all the way around and make Papilio look very surprised. (My 5mm are from Dreaming Tree Studio and a Russian maker whose name I don't recall.) I've tried flat back oval 6mm glass eyes (Glib) but they are too wide for the eye well.

 

Dreaming Tree Studio on Etsy will work with you to get the right size iris and pupil in whatever eye size you need.

 

Fairyland has some 6mm premium eyes (smallest they carry) so I was wondering if those would fit.

 

That is the size they take. It has been said though that for some of the sculpts not enough eye white shoes. The Russian company spoken of is Glazki I believe. You can get any size eye, with 3 different choices of iris size. I have not used the doll eyes, but I have used their dog eyes, the quality is good. Their prices and shipping are also very good. As soon as I figure out eye sizes I will be ordering from them again for the dolls.

 

Glazki - That's right! I got them as a gift from another collector, who didn't have a doll small enough to wear them. (And neither do I.)

I ordered a little something from Denver Doll Emporium the other day & I just couldn’t resist asking if there is any news regarding our beloved little Real Pukis. They say that they are certain they will be offering them & pukipukis again due to their popularity, so there’s still hope!

 

I was e-mailing Fairyland this week about Realpukis come back, here is what they wrote back:
" Our chief of staff in charge of processing is currently recovering from serious injury and will need time to recover while managing with currently FairyLand workload.
We will not open any lines or skin colour until he is fully recovered and ask for our customer's generous understanding. "

Previously, they wrote to me that they are sure that Realpuki will be back for sale, so all that remains is to wait patiently ... Only I have not much patience left any more :/

 

Thanks for sharing that info @Martoola . I too am short on patience but it’s easier to wait when I know there will be RPs again someday.

I’m so excited...I’ve just adopted a Toki!!! He’s the one sculpt that I’ve been wanting for a very long time. Now that I’ve spent a lot of doll dollars in the past month I’m sure FL will soon come out with new, darling RPs. Looks like Ramen will be on the menu here for awhile!

 

Congrats Jonlyn, I have Toki and love him. I was able to just purchase Papilio on the secondary market and am waiting for his arrival. Love his sly little grin and owe it all to you.

@bugs6946 - Congrats on adopting a Papilio! I love mine. Hope you're getting his winking faceplate, too. I've reached the point where I leave that one on him all the time.

Hoping our government issues haven’t affected customs as he is coming from across the Atlantic all by himself. I too just love Toki’s sweet smile @desertmountainbear . Your Toki is adorable @El BJD ....I would love some Toki spam while I wait! Hope you find your Toki soon too @vermont chick and @bugs6946 im very anxious to see your Papilio ....happy Keebler and KiKi inspired you. I really love the huge personalities these 2 have...so much charm & sassy character . I’m totally convinced Real Pukis are just a little bit magical. Mine have brought so many lovely people into my life plus they are better than Prozac on a blue day!

 

One of my favorite pictures of my twins. No one is enjoying playing outdoors now as we are just starting to get snow & before it’s finished they say we may have up to 9 inches followed by dangerously low temperatures this week. Going to make a pot of chili, then get all of the wee ones dressed in cozy warm clothes....me too!

 

jonlyn, mine went through customs also and only took 2 days. Should not be a problem.

I’m amazed, my little guy should be here tomorrow! I’ve had domestic shipments take much longer.

Toki arrived! He’s adorable but very shy so no pictures yet. Truly however has never had a problem with being timid & loves dressing up & posing for pictures,

 

@Jonlyn - Congrats on Toki's arrival. Am I right in guessing that he needs a face-up? I can't wait to see him. Truly is looking adorable, as always.

Toki has a Fairyland face up that’s pretty cute but I prefer a little softer look so we’re waiting for a time to get together with my friend Todd as he does really sweet face ups & he knows exactly what I like. He is so talented & it fascinates me to watch how perfectly he does such tiny details.

 

If he's the one who paints all your dolls, I really like his soft and natural style.

 

@vermont chick , Todd has done Poppy, my big eyed soso, Spencer, my pukifee & this sweet little soso, Sunday. The rest of my dolls have been done by ShellO and Heliantas. They each have unique styles & I couldn’t choose a favorite as I love what each of them does!
