I haven't been posting much lately, but I have been looking at--and enjoying--all your wonderful photos.

Just got to say, Xura, that motorcycle is the bomb! Not only is the size perfect, it even has a light on the back. Thyme does look a little young to have a driver's license...

Well, if he needs a place to run to, we would be only too happy to find some room for him here... But maybe a motorcycle wouldn't be enough, might be he needs a plane or a ship to cross an ocean...

Happy news...I just got an email from DDE & my kaka (which I vote we pronounce kay-kay) is on the last leg of her journey home. My lil crew & I are so excited to meet her!!

 

Congrats on your impending arrival! I love Kaka. I wish I had thought to pronounce the name as kay-kay! Every time I bring my Realpukis to a meet-up, folks make fun of my Kaka and Pupu and ask me where is Pipi. There isn't a Realpuki Pipi to my knowledge, only a Pukipuki Pipi, but it appears that the person at FairyLand who is naming these dolls doesn't realize what the names sound like in English.

 

Oh what great adventures have been going on while I've been busy making dresses for my girls! Love those glasses, Peggytoes!

at least we hope they don't know what they sound like and aren't just giggling away while naming them at least i always pronounced pipi with a short "i" like pipi longstocking i'm not sure my girl ellie would forgive me otherwise. i''d love to figure out a different way to pronounce the sculpts but i'm not sure i could change them in my head now. i just call my kids by their given names instead of their sculpt names.

What a pretty spring picture EL BJD. Your girls look like they are having a ball with their Maypole. Used to love doing the Maypole when I was small...wonder if today's kids even know what that is! And May baskets! I used to love to make little paper baskets filled with flowers to hang on friends doors as a surprise.
Hope your Kay Kay has a fast & safe journey home antissa. I've always wondered where FL came up with these names too!

It's from a Playmobil set from Toys r Us great sized little motorbike. The light flickers on and off.

Hehe I figured that she'd love a picture of him being a show off!

He tries to be a little stud. Sometimes he's just being a little brat! Lol
And congrats! I'm hoping Fairyland doesn't do any tan events in the near future while I try to move!! @.@

 

I tend to pronounce Pipi with the same vowel sound as in do, re, mi or the Spanish si. Much as I would love to call my little ones by their given names, I tend to forget those, usually within a week of naming them. Eventually I end up calling them by the sculpt name. I could wish for a better memory, but at my age it's not gonna happen.

 

When I got my DSLR, I also got a macro prime lens; I didn't really know how to use it, but having learned a lot since, I pulled it out again and Roro made the perfect subject.

Yes, that dress was an etsy buy; it is so gorgeously delicate! - Roro hasn't had it off since it arrived.

i keep a list of what i've named my dolls in my profile. i hate to admit how many times i have to go and check to see what i called them!

I have a list on paper--somewhere. With all the dolls I have re-homed over the past few years, my list is so scratched out I can barely read it. Most times I just go hunting through my blog to see if I can find a name. I think a new list is in order. And I probably should post it to my profile. (Great idea, auntbear!)


ktk8, I love that photo of Roro. And I love how the pink wig echoes the shapes of the foliage. Adorable dress, too. She does look like an exotic flower.

 

They are all so sweet. I just love all of their wigs and outfits.

I don't have a large doll collection so I no issues remembering, but I have been surprised by how opinionated they are about their names. Once their personalities started to show there's been little doubt as to what they want to be called.

Exciting week...Piper (kaka) arrived Wednesday!! Cricket (soso) is very excited to have another girl around.

Thanks everyone for your kind words about my darling Roro - she was my first RP and I had -mean't- her to be an only... until Toki showed up. Now I have a Sira on order and plans for Kaka, Aki and Tyni... eventually.

If anyone's curious, Roro's wig is from the dollpeddlar - size 3.5-4" 'fwigs fluff wigs'.

 

Piper & Cricket are so sweet antissa. Hermes is quite the dapper dude Leo Phoenix & love this beautiful photo of your enchanting little roro ktk8.

Just when I finally conquered Flickr they had to go & make another of their big changes. Rather than trying to be as user friendly as possible it seems like they just complicate things more all of the time. As they have it now it's impossible for me to post pics from my iPad. When I feel less frustrated I will have to check to see if I can accomplish it with my DHs laptop. Lots of unhappy little RPs here...Truly is especially concerned that Thyme will forget her!

 

I just got my new laptop in the mail, and hopefully it will have no problem reading my camera card so I can share some of my pictures of Hermes arrival.

flickr drives me nuts with their constant changes i couldn't upload pictures from my tablet before though, only my desk-top so that hasn't changed for me. i don't think it's changed much for uploading from desktops, except is it my imagination or have the picture sizes changed? they seem to be a lot bigger now. i used to be able to load the medium size that popped up as the standard, but it is huge! hope you figure it out and we can see more pics of truly soon,

 

Haven't noticed a change in picture sizes auntbear but I wouldn't doubt it. Seems like they constantly change things. It wouldn't be so bad if they actually made improvements or simplified things for users. They get so many angry messages every time they do these things that you'd think they would be as sick of this as we are !

 

this doesn't really belong on this thread but if anyone was hoping for a big brother or sister for their realpukis, fairyland just announced that they will be releasing soso and pupu as 19cm realfees the end of this month... they've done a great job i think of sizing up the two faces, and there are lots of fun extras.

 

im pretty sad pupu is being released as a realfee, i was hoping for a rerelease as a realpuki, but now i doubt that will ever happen, siiigh

 

They are really cute but I'm not sure if I would like that size...it seems huge to me! I think I will do my best to resist as I can only imagine how much cash it would take to buy all of the dolly necessities for a whole different size. My tines demand so much as it is! Meeting a dear doll friend for lunch tomorrow . My dolls will be wearing all new clothes, while I however, will be in last summers clothes!

 

i think most of us were hoping for that release, never say never with fairyland though. if enough people keep asking, maybe they would do a special release next time they do tan rps? as long as they dont lose or destroy the mold there is still hope.

 

I've been away awhile - had the dolly blues but the long, cold winter is finally over here in NEPA. It is officially spring and I took Bug out to see my second favorite flowers in bloom...

Thank you, auntbear & jonlyn. Piper has made herself right at home & is quite the demanding little thing. She's let me know the clothing selection isn't to her liking & she's incredibly disappointed I don't have a RP-sized house ready for her yet!

Leo Pheonix, I love Hermes in his hat. jonlyn's description is perfect; "dapper" was the first word that came to mind when I saw him. I hope you can find a summer outfit that let's him keep his accessories!

ktk8 & Ban Sidhe, your Roro pics are so inspirational. I especially love the lacey dresses they are both wearing. My Roro came in last week; I was daring and ordered her without a faceup, so I'll wait to share (keeping my fingers crossed).

I'm with Botflybaby; very disappointing that Fairyland is releasing pupu in a different size. I went on something of a buying spree for my birthday (using lay-away & paypal to spread things out) and ordered all the other sculpts I wanted & have been hoping for a pupu event. RP are my only dolls, and the scaled-up version just doesn't speak to me at all.

 

antissa Hermes has made it quite clear that those are his hat and his shoes. So he'll have them or his other resin hat with whatever he wears!

 

Do all RoRo come with the same faceup? I just love the swirl on the eyes. Its so cute.

 

The default faceup has the swirl. I loved it so much I added it to mine

Such cute glasses Peggytoes! Just adding my two cents to the pronunciation discussion, I think Pupu should be pronounced "pup-uh" instead of "pooh-pooh".

 

Leo Pheonix, I think of it as "pew-pew" -- like a little boy making gun noises! They're just too cute to have awful names.

This may have already been noted, but just in case anyone missed it Fairyland has tan skinned RP available during the even that started this morning.

 

*over dramatic flop* I saw the Tan Skin option! Fairyland has terrible timing, I just ordered a Soom monthly (that I am excited about!) but oooooh noooooo, had I known Fairyland was going to let us order RP in tan again I would have been all over that instead!

 

Oh god I'm so screwed! I'm definitely getting my twins! Lol look out here comes trouble!
