i don't think their wait time is quite 7-8 months yet dancecat.... i know it is getting worse (used to take just under 3 months to get to dde the last couple have been a little over 4 for a blank doll) but i just checked my last order direct from fairyland which was a steamcat ltf and it shipped out in just under 3-1/2 months. as far as i know the only one taking over 8 months is lati!

 

My order for pukipuki Sugar is now over 6 months...and counting

Love your Roro, Ban! She's next for me, after Toki is paid off.

 

I just couldn't stand it anymore I ordered Roro a few days ago and am enjoying the Roro spam immensely! I don't like the wait, but the anticipation can be a pleasure. Like waiting for Santa.

 

They're still processing orders from January!!! I've heard about LatiDoll, but I don't think they operate the way Fairyland does. Fairyland really isn't putting the customers first anymore, they're putting their wallet first, which by what I hear, is making a lot of people angry. They're doing too many events on top of each other on top of new doll releases on top of already being backed up. Last time I ordered was last year and had to wait over 5 months for my doll.
But it's a choice of wait or don't bother. I'm opting to wait, but I'm not going to like it and plan to fit about it the whole time LOL!

 

I've only ordered from DDE once before Toki, and luckily, my Soso was in stock, so no wait after the layaway was done, thankfully.

 

Ban Sidhe your Roro is making me convinced to get a Roro of my own! But I will wait to see how long Toki will take to come home first Everyone saying that the wait times are getting almost as bad as Lati is putting me off a little. I hope it isn't so bad. I don't normally mind waiting if I know what to expect but I didn't know Fairyland was falling so far behind...

i didn't realize they had gotten so bad. i guess i was lucky with my last order. if it takes that long for my toki to arrive i'll be joining you in the fits (along with a lot of other people on this thread )

 

i'm going to have fits too, waiting for my titi. im working on making him a cottage room out of a hatbox. i've never tried to make a dollhouse/room before, so it's interesting. it has stucco walls and i made a big fireplace out of paperclay. it has a "stone" floor made out of cut out pieces of egg carton. i need to paint them and then try to make it look like they have grout between them. ive never had a doll as small as a realpuki so i hope the room is big enough for him / looks in scale

 

they are roughly the size of a Kelly doll, if you can find one cheap, you can use it for scale

 

I think they are starting to get caught up though, the list for January in the wait room was huge. But there is only one person left in January that didn't order from DDE and most of February list left are DDE orders as well. Fairyland did post a huge apology letter the other day, so at least they are acknowledging they've had issues. Not like the fiasco that my Ringdoll order was where it took almost a year and getting information from them was like pulling teeth.

... that being said, some Soso spam would be nice too!

 

Don't tell me, they are catching up. I told myself not to think of buying a Soso until the wait is much shorter again...

 

My order is from January, but the end,(28th i think).
I want a Toki too, but until i get my tan pukipuki cupid, I'm holding off.
I'd rather collect the interest off my money, than give it away.

The waiting wouldn't have bothered me as much, had they not started new events.
I understand them being a small company. And i appreciate their attention to a quality product. I just think you should finish one project, before you start taking orders that only throw you further behind.
I can only hope to get my cupid soon, so i can order my Toki.

I've heard of this "egg carton" stone, I've seen it too, it's pure genius! What did you use for "stucco?"


Actually, Fairyland is one of the larger companies, especially compared to so many others like Elfdoll who have very limited staff. That's one of the things that ticks me off - they have enough staff to keep running events and new releases but not enough to process orders placed 7 months ago?
It's just aggravating to know I'm in for such a long wait. I have more time than I'll need to try to figure out who Toki will be when he/she comes home!

 

i used dried paper mache stuff, it comes pressed in a square and its like shredded paper powder. you just add water to it and it makes a paste, so i covered the wall with the paste to give it that stucco texture. it dried kind of a greyish white, so i'm going to paint over it in a pale off white so its all the same color. i just finished painting the stones for the floor and did a thin layer of gloss, its amazing how much like real stone it looks! i'll definitely share pics some time. working on the room is really helping deal with the wait. at the EARLIEST i hope to see my titi in august, but the way things are going with FL he probably wont show up until sept or even october :\ boo

are you on the homes for tinies thread botflybaby? i'd love to see progress pics of your cottage. i started collecting egg cartons months ago to try making stone, but never got farther than a stash of egg cartons

i've got my fingers crossed that fairyland will get all the little sarang event gifts done soon and then the order times will get more reasonable again. i was hopping toki would be home some time in september as a birthday present for me, not sure if that is realistic now or not...

 

gah i took a few crappy pics but my USB to upload pics is malfunctioning and my computer refuses to recognize it! this happens every once in a while, it usually starts working again after a while. i hope it will quick this time...

EDIT: Okay my USB decided to work this morning so I uploaded my pics, I'll post them in the homes for tinies thread instead since they are kind of off topic here until my titi is inside the room lol.

Thank you auntbear! She did spend time in France getting her face up from Heliantas & it seems she now considers herself French.

No she didn't , my friend Todd of TKDesigns made it. There are darling little slippers to go with it too but she has such pretty toes that I just couldn't hide them this time.
