@Lemon Balm Sprite, your two are absolutely adorable...like candy hearts for Valentines Day! Those sweaters are truly beautiful.
Thank you for your kind words. I'm very happy I have both a girl and a boy. I've made a ton of girly clothes and dresses. I have to say it's quite refreshing to make some boy clothes for a change.
I like the way you styled your Eva, she is adorable! On another note, I figured out that my Luna is probably one of the only dolls, that I kept absolutely full-set for over a year now... so I guess it was time for a change. We started small, just with some new eyes. But next will (probably) be a new wig and a different outfit. I'm just not sure what would suit him. o.O Knowing myself, he'll probably just stay like that for the next year
@Sharkyra, those eyes really enhance his look. They’re absolutely beautiful and so full of character.
I’ve been lurking and enjoying the beautiful pictures! I’m seeing some really pretty eyes and really need to know what you all recommend! My Toki desperately needs some new eyes! Nothing I’ve tried has looked right. There are so many different eyes to choose from, I’m getting overwhelmed. Thank you for any advice!
@Sharkyra those eyes are really pretty. @kurogane I mostly use enchanted doll eyes but that’s because I buy them at doll shows and they’re really hard to pass up. I also have two from soom that I really like (I bought them with my dolls). I use them on my realfee.
@brightberry thank you, I will seriously look into getting a pair. Your little one is so so cute, and the eyes have just enough white so they stand out. I have a wig just like yours (on another doll), but reversed, dark on top, white underneath.
I went down an eye size for mine and use 10mm glass eyes. The little extra white showing makes a huge difference. I think Harlow's are from Captured in Glass. They're half pale purple and half sea green. Harlow by Beth Simmons, on Flickr
I usually use 12mm Oscar jewel eyes in June’s regular-eyed head, and 14mm Oscar jewel eyes in her silly Sira head, but I just put these 14mm blank unknown glass eyes in June’s wink face and it really works for her character. Grannybelle is an ancient seer, so I figured this “blind eye” look works when she’s in her fortune telling mode. I love that she’s a shape-shifter, so can change her look on a whim and still be the same character. I’m having so much wicked fun switching up her looks.
I was hesitating about changing eyes of my Coco. Thanks for great pictures and advice. It helps me a lot. brightberry, your June looks great with those eyes! Such a sweet and innocent expression! LadyMadrigal, you are right, the little extra white showing in Harlow's eyes makes a huge difference. Her face is just ... perfect! PoeticSoul, I love your idea of switching up Grannybelle's looks. It's hard to decide which one is the best.
About eyes, a really good question. I've found that most of my RF fit probably 12mm eyes best. At least that's what I put in most right now. However, 12mm from one eye maker doesn't necessarily equal 12mm from another. I use eyes from Kanis, Oscardoll, Enchanted Doll Eyes and oval glass eyes in them.
Eye appearance can vary between makers. the size of the entire eye is fairly standard but specific companies may vary the diameter of the pupil and or Iris. Most eye creators tend to offer the iris measurement too now, you just need to go hunting for it.
I've enjoyed my Soso and Toki for some time and always liked how Toki looked with his "upgraded" eyes. so I finally decided and bought Soso some OscarDoll urethane eyes as well. She and Toki decided to have some photos taken now that they both look amazing. These are *such* fun dolls - while I don't do as much with them as the larger bjd - these two make me smile every time I see them! I hope that Fairyland keeps making them....
@Robyn_in_WA - These little ones are an absolutely adorable pair - love their cute outfits too - and of course, their darling props!
Am enjoying all the new pictures here, and it reminds me that I need to find new eyes for a couple of my RLF's because of course all the extra eyes that I have laying around are not what I'm looking for.
Papageno is enchanting birds - tiny angry ones and big more friendly ones. It would be scary if those big birds were angry, too. Big birds by spih_2, on Flickr
I haven't posted in a while, but I just got my most recent addition back from my friend Mismantis, who dyed said doll for me ^^ I don't even remember when I got them, but it's uh many months ago hahaha. It's been a while. But I just wanted to show the dyed doll (who will be a pocket sized hyena) next to (yellowed) Fairyland tan xD The dyed doll is a Pukifee Tika head and the other is a Pukifee Vanilla. I have 5 Pukifee/Realfees now hahaha. I have a slight addiction. I'm thinking of calling them Kebi, which comes from Egypt, meaning honey. But I'm not sure yet. I have a long list of names hehe. I love seeing everyone's realfees by the way. I am a major lurker but I see all the beautiful dolls
@Robyn_in_WA, how positively adorable they are! I love their little setting, it’s so perfect for them. @spih, How perfectly cute your Papageno is...a pied piper for the birds! I love it! @Snow, such a gorgeous, rich color...mismantis did a phenomenal dye job on him! I really love the pukifee/realfee hybrids. It’s lovely to have so much variety with these little ones.
My Grannybelle (Realfee June) had somehow gotten herself into a very contemplative pose while I was out of the room and I just had to take a photo.
Question for you guys. I received a Soso & Pupu faceplate with my order way back when RFs first came out, and I'd love to give them bodies one day but the problem is that they're JUST faceplates, no skull back portion. Is buying RF basics and selling the faceplates that come with them my only option?
My girls are finally home!! I love how her faceup turned out. It's so much softer and more detailed than her old one.
I really need the legs T_T I don't have a need for another full doll but one of my gals would love some claws.
Oh golly!! I've been stalking this thread for a while without posting since my only realfee is off topic (I made my own stuffed poseable body for her so she isn't technically a bjd) but NOW I'm wondering if these new dragon babies could mean that fairyland is bringing back realfees?? In which case you'll be seeing a lot more of me in this thread, lol
Oh awesome thanks @Snow ! I showed my husband and he said he wished the faces didn’t look sad, dragon babies should be fierce lol. Not sure how I feel about the lil high heel shoes on the human versions. Still impressed with those dragon parts thou.
They are gorgeous. I was not planning on buying any more dolls this year unless pukipuki were released, but I am definitely going to get at least one of them.
Oooh... I’ve been thinking I need a normal skin girl. I have an event head I’d like to play with and it’s in normal skin. And those dragon legs are beautiful. I also kind of wish event heads were offered in tan skin.
I like the faces, but meh on the dragon parts. Both faces look fairly similar to me, they're not as distinctive from each other as FL pairs normally are.
I was about to order a new doll, but I may have to wait until the prices on those dragon realfees get announced... I was just thinking about wanting a fantasy bjd too. My wallet is really going to suffer this year.
I found a couple more photos of the RF Dragons posted here. This is a tough call for me. I really like the dragon parts (!), but I'm not sure I'm connecting with either of the face sculpts. More photos may help... And honestly it's good to see something happening on the RealFee front regardless!
Humm, both are very cute. If I only had the funds, I’d get the boy in human form. I only have one realfee, so another would be welcome. It’s hard now that Fairyland doesn’t have open orders. It’s either now, or secondhand.
I convinced myself these guys were probably too small for me, but I'm not sure I can resist those adorable dragon toes. How does Fairyland normally do their releases? Do you have to buy the fullset to get the fantasy parts or do they typically offer a blank option where you can get the fantasy parts?
There is usually more than one option... so probably? Unfortunately, its hard to say until they release them.
As far as I've seen, they usually have four options: blank human doll, blank human + fantasy, "fullset" human including the outfiit, eyes, optional props and blushing, fullset human + fantasy with the works. With the centaur release, they also offered the centaur bodies separately, which was awesome! But I think it was only because they're so large and expensive. They didn't sell any of the other fantasy parts separately. I think I'll need the girl--but I like the boy outfit better! Decisions. D: Anyway, hello! I'm new to the thread but a huge fan of Realfees. Really not sure why I wasn't in this thread a long time ago! Here are my two girls, who are still works in progress. My centaur girl with the crossed eyes, on the right, is named Sable Allegra, and she won't be keeping those eyes, haha. My deer girl on the left doesn't have a name yet.
@brightberry @sidroq Thank you both for the info. I guess I'll keep my eye out and see what happens when they finally list them.
I’ve been wanting a dragon for ages. Not all that in love with these two yet, but I’m considering getting them.
I'm assuming this means that basic RLF and bodies will be available again? It's been such a long time.
Really hope so! I've been afraid they wouldn't bring them back, or would wait a very, very long time.
