Fairyland RealFee Discussion Part 7

Apr 9, 2018

    1. Thanks! No - It was just pink translucent resin. It was not “ designer complete.” I embellished it with gold metallic acrylic paint (after spraying it wit msc) I then covered it all with the shiny coat that I use for the lips on face-ups which turned the non-gold parts clear again. I then had to string it with the plastic filament they include for the strings. I also blushed her ears. Her faceplates and full set were bought here in the MP. Her body was from a Realfee Luna that I bought during the last event.

    2. Thank you for letting me know! I got the harp secondhand and unfinished, so I never really knew what it looked like default. Today I finally got around stringing it and now I'm contemplating whether to brush it or not.

    3. Here's a photo of a Realfee hat pattern I'm designing. This is the autumn version. The winter version is still in progress.
      Happy Holidays!

    4. Going to be a lovely hat! I love the daintiness of her shawl!

      • x 2
    5. @El BJD Thank you! The shawl is a piece of machine-made lace but it does provide a great textural contrast to the hat.
I now have THREE hats to finish: red, white and green! I hope to post the pattern on Ravelry soon.

    6. My free Realfee hat pattern is now on Ravelry.
      Happy New Year, everyone!

    7. Both very nice hats, Answer42!!! You have many lovely patterns on Ravelry!!

    8. @El BJD Thank you! The ideas keep coming!
Posting on Ravelry helps me finalize a project and not add to my pile of UFOs (UnFinished Objects)!
It also helps that Realfees are so very CUTE!

    9. I love my Realfees! I decided not to do any handicrafts this last spring and summer, as I had so much work in this new garden, I might never have made it outside! Big mistake, as I now have very little made for 2 incoming next week! At least my UFOs are in the same spot in this new place! :)

    10. @El BJD Congrats on the new place! I hope 2023 is very good to you!
      And to everyone, actually!

Hi! I THINK I fixed the knitting pattern problem. Please let me know if I didn't!
Thank you for letting me know!

    14. Jippo: "Look! I'm a magician. I can pull money out of a hat!"
Me: "You pulled that money out of my wallet."
Jippo: "Well, I have to put the money into the hat before I can conjure it out of it."

    15. That's cool! I hope they'll release a cute Realfee, I already have a hippogriff.

    16. Omg another Realfee! How exciting about the hippogriffs too! They've posted about the new minifee so I'm hoping a photo of the realfee is posted soon!

    17. Oh wow! I have the human doll that was last sold as a hippogriff (bought 2nd hand here) and always wished I had the fantasy parts! I know they probably won’t sell them separately but I will definitely order her/them.

    18. I wish FL would sell realfee bodies + headbacks separately. I have a couple extra face plates that could use bodies.

    19. I'm very excited to finally get one of those hippogriffs, but I REALLY hope they offer mint or something. I'm not a huge fan of the purple resin or tan and would rather not default to white. If anyone wants pink or mint, they should tell Fairyland on their board or something before the event starts so we can see what options we can get

    20. Ooh how exciting! I thought we were due perhaps another Littlefee but this is better, hopefully!

    21. Fairyland is offering Rus in natural, white, pink and violet.

    22. They never really say - and there are no pictures- Will Rus connect to a Realfee? It does, however caution about taking it apart on FL’s website. Although, you would have to take off the head to put on the sleeping head.

    23. It looks like the original Rus that connects easily to a realfee, no need to take it apart. The neck is connected to he body with a hook, just like the lower body of a realfee. And the sleeping head is a faceplate like other Fairyland dolls have,

Here's how Rus looks with a realfee upper body:

    24. Very excited about the realfees they brought back! I had been wanting a Toki :love I wonder if they are here to stay for a whioe or only part of the event :aeyepop: I better spring for Toki regardless lol I don't wanna kick myself in the butt later.

    25. I was hoping they’d have Pano, that’s who I want more than anything but I’m still happy to see Soso, Coco and Toki. Very tempted by Rus but as I tend to avoid things that need body blushing (my hands sweat badly) do I really want to end up getting angry at myself for not being able to get it looking how I think it should? Aargh, damn you Fairyland and your incredibly adorable dolls!

    26. @spih Yours is adorable, by the way! I love his fur wig. It's perfect!

Thanks! I purchased the female that went with the former Rus secondhand and I have always wanted the fantasy parts to go with her. I like that they have Rus's head too because I think he will also be her pet.:3nodding:
I love that you can purcase the rabbit legs too! I also have a second hand older bunny realfee too. Boy this is going to be an expensive month! Fortunately my birthday is on Sunday :dance

    27. I have an old Pano faceplate and I was hoping to get a body and a headback for him, but Fairyland says that they have modified the faceplates to fit the vampire Luna faceback. I wonder how much they have changed the construction and if it would be possible to modify it to fit the old faceplate.

Does anyone have both the Luna vampire headback and an older headback to compare how much and how they have changed?

    28. I’m not sure about your exact doll but I attached an older Realfee plate (Haru) on the recent Luna body without any problem.

    29. That's interesting. Haru is a girl faceplate. I have an old girl body (Coco, though I have used he Sira event faceplate on her). I tried Pano faceplate on her and though it looks all right, it won't stay on. It seems that the girl headback is slightly narrower. There are places for magnets, though, and I think with added magnets the Pano face plate would stay on.

I asked Fairyland about the new headbacks and they just stated that the old faceplates don't fit. They did not give any details, though.

Could you take a picture of the vampire Luna headback (without a faceplate) and perhaps also a picture of an old headback so that I could see what kind of difference there is and if either the old Pano faceplate or the new headback could be modified so that they would fit.

    30. @spih I tried all the heads on all the head backs. One of my new Luna head backs was loose on all the bodies, but would have been fine especially with a head cap or wig. The other new Luna head fit well on all of them, so it was just a FairyLand "thing."
Order: New "Luna" body, Older May body, New "Luna" body, Older Mari Body
[IMG]RealFee Head back comparisons by Jane K, on Flickr

Order: New Luna, May (older body), Haru ( on new body), Mari (older body)

Order: Haru (on a Luna head back), Luna, May, Mari
There were gaps no matter whose head I put on what body. Even the heads that came with the bodies had slight gaps.

    31. Thank you @spih for bringing that up about the old/new thing and thank you @Dollquest for trying them out.

    32. Thank you very much! It looks like there is no major difference. A little looseness can probably be helped by adding a magnet or just some eye putty. A slight gap would be covered by a wig. I think I may take the risk - and if I order Toki, I would still get a cute RealFee that I don't have already even if I can't fit the Pano faceplate on him.

    33. I'm so happy :dance I ordered a tan Toki! Her smiling face and big ole elf ears are just too cute! I def look forward to the day this girl arrives!

    34. I think I have figured out what the difference between the new and the old headbacks is. All the dolls in Dollquest's comparison pictures are girls, therefore the old and new faceplates can be switched around. I tried Pano faceplate on my old RealFees. It fits fine on all boy headbacks, but is loose on a girl headback. I tried my floating Coco headback on a couple of my boy RealFees, but it did not fit! It might have gone on if I had tried hard enough, but I did not want to break anything. So it seems that the old boy RealFee headbacks have been slightly bigger than the girl headbacks, and now Fairyland has modified them all to be the same size. That means that my old Pano faceplate would be a little loose on the new headback, but I could make it stay on with either magnets or eye putty.

And while I was fooling around with the faceplates, I put the sleeping faceplate on Orm, my dragon boy:

    35. :DI’m so excited! Been kicking myself for not getting a tan Toki the first time around so I put in my order today! Cannot wait!

    36. just ordered eva this morning! the little ears is what got me <3

    37. Where do you all get your clothing for your Realfee's? I'm going to have to order a Soso, as I've kicked myself for missing out on her for forever. Just wondering where everyone shops for clothing for these little ones?

    38. I've used Blythe patterns and pre-made Blythe fabric clothes for my RFs. They're great fit as long as the outfits have room for the larger RF hips. Regular Barbie clothes fit as well, especially if the fabric is stretchy, such as tshirt fabric. I cut the pants down to size though. Also, on page 1 here, they have a database of what fits.

    39. @JinCIncy I also use Blythe clothes and Blythe patterns to make clothing - this works for dresses and tops. Their waists are a little thicker. Trillianandcompany on Etsy makes cute ones and dresses her realfee in them for display.

    40. I make clothes and patterns myself. Once you have a set of basic patterns, you can use them for several different outfits. But beware of the magnetic hands, the RealFees want to rob your pins:

    44. Beautiful work, spih!!

    45. The little belled shoes... My heart!

    46. The six-inch mini American Girl dolls and their other differently-branded clones work quite well! Everything but shoes and hats tend to fit.

    47. @spih You jester outfit is wonderful!

    48. I agree, that outfit lends itself so well to the mischievous look. Amazing work @spih!

I’ve decide on a Soso. Going to give it the tan bunny legs I got with my vampire Luna as I think there’s more potential there for a little forest character.

    49. Those of you that have Coco, would you share some pictures please? I'm trying to decide whether or not I *need* to get her along with Soso, lol.

    50. Your little dragon boy is just beautiful @spih !

    51. Another question for owners of Realfee Luna Vampire rabbit. I got one that was in stock at DDE, she came today. She has no magnets in either her vampire or regular head for the ears to attach? Anyone else have this problem? I see some loose magnets in a baggie in her box. Are we supposed to attach the magnets ourselves?

      • x 8
    52. Yes. You will notice there are several different places to place the magnets depending upon where you prefer them. Just remember to keep the polarization of the magnets in mind when you place them. Fairyland has one polarization for one side and a different one for the other. I use jell superglue to attach them. You can also purchase other magnets of the same size on Amazon if you want to have more of an option for her head or add horns. She's a real cutie. I love my Luna!

      • x 1
    53. I have a general question. What kind of wigs do y'all prefer for your babies? Yarn or synthetic?

    54. Heat resistant fiber or fur (synhetic).

    55. Thank you @Dollquest ! I have not had a doll come where I had to attach the magnets myself so was a bit confused. My Luha (minifee) already came with magnets in place.

    56. @JinCIncy If you're indecisive on placement like I am, you can always stick the magnets in with whatever your preferred eye putty is. It's also helpful if you think you may get the poles wrong the first time.

And some old spam, just because. Everyone's pictures makes me want to go on some adventures with my girl again! Too bad the wind and temperatures have other ideas.
