Fairyland PukiPuki Discussion Part 23

Jun 11, 2016

1. So glad to hear! You should post a link and I'll go check it out, Leo Phoenix.

2. hi DoA! long time lurker here. i thought i'd post a photo of my two puki girls before the TONS of new stuff i bought for them arrives! their looks are going to change if all goes well, but i thought they were pretty cute here anyway. i'll be sure to update you in the future. pardon the shoddy iphone camera snaps!

their names are rhyme (rose) and reason (chichi), and they're little demon sisters, though they still have a long way to go until they look the part! rhyme is wearing one of those mini sparkle girl dresses which is a bit tight in the arms, and chelsea shoes. reason is wearing a chelsea dress and the chichi fullset boots. their wigs are both fairyland. oh yeah! and rhyme's horns are from tinybear, i think.. they came with the sale that my chichi came from

3. Welcome to the thread sharkteeth, rhyme and reason. Looking forward to seeing their completed look.

4. @sharkteeth, your girls are absolutely adorable!:D I love their names...Rhyme and Reason...how wonderfully clever!

I'm just coming out of lurkdom in this thread myself. I'm purchasing a pukipuki to reshell as a character I've literally been trying to shell (as a larger BJD 4 times over the past 3 years)...what an ordeal!:doh But when I saw this little darling in the marketplace, I just knew her tiny frame had the huge character to become my fantasy adventurer at long last! I'm hoping she will make it home next week sometime.

5. Which puki did you purchase? Looking forward to seeing her when you have her completed.

6. She's a Cupid with an extra winking faceplate. She also comes with a Pukisha and sleeping Flora faceplates, plus many extras (just perfect for a fantasy shape-shifting elf adventurer!) She already has a wonderful tree house to live in and a dragon friend to adventure with. I can't wait! I'm just hoping I can come up with some sort of clothing style that will somehow merge my sewing abilities with her tiny size and adventuring spirit!:sweat

7. She sounds adorable and soooo many extras! Looking forward to meeting her :D

8. Oh a lot of us just lurk this thread, I am sure. I haven't done much with my pukis lately but I am now making a new, better wig and outfit set for Kitso, my Madeleine mod boy, although it's gonna go slowly because I am quite busy lately. I get dolly time in lil' chunks here and there.

9. i'm a lurker too most of the time, i haven't had a chance to do much with my dolls lately

10. Lurking.. when I have the time. So many changes in our lives lately. Glad to see new blood joining!

So far I get to show off my dolls at work, little cubicle that I have. Makes me smile under all the stress.

11. How nice to be able to have your dolls with you at work, @Darkwind! Mine sometimes come with me, but have to stay in my bag.

Like everyone else it seems, I haven't had much time to play with my puki lately. Her face-up has become badly worn, but I'm reluctant to send her out to be painted for fear that she come back completely different.

12. I haven't done much with my pukis lately either. I still love them, but it seems what little time I do have lately ends up going to my other dolls. :( A few of them got new wigs though!! Opera's suits her!

13. Oh my! That's the cutest thing I've seen all day! And yes, certainly her wig is opera-diva-licious!!!:fangirl:

14. Opera looks great!

The sad thing about taking my dolls to work was I couldn't take their pics. Now I'm jobless (for other reasons). Spring is arriving and I must take the kids out for photos.

15. Super cute wig! Do you mind if I ask where it's from?

I've decided to dip my toe into the world of tiniest BJDs by buying a tan Puki Ante second hand. I'm very used to Lati Yellow/Pukifee size but never seen a tiny tiny doll in person. Can't wait for her to arrive! :whee:

I was a bit sad though to find there doesn't appear to be as much available in this size as the others (clothes/wigs/shoes etc) but I take it that's because it must be much more fiddly or difficult to sew or make for?

16. Yes they can be a bit tricky to sew for. If you don't want to try and sew for them you can sometimes buy Kelly clothes on eBay for them that will fit along with some of her shoes.

17. Have you tried Etsy? I find a lot of things for them there.

18. When I want something I can't make, I supply my pukis from Tabloach Productions. They have a ton of kelly/shelly/tommy doll stuff that works great for pukis. Best of all, they have very low prices for a lot of things.

19. Thanks so much for the advice everyone! I've already bought some stuff on Etsy, but I wasn't sure if there was anywhere else I should look. I'll definitely check out Tabloach Productions too.

20. My puki army just keeps growing though I haven't posted in this thread in years. They've been neglected at late, I really should do more with them. Shoot their most recent picture us from 6 months ago
[IMG]

I wish I could find nice boy things, all the best stuff seems to be for girls (kind of like real life shopping for my toddler son! Lol)

21. @PoeticSoul and @Darkwind Thank you!
@Candykicks Thank you! It is by Frappzilla Studio. It's not poofy like a lot of other wigs for this size are, but you can "sculpt" it like a faux fur wig. :)
Etsy, DDE and the evil-bay. Most of my stuff is from Etsy too though. I have some things from Spampy, but I don't think she is currently taking orders?
@skyealloway They are all so awesome! Yes post more of your cuties!! I need to as well. :sweat

22. @redmaiko curses! Frappzilla Studio looks amazing! I gotta start saving up for the next preorder :drool

23. I love them! Cassandra also got a new wig, and holy moly I didn't think she could get any more attitude!

I hope to take photos of my pukis on a more regular basis again. I feel bad that my Littlefees and Chiclines kind of took over my attention recently. :pout:

24. Ahhh, Frappzilla Studio! I keep missing out on their preorders... I just saw I missed another recently too. I was sure I signed up for their email notifications. Oh well~ :sweat

I will have to take a look on ebay too. I'm sure Taobao would be an option too I just haven't made the effort before!

25. Spampy opens up for orders for a day and then she works on all those orders. When she's close to the end she takes more orders. Get on her mailing list or watch on facebook for notification of the next order period. You don't even need to know what you want until she gets to your order!

26. You're welcome!

27. I love that wig!

28. Thank you everyone for all the advice about clothes and other things!

My Ante arrived yesterday and I couldn't wait to take her photo... Doesn't this set look adorable? <3

I'm so in love with this size, I can't believe I waited this long to buy one. Funnily enough, she seems to pose the best out of all my dolls! I was expecting this size to be a bit difficult to work with...

29. What a cutie. I love her dress!

30. What a cutie @Candykicks

Just let me introduce you Blair, my pukipuki Madeleine.
Hope you like her!

31. Thanks! :whee:
Thanks~ Blair is very sweet, I love her hair colour.

32. She is adorable. I love the pukipuki because they are the best posers of any of my BJD's and they hold the pose perfectly.
Very cute - love her fire red hair.

33. Anyone with a Darjeeling they'd like to share? I think that one is calling me...

34. Thanks! Perhaps it was because I was comparing them to my nearest sized tinies: my Lati Yellows, who, although I love them, aren't the easiest posers in the world in my opinion.

I love how PukiPuki fit so perfectly tiny in your hands yet they still feel "substantial"~

35. Here is my little darjeeling it is an older picture. SadIy have not really played with my dolls since I found I was expecting.

36. Sooo I just realized that I have to get a pukipuki ♡ Could anyone tell me where to get eyes for them? None of the websites I know seems to have such small eyes :/

37. I love the eyes by Dreaming Tree Studio on etsy Theru. Huge variety of very unique colors at a very reasonable price.

38. Denver Doll Emporium, if you're in the USA, has good options for 8mm eyes, which fit pukis perfectly. If you like, you can also try 6mm eyes which some people prefer but they are a little harder to position, being smaller. (if you're not in the US, there are other dealers in the EU and such areas, just say the word!)
For outfits and wigs, I can recommend some of the Denver Doll supplies, but also Tabloach Productions for inexpensive and cute stuff.

39. @Jonlyn Thank you very much! ♥ I just visited their etsy shop but it's not quiiiiet what I'm looking for ow<
@Rosslyn I'll definitely check out Denver Doll Emporium, thanks! ♥ I'm from Germany but I'm going to take a look anyways :3

40. There are a number of etsy shops in Europe that sell a variety of Puki outfits.

• x 1
41. @Theru Think Pink is a dealer in the EU with LOTS of good supplies including 8mm eyes! Customs fees might be less within the EU, I hope, and shipping should be easier too.

47. Y'all are killing me with all the super cute easter puki goodness!

48. ALL the Puki's! you must have your hands full!

49. Hello! I've "accidentally" joined the squad of Puki Puki: a friend of mine had a cute one and she saw that I liked them a lot and she offered to sell it to me, as she had had 'em for a time and didn't really bond with them!
Sooooo here is Periwinkle, favourite pronoun: they/Them, a little fae, mischievious and a bit cranky sometimes, but lovely!

[IMG]Periwinkle! The new fae in my collection! They're a Puki Puki Pipi sleeping head modded, and I'm waiting for all their new things to arrive! by Enid Black, su Flickr

50. They're adorable, definitely some spunk in that face! Congrats on them - I think Pipi are adorable and this sleeping face mode is no exception!

51. So cute and full of spunk! Periwinkle reminds me that I have my own little PukiPuki that finally needs to be pulled together as a character once and for all. (Prior to this she's just been resting in her box, like a secret treasure to be opened and oohed and awed over whenever I needed a good giggle...while I indulged in all the possibilities for her.) But now it is time for her to see the light of day. First things first...a wardrobe! I'd better get to work. She's calling out to be my summer project.:)

52. Awwww, I've started with some basics (I really like the wig I found, and I bought some basic clothes and a cute pair of boots...), and then we'll see... I can crochet but I would have to try with some smaller size thread and I don't know if I'll be able to XD

53. I make my Puki dresses with size 30 thread and a size 10 steel hook. No problems at all.

54. @sweetiemom I've used your pattern so many times!! I love it, I've made dresses for my BID and JID girls using it as a base!! I'll have to see what they equal here ^^. I have so much thread XD XD. Thank you for putting it here!!

55. @sweetiemom, what a cute dress..love it! But my girl is destined for a decidedly fantasy vibe and needs a different type of wardrobe. I do sew for my dolls (and have even created a complete wardrobe for my little Realpuki) but I really wasn't looking forward to sewing that small again frankly. Especially since this girl needs such a varied wardrobe to represent her shape-shifting persona. Then I remembered that PukiPukis can wear Kelly clothes and shoes, so I went on a little shopping spree on ebay last night. I bought her an entire wardrobe of darling fantasy-like outfits that I can have fun embellishing to my heart's content.:) And wow..since when can you get away with buying a BJD an entire wardrobe for under 50 bucks?!!! Awesome!

@Enid Black, it's wonderful that you're making great strides with your PukiPuki too. Getting the basics down is truly monumental. At least it seems to me that finding a character for them and deciding on a clothing style is one of the most difficult parts of this hobby sometimes. For the longest time I only had a vague notion of who my girl is, and I have been waiting for inspiration to strike before building her details. When I saw your new little one, for some mysterious reason it spurred me on. I think mine had magically communicated with yours to let me know it was finally time.;)

My PuliPuki goal for this weekend is to clean and ready the pre-existing treehouse for it's new occupant (it's the reason I purchased her in the first place)...and finally make her tell me her name once and for all!:)

56. @PoeticSoul AWWWW I'm so happy Peri Peri helped you!! Yeah, sometimes they're a bit difficult, a bit shy! I'm so curious to see your treehouse too!

If you're interested, on Etsy I saw on sale some lovely butterfly wings for Puki Puki!!

Oh, can I ask you where did you find the Kelly clothes on Ebay? (And just a trivia: In Italy Kelly is called Shelly. NO IDEA WHATSOEVER of the reason XD)

57. @Enid Black, I found the Kelly clothes on ebay by going to the "dolls" category and typing "Kelly clothes" in the search bar. And I'll be sure to look for insect wings on etsy. That could be very interesting indeed!:)
