@Eleona Your Alice looks very sophisticated. The sweater is quite impressive. Did you use lace-weight?

 

@sabrinaalexandra: Hello Yuna! What a cute Rose! When I first got Omi I thought she would travel everywhere with me as well... but I hardly take her anywhere. I guess I'm secretly worried about losing her (or parts of her) somewhere while I'm playing with her on the go. Maybe I should just take a chance and be a little adventurous for once.

@Eleona: Congratulations on your Piki! She's a darling little thing! I'm still amazed by your tiny knitting... it looks wonderful!

 

Trillian- yes I did- it's Skacel 100% merino laceweight, which is actually thinner than most laceweight yarns.

oooh, this is clever! How exactly wpuld you make it into a wig cap though? Sew it at the top? And would you sew it to the wig, or just put it on your dollies head? Do you think the darker colours would stain the head?
I want to have a go at making a wig soon XD

 

Penny has gotten quite a wardrobe going, and she wants to model an outfit for you.



When we have time, she's got lots more to model. We're still waiting for Nikki (Niko) to arrive, and beginning to think we need a Rose.

Thanks for the idea of using that Coban stuff for wigs. Penny wants more wig options and Nikki will too, I'm sure.

 

I was thinking that the wig cap would be holding looser/bigger wigs in place (as a substitute to velcro/tape/balloons, etc.) I don't know if the darker colors will stain the head. I didn't leave it on Boba for very long. I'll have to test it out.

In Italy this year was a national holiday (150° birthday of Italy). But Jayou wasn't happy enough with that. After toasting with a lot of Prosecco (with the girls -> www.flickr.com/photos/annetta/5534463675/), he switched to Lambrusco. And then Grappa.
Then he went home for a bit, changed wig and pants and returned to the pub proclaiming to have some Irish ancestors. So he decided to celebrate St. Patrick's day with a lot of beer.
Luckily, before finding another excuse to drink, he finally fell asleep. And he was very happy as usual XD

We may have a problem: he's supposed to be a barman (he and Gugu are opening a bar, I hope soon), but what if he drinks all the stocks?

I just bought some boots for Tzi... I usually don't do impulse buys (or buy doll clothes for that matter) but these boots are SO. FREAKING. CUTE.

It says they're for a doll called "Honee-b" but they're only a few mms too big so they should be ok.

Now I just need to make a new dress for her... Any color suggestions?

@Kiyoshi45: Those are awesome little boots! Can't wait to see them on your little bird! Since it's getting to be spring (even though the weather can't make up its mind), I suggest spring colors. Not necessarily pastel colors, but maybe even nice vibrant purple or deep leafy green. I think purple would look great with her white wig.

Those are some amazing boots. Now I'll have to resist an impulse buy of my own.

As for colors, I have always thought grey and pink/rose to be a sweet color combination, but I may be alone in this regard. Red would also look pretty dynamic.

 

Pink or red and grey would look really nice except that Tzi might kill me for daring to put her in pink for anything but Valentine's day. @_@ I'll have to see what fabric I have, but I do need some new pictures of her. (And I need to get used to my new camera.) I've been spoiled by my daddy's dslr and I need to learn how to use my new digital. The manual settings are so fussy.

I swear...Fairyland dolls must be like drugs or something because I haven't even got my PKF Ante yet and I'm dying to order a Puki Puki now and another PKF and maybe a LTF now! What is up with that! I'm making all these plans to have like 3 Puki Puki's and a little room for them and everything...I don't know how I went from just having one adorable PKF to now wanting 3 Puki Puki's and maybe another PKF and ???!! Ahh...somebody stop me! Help!

 

Ummm yeah. There's no hope other than going broke. XD That's pretty much the only reason I haven't ordered the two pukis I'm planning, because even though technically I can afford it, I'd be broke after and my parents would NOT be happy. I have to wait until I have a job...

Yeah...I have made jokes about becoming a lawyer so I can afford my addiction! Sadly, it is only slightly untrue!! I have already considered some of the "showpiece" type dolls as decorations for my future office! I dunno if clients would enjoy some of that though

 

I just wanted to tell someone, so who better than this thread: I have made 2 of 3 payments on my Niko. One payment and delivery from Fairyland to DDE to go. Woot!!!! Penny really wants some company her own size.

 

Does anyone know if the upper-thigh joint is supposed to become attached from the leg? It moves around, and when you Pull the leg, It comes completely apart from the leg. Her other leg joint is attached though, and I'm not sure if one leg is broken, or if one leg is stuck. Anyone know?

 

It sounds like the one is stuck. The hip cap and thigh piece have to be separate for the suwarrico pose to work.

 

Plushie- If you can get both joints moving, you might want to take a look at a video posted on the pukipuki flikr group showing how you can pop out the upper thigh joint for more poses. I found it really helpful.

Hmm. I just realized that I kinda have to snap it out with my fingernail for it to become lose like the left side. But when its not loose like the left side, it doesn't close all the way. I also noticed that in order for her to sit, the belly has to be pushed in. Is that normal too?

 

The hip sounds like it's just tight, I'd say pop it off and on a few times and it'll loosen up. The belly going in is normal too; does she just fall over backwards if it's locked back?

More spam! Tzi got a haircut and a new dress. I think I want to dye a strand in front so she still has some blue in her hair, since I cut off what was there...

Yes, Its like if she has a completely straight back, she blops over backwards, only if the chest piece is pushed over the belly button does she sit properly.

 

Don't worry about it, it's just a balance issue. Sometimes I can get Tzi to sit up while she's popped back, but usually it requires moving her hands to hold herself up.

Also, I spent the day with Designed for Smiles and I got some great pics she told me I could spam! Oooh, I want my Pong now!

Now I'm just trying to figure out this leg joint. It doesn't seem to want to snap into the pose as easily as the other one, which has prolly something to do with the thigh joint getting stuck.

@TweetyCKP: Haha, it has been jokingly rumored that FairyLand puts addictive substances in their resin so we'll buy more. In all seriousness, I'm personally just fine with dolls being my anti-drug!
Eleona's Alice is a normal Piki face with a custom faceup! The way her little lips are painted, she does sort of look like she's singing. There was also a Singing Piki faceplate during one of FairyLand's events, but it has more of a wider, heart-shaped mouth.

@Eleona: Alice's spring attire is beautiful! Did you make it yourself?

@Mehi: Your Pong's home looks very well-furnished! Where did you get such tiny little wine glasses?

@Plushie: Madison's home looks wonderful! I love that she has a little bakery downstairs. One of my dolls is eventually going to be a pastry chef.

@Brett: So happy you got to come over~! I'm glad you had fun with Omi. She had a lot of fun, too! Looking forward to seeing the whole photoshoot!

 

Yep...I'm officially a goner now...I've just purchased a Puki Puki Sugar earlier this afternoon and I haven't even received my PKF Ante yet! So, now I'm expecting two FL dolls within a month of each other! So...Wow! I'm officially addicted and I haven't even got to hold my first BJD yet! I think the addictive substance must stream right through the Internet to my keyboard each time I look at their site...and somehow one of their dolls magically appears in my cart! So, no more going to FL or DDE for me for at least 6 months so I have time to get my dollies and love them!

The singing face sounds cool but I love how the face-up can achieve the same type of look! She's so pretty!
