Fairyland PukiPuki discussion part 11

Loving all the Halloween spam! I would contribute, but I spent two hours doing my makeup for my own costume before I remembered Omi's, and then I didn't want to get her all dirty with the stuff I put all over my hands. So I guess she just spent her Halloween as Sleeping Cutie!

 

designedforsmiles ~ Don't feel bad, I built an entire Puki graveyard and didn't take pictures. It was for the dollmeet but I wanted to do some photoshoots with it. Too late now...I missed Halloween!!

 

DFS, you could always dress her up anyway for the meetup this weekend .
Tzi just got her costume a few hours ago, after the trick or treaters had all gone through.

 

I am halfway through making a Victorian-ish/marieantoinette-ish dress for Andi, and I am sooo tempted to make one for Porridge. We shall see....

 

VampireAngel13, it's never too late for a nice graveyard shoot., but if you need a reason, November 2 is Day of the Dead.

I just ordered Pongpong with both faces and an extra Puki body, so I'll have Pongpong twins - can't wait for them to arrive! Now to buy wigs and clothes and shoes, waaa~h!

So apart from being in extreme squee mode after receiving a shipment of dress, wig, and magic parts for my puki sugar, has anyone noticed that the mohair wigs have a thinning sort of bald spot on top, and the wig is slightly peaked? Or is it just mine?
Also I shall post picspam later, though I cannot figure out how to put on her bonnet without going insane... actually for reals though, I'm not sure how to put it on!

Sundaes: I got a Fairyland mohair wig last year and noticed the same problem. I've tried to stitch it into a more curved shape rather than pointy, but I find hair clips more useful for covering the spot. My wig is the dark brown one for Pukis. Morgan hates the fact that some of the times she has a bald spot.

 

Ooh so I am not the only one... thankyou FeyFriend. I was thinking I might have to use hair clips too its a little unseemly for a cute little girl to have a bald spot!!

 

Are there any good places to pukipuki cloths that will fit a felix brownie. Y_Y I cant find any posts for people that have a felix brownie

 

Puki wigs seem to be a constant sorce for trouble >< I just can't find one that'd be suitable for Ezio ... I bought a long brown one from Fairland and thought I could style it ... but it just wouldn't work. ... any suggestions for a wig including ponytail and bangs to the side? (anyone familiar with Ezio Auditore will know what I mean) ...

On another note: So jealous of all the awesome Halloween Pukis!!! Next year I'll join the fun! *makes vow* And I hope I'll be able to at least contribute around Christmas!
Just gotta drop this here but the PukiPuki-Comm is so far the sweetest and greatest sub-group I came across in BJD-verse x3 So glad I can be part of it!

 

I second the jealousy! *dropping in because I've been so busy* I hope I too can join in the awesome halloween puki-ness next year. But I totally agree with you that the PukiPuki thread is super nice. There is not a single other thread where I have felt this welcome and included even when I'm not posting or just requesting spam.

So thank you PukiPersons for being awesome and kind and welcoming.

Malina's new wig arrived today! As well as a pair of light pink leggings. To celebrate I made her a colourful top out of the same material I used for Ukkie's wizard costume

Just wanted to share a pic of Casper, my Pong. He used to be a girl but I wasn't bonding with him very well so I turned him into a boy instead and now I adore him! His wig came yesterday and I think he looks so cute =)

I'm excited to be getting my first puki. I won't be able to have her until January, or February, but I'll be excited when she gets here.

It's a Pong, because I need a little happy in my life. I just got "dumped" by my best friends, and yesterday I broke up with my BF.

still having a rough time since the wreck. I'm not doing as much as I used to.
However, I'm planning on going to a local dollmeet next month! (possibly with DD and a friend to be my 1:1 dolls)

One of the bad things about the wreck, (even though the guy will have to eventually pay this all back to me) is I'm being nickled and dimed to death, and don't have spare cash for doll stuff.

My dollies are so patient with me, they shop on line saying OooH and Ahhh but aren't hitting the "buy" button.

(hee hee, when I get some decent light, I'll have to do a photostory about the pukis and their laptop and having to take turns shopping and adding things to their wish lists.)

 

also search on ETSY under "puki" or "lati white" LOTS of people are making cool stuff for Pukis.

 

Hey, does anyone know: Does fairyland to different face ups for the fullsets than for the basics.
as in does the fullset get a much more characterized face up, and the basics more neutral?

(I'm waffling here... even though I have no money)

Thanks, Jett is not so uniform as in the picture, his limbs are more dark brown than black.

AnLlo, I love the color on Bastet. Which brand of dye/what color of dye did you use? It looks like a much more even tan color than most people seem to get with dying. I love how they both turned out. And I like how Bastet's name has Bast in it, since she was a cat goddess in Egypt, it works perfectly for a pukisha.

 

I thought of that but they show more in the photo because of the flash than in real.

It took me a lot of time, even after bought them to dye them, but it's simpler than I thought.

Thanks, now I need to make Bastet's dress. An Egyptian Goddess cannot walking around naked.

 

I used Liquid Ryt in Tan, the original colour of the doll was NS, I don't know the proportion of water/dye, I put until it got a dark golden brown colour. Once I tried on a piece and see the time that was needed (1 minute for each piece)
In Jett was used Liquid Ryt Black and the doll was WS. I should had put more dye because he got some brown parts.
The name Bastet is used in Portugal for the Egyptian Goddess, that's why she is like that

 

OH! Nevermind! I should have posted sooner.. isn't it like murphy's law.. as soon as I tell someone, ask how to fix it.. of *course* I'd find it (and thankfully I didn't have to follow dogs around the backyard with plastic bags, lol.. not that I was going to.. but still).

Gaaah! I just lost a foot to my puki sugar. I'm just sick about it. I can't find it and fear one of the dogs got it. It could be in a stomach, or somewhere in my backyard. Imagine trying to find a puki foot in an acre.

Anyone know if fairyland will replace a lost foot (I'd pay of course).. or do I have to hope someone has a spare parts puki? Or hooves.. I could maybe do hooves. Where do I look for those? I don't want to get anyone in trouble (myself included).. about asking where to find things or how I could "fix" this.. so if I'm out of line, please someone let me know... I'll re-word that said, don't get yourself in trouble either.

 

My new little guy(Pongpong) arrived today...........his name is Oscar, and he's definetely a mischief maker. I think he's driving Opie(my Pipi) crazy already, LOL!

During this time though, MeeMee did lose a foot ;_; I searched all my bags and it wasn't there. I think it must of come off on the train back when I got her out of my bag to sort some things out, so does anyone know if FL will sell a pair of feet to me? My other idea is to use my incoming Cupid3's feet and buy the winged top boots for him to wear *sighs* It may sound horrible as I love all my Puki's the same, but I wouldn't be so bothered if it were one of the others...MeeMee was my 1st Puki ;_;

Avery played the role of baby in a shoot that I did yesterday for a photo prompt on dA, it was a very out of character shoot for both her and my mini girl but I thought the resulting pictures were pretty adorable so here's some spam for all of you :3

 

If you ordered directly from fairyland they'll let you order replacement parts (i had the same problem) a pair of feet ran me $9 + shipping.

 

My Pong arrived today! He is simply the cutest little one I've seen. His smile makes me smile. I already had clothes and a wig waiting for him and now I'm trying them on. As soon as I figure out how to post pics, I will do. Happy day!!!

If you think your dog got it, please be sure to keep an eye on him/her because I've heard resin is extremely toxic to them AND if they chewed it up, the slivers of resin could severely damage their intestinal tract. If you're pretty sure there's a good chance your dog got ahold of the foot, I would take him/her to the vet immediately.

Kirri is a sleeping Pong, she has her twin brother Nim who is the open eye version and i do also have the singing Piki his name is Thilo, the open mouth pukis are just sooo adorable, i can't resist them.
