Fairyland Pukifee discussion part 27

May 24, 2017

    1. It is - I have the camper, city loft dollhouse and dance studio, too. They're really well made, especially for playline items, and perfectly in scale.

@EleanorLamb -I have both sizes (one Littlefee and quite a few Pukifees) and the Pukifees are easier to find props and accessories for, as well as easier to take places and photograph. Posing is pretty similar - you won't be disappointed with either one. Sometimes the Pukifees need shoes to balance perfectly - they're a little topheavy - but they do balance well. I think it just comes down to which size you're more comfortable with. Hope that at least sort of helps....

    2. thanks
good to know. i think one of the specialty toy shops in town is starting to carry the lori stuff. so i'll have to go see.

an added comment on pukifee balancing. if you just want them to stand the magnets in the pukifee feet mean you can put them on a cookie sheet or a litttle metal disk to help balance. i love the discs that come from the dollar store with magnets attached. i keep the discs and discard the magnets! if i don't want the disc or cookie sheet to show, i simply lay a light weight piece of fabric down on top of them and use it as a "rug" the magnets are strong enough to go through if the fabric isn't too thick

    3. Hummmm . . . most of my PukiFees are very cheeky while most of my LittleFees are a bit quiet and very sweet.

    4. Another thing in favor of pukifee is that they're super portable. A large sunglasses case is the perfect travel spot, and it means you can take pictures or just enjoy your doll while you're out and about. I like to bring mine on outings to nearby parks - they fit in all sorts of nooks and crannies and are pretty discrete if you're shy about being seen in public with dolls. (That being said, if you are planning on doing a lot of crafting for your doll, you may find Littlefee an easier size to start with).

And because pictures are fun, here's one from exploring a local nature trail:

    5. Thanks EleanorLamb. I actually have 4 more PukiFees now - 3 tan and an event plate - and another event plate on a RealFee body. I have collected since the beginning of 2006 though and I don't spend money on anything else. I mean I don't use make up, I never go out, I use my clothes until they are worn out, I never buy music and all that sort of stuff. I did get a new desktop computer a little over a year ago but the old one was 9 years old. I do have an iPad but my phone isn't a smartphone. It's the cheapest Nokia and it's about 4 or 5 years old.

Trillian I love Harper. She's such a cute girl.

    6. I've been so distracted lately. I almost bought shoes for Critter. Which would have been a waste, as she has hooves nowadays.

    8. @auntbear they're the sheep hooves that Fairyland released with the Rin fullset. You can buy them separately!

    9. thanks! i may have to get a pair and see if with painting i can get a pukifee faun after all... how well does she stand in them? do they have magnets in the bottom like regular feet?

    10. Yes, they have magnets, and I'd say they actually help her stand a little better! The downside is that she can't wear cute shoes though....haha.

    11. luckily i have enough dolls that wear cute shoes, so that wouldn't bother me too much. i tried for a long time to get the daisy dayes faun legs for one of mine, but no luck. this would take a lot more modding but it would still give me a start

    12. My Pukifee Rin got herself a new dress...

I have to get around to getting her a more natural wig and eyes.

    18. My tan Arong just came in Saturday! I can't wait to get to work making their character. Right now they'really walking around bald and naked, lol.

Ohhh, I really want to see Arong in tan skin, so please be sure a post a picture! I'm debating whether my next Pukifee should be Flora or Arong.

    20. @FloatingFaeries

I definitely will. Though they'll be bald for most of them when I get to it this week, lol.

    26. That is a very good question. I slept under the bed :sneaky

Haha no, not really! I currently live in what used to be a guest room which have two beds, one being my bed and the other now being my dolls' bed ;)

Also, today is a very special day for me. It's been exactly six years since I picked up my first ever ball jointed doll from the post office! Pocca is turning six years old today, yaay! :cheer

    30. @Akara I always love seeing your little ones. They're so cute!

Critter still has no clothes, but hey...I worked on her faceup. So that's something?

    31. @Redfaery Aww thank you! Your little Critter is super adorable too! I love that she has such long hair! :whee:

    32. Those green eyes really pop with the pink hair. Gorgeous!

    33. Molly noticed that Bastian was really squinting a lot, and he admitted that he was having a bit of trouble seeing clearly,so she found some eye glasses for him. I think he needs to see an Ophthalmologist.

    37. Lots of great pics posted lately! It's fun to see the different styles you can get with such a tiny size.

Here's a quick picture from the other day. Think I decided on "Pulsar" for her name, since she'll be an alien sidekick to an msd named "Quasar". I have lots of aesthetic work to do, but she's fun to play with as-is until I can get to all that.

    39. Two of my PKF gift plates finally got faceups...this is the first of them, my PKF Juri gift plate. Right now we're calling her Ash, and I'm 95% she's decided she's a girl. I'll post my Nanuri tomorrow...we still have to decide on wigs and clothing.

    40. @clochette

What a beautiful faceup! I have a Juri faceplate and I'm trying to figure out her/his character before I send it off for a faceup.

    41. Thank you! Usually I let her have a free hand with the plates with maybe a gender specification, but this time it was whatever they told her they were.

Here's the second kiddo, who definitely turned out to be a boy. He's a Nanuri face, and we're naming him Jasper.

Oooh, a boy Nanuri? I haven't seen that yet. He looks adorable! If you don't mind me asking, who did the faceups for these little guys?

    43. Pam Ford (PamSD here), she's done all the faceups on my faceless kids :D

    44. I finally got a group shot of Maddy and her sisters.

Left to right, its Thessaly, Bowie, Swan, Sigourney, Maddy, Alcyone and Rhiannon. It's not the best because I was getting munched on by mosquitoes trying to set it up.

    45. Great group shot, but sorry for the bugs! The little sitting tan girl in the blue flowered dress is very cute, is she an Icis?

    46. She is. :) She's had about eight different wigs so far, but she may actually keep this one.

    47. @clochette jasper is going to be a perfect as a little boy! I can see him getting into all sorts of trouble ;)

    48. Just curious, where would one purchase a pukifee body if they had a spare face plate? Just request it from Denver Dolls or Fairyland directly?

    49. Unfortunately not. They don't sell bodies or headbacks for the smaller dolls, event at request. You'd have to look at the MP or order a full doll and sell that faceplate (or keep it, I suppose).

    50. @ohbumblebee Perhaps they'd do a sleeping plate with a body, without the non-sleeping one? Or I suppose find a cheap full doll you don't like the face of, and keep it for funsies... Kind of an odd situation when they release special plates but don't sell the body separately.

    51. Nope they don't usually sell sleeping faces with bodies either. You have to either find a body without a faceplate secondhand, which has happened - or purchase a new doll (basic is best for that) and either keep or sell the faceplate.

I've done it plenty of times, although usually with RealPukis and LittleFees, but I have purchased both secondhand and new bodies for faceplates I already have and then usually sold any extra faceplates.

    52. Popping in with a quick pic of Pulsar. She fit into this old Cardcaptor outfit!

    53. It is super odd and definitely frustrating. I have two floating faceplates and no idea when or if I will ever get bodies or headbacks for them. MNF event heads come with the headback (though admittedly it would be weird to send it without), and you can buy the bodies separately too. I feel like there's enough of a desire for it, but FL hasn't done much outside of selling realfee connectors.

      • x 1
    54. I really wish Fairyland offer bodies and heads separately. It's hard to find just pukifee bodies and you'll almost always end up with extra faceplates or bodies that share faceplates.

    55. Can anyone show me a Crystal and a Luna together? Thanks!
