Fairyland Pukifee discussion part 22

Jul 23, 2014

    1. Thank you! Yes, I knitted her sweater. I've really been enjoying knitting for this size! Way more than I thought I would! LOL Thanks again! Hugs, Barbara

      Thank you! Hugs, Barbara

    2. Gorgeous sweater Barbara! I love hand knitted clothes.
There are so many talented people here, and all the doll pictures just make me feel so happy.

    3. That is so cool! I'm just starting to learn to knit in this size! I downloaded some patterns from Wovenflame, I'm trying to understand how to knit a hat using the double ended knitting needles! I love the little snowman on her sweater!

Here's a picture of Reina and her new girl pal, I did her blush up myself:)

    4. oh nooo, she is too cute and her sweater is adorable!

sunrei i've been admiring your mermaid girl on flickr, her blushing is really lovely :) do you already know how to knit or are you starting from scratch? i'd love to knit stuff for my girls but i'm worried that it will be extra hard to learn on such tiny things!

    5. Hi Petitemarine!
Thanks for checking out my Flickr! I'm new to knitting overall, started last Christmass, made a scarf for myself and one for my pukifee:) I have a picture of Reina knitting it on Flickr :D

    6. Tiny knitting is so quick, if a bit fiddly, but I don't like double ended needles, prefer to knit flat then sew together. Must get knitting!

    7. Knitting squares, tubes, and rectangles comes pretty easily to me, but knitting with any kind of shaping confuses me. @__@ I stick to crochet 'cause I understand the terms better and you only need one hook, haha. If I had an in-person teacher it'd probably be a different story.

Is anyone else crafting for their incoming PukiFée? I'm planning on making my tan Shiwoo based on a video game character, so he'll have a beak-like bird nose (not a full beak) and bird wings which I'm planning on making out of whatever sculpting medium I can find at the crafting store, and a couple of feather wigs. :)

    8. What a sweet picture...

      He sounds so cute...

I have been gathering items for two room boxes for Vanilla and friend; still deciding on who the friends will be.

I figure this will be a fun project to work on after the holidays. I am thinking we won't see our little ones until March or later.

Dose anyone have any icis spam?
And what does everyone thing about the new vanilla face up? I am having a hard time seeing card
      spade as a girl.

    9. considering i never get default faceups, i think it's cute but i think it's supposed to be a boy not a girl anyway (in spite of the little ponytail on top)

    10. I agree I think that this vanilla is a boy...

I guess what I am asking is if he could be a she? I am not getting the full set but was thinking of getting the default face but I am not sure if I see him as a her.

    11. Definitely, looks very much like my Vanilla girl, who has freckles.

    12. since at this age often the only way to tell the difference between boys and girls is the hairstyle and clothes, i think you could make her into a convincing girl. with the freckles she might be a bit of a tomboy instead of a girly girl but i think she could be very cute none the less. i have a couple of girls that are like that.

    13. I'm really torn between vanilla and cony @.@;;;;

doesn anyone own both of these lil ones and have a photo together of them?

    14. I bought vanilla as a girl character but then again, I sometimes find it difficult to discern gender in dolls especially being agender myself. I just... know a lot of people who have short hair and wear "men's clothes" but are female and plenty of people with long hair and who wear "women's clothes" that are male.

(TBH I am not sure how freckles make someone a tomboy or not? Could someone explain this?)

    15. I think it is just part of a literary/ historical stereotype, think Anne of Green Gables and Little House on the Prairie, Pippi Longstocking etc. Older people (like me) tend to refer to boyish girls who like to climb trees and be outside (so they get freckles from the sun) as tomboys. I was one ;-)

    16. Yes, me :) They are both in beauty white though, Cony has the default face-up but Vanilla has a custom face-up. If you don't mind I can tae a pic for you :)

    17. Has anyone seen one of the new Juri event heads with a faceup yet? I will be getting one with my incoming Icis, but I can't decide whether it will be a boy or a girl. I was leaning towards boy, but I think my collection (current and planned) is getting a bit boy-heavy, and after seeing Gigiholy's pics on Flickr next to a Minifee Chloe, all I can see now is Pukifee Chloe... And she would be cute!

    18. Oh thank goodness I still see a little guy, I just had to look cos I was curious
show me your boysssss I want inspiration!

    19. BlueMoonJules....Thank you for the picture your right they do look alike and she is adorable.

At the moment I think I am ordering Vanilla and Bonnie both tan with face ups. I was going to get one blank and have a custom face done but they are my first pukifees and I need immediate enjoyment.

    20. I really think Vanilla could work for either gender, and I've seen really cute ones in each gender. I like Vanilla because the mouth reminds me of my little nephew, but I plan on getting a Beauty White Vanilla in the future for a girl character. :)

    21. I agree, Vanilla is one of the pukifees that works for boy or girl...the NF faceplate also.

    22. oh yes i would love to see them together! :)

    23. Wow Lil Spark...your Cony is so pretty! And different I think from my basic.
Does your girl have eyeshadow in grey? Purple?

    24. Awww, they are so cute

    25. Her name is Marisol :) Her eye shadow is somewhat greyish purple:

Now only my Dony needs a name :)

    26. She is so cute, I love that face.

    27. I ordered a Pongpong today! :dance I've been wanting one for years, so I'm pretty excited! I'll be naming him Pintsize, haha.

Can I request some Pong spam, please!? :aheartbea

    28. yup, that was what i meant ;) "girly" girls are less likely to be running around outside getting sunburnt and all freckly, whereas tomboys are. it's the size of the freckles too. the ones on that faceup are pretty big rather than dainty and delicate. the kind you'd get from being out in the sun lots. (as a side note my little brother who was red haired and very freckly used to hope that if he was out in the sun enough his freckles would grow together and he would end up with a tan instead! - unfortunately for him it never worked.)

freckles by themselves don't necessarily make you a tomboy though. i think just about every doll i have has freckles of some kind. it's more the size and placement, and then it would depend on your hairstyle and clothes.

    29. so I've ordered my tan Luna and I'm so excited! I have plans for a ws Luna as well for a set of triplets but for now Mack is the one getting spoiled. heh This new outfit just arrived today and I don't think she's going to be taking it off for awhile. :)

    32. I'm really enjoying all the wonderful pictures!!! Thanks for sharing them and please keep them coming!!!
Does anyone know how the tan Pukifee compare in color to Nikki Britt's Milk Chocolate little ones? I am still trying to decide which color and sculpt I want to get! I am loving them all!!! The tan deadline will be here before I know it so I need to make up my mind if the tan is what I want!!! LOL Oh, decisions, decisions!!! :) Which color do you prefer and why??? Comparison pictures??? Thanks! Hugs, Barbara

    33. Reina is just the sweetest

The spider is Boris, her pet. And look who flew in all they way from R'leyh!

    40. I love the FL dolls they posted! * 0* I love that vanilla! I kind of like the littlefee event faceplate.

    41. My tan Icis and Vanilla are officially ordered :)

    42. Sorry I've been gone for song long everyone, but something unimaginable happened.
I was dressing Ella and I had to take off her hands to get her arms through the sleeves and when I took off her left hand the magnet from inside it came out! :o
At first I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Then I calmed down because I knew it was an easy fix and I'd heard about this happening to other people. So I got some glue and glued the magnet back in place, while making quite sure that I had it the right way around. So anyway, I let it dry and then tried to put the hand back on Ella, aaaaaannnnnddd, It was negative to negative. :...( I must have let the magnet flip over at some point without realising it! :doh Now I've got to buy Ella a new hand.
So yeah, that was my moment of stupidity. Has anyone else done this before?

    43. RosieART, is there any way to take the magnet back out? What kind of glue did you use? Sorry that it happened but maybe it's fixable!

Lil Spark, Congratulations on getting your order placed!!! I look forward to seeing them! Did you order them blank or with face ups?

      Hugs, Barbara

    44. I was successfull at getting magnets out again when putting the part into the freezer for at least one day and then put it into boiling water afterwards.

    45. I've heard that boiling in hot water should get the magnet out again. I had a problem with a loose magnet, too. I put the magnets together and used superglue, just a tiny drop. That way I had the right sides together.

    46. I've already tried to pry it out, but I used superglue and I'm afraid that I'll break the hand if I try too hard. :pout:

Lil Spark and Aurinel: Thanks for the idea. I guess it's worth a shot!

    47. RosieArt, Superglue can be dissolved with fingernail polish remover, I don't know if it would hurt the resin though if the other ideas don't work!

    48. madebybarbara: Thanks!

    49. I've only used nail polish remover on my Ringdoll before, when I messed up on the paint job, it doesn't leave any lasting effect on the resin that I can see. Just be sure to protect the faceplate or take it off in case you get any on the paint by mistake!

    50. Neelie, her big sister Peanut, and their friends Gourd and Muckle John are heading out trick or treating. Have you got your candy ready?

    51. i'm assuming it's the acetone in fingernail polish that dissolves the super glue? i use strait acetone to remove all my faceups and i've never had a problem. just rinse really well afterwards to make sure their is no residue left on. i prefer the straight acetone 'cause i had some of the colored fingernail polish stain one of my girls once and it was really hard to get off! for a while i had a pale blue face :doh

wovenflame poor gourd looks like he's already finished his treak or treating, he's all worn out. you can send them to our house though. we had lots of candy and very few kids. luckily a friends husband is a firefighter and they collect leftover candy and take it to all the kids that were in the childrens hospital over halloween, so that's where our extra goes.

    52. Adorable group shot. Someone looks like he got tired from all of the trick-n-treating :)

    53. Cute! How did everyone's Halloween go?

    54. I ordered both of them blank :)

    55. I thought seeing them together would make it easier, but it's only made it harder to choose! @.@;;

    56. I'm sorry

    57. My daughter and I met with some friends and went to a doll show today. I took my LTF, but I guess I should have brought Kenzie, my PKF Mio, since nearly everything I bought was for her! LOL! I discovered she can fit into some Helen Kish items - at least the ballet leotard with attached tutu fits. The tights are too long and the headband is too tight to fit over her big ole chibi head, though!
