Fairyland Pukifee discussion part 21

Thanks Ban Sidhe. At least, my girl is not the odd one out. Her faceplate is staying on ok with the funtak/patafix so now it is a case of 'oh no, with all these faceplates problems, I have to redo the pigtails!'. The last time I tried to do that with a Monique wig I never got anywhere: the hair were too lively.

I think I found a way around that pigtails problem: if I wash the wig, the hair will stuck together. Then I just have to put some elastics and wait till the wig dries out. It should work.

 

Unpacking doll stuff and decided to try Cinnamon's red wig on Fable! It's pretty cute, imo!

Antes usually look cute in almost every color ^_^. I'm currently trying to find the right wig and eye color for my Ante. And she still needs a name... she's my newest doll addition but I already adore her very much.

Lilla, I have found that Nexcare First Aid Tape works wonderfully for loose head/face-plates. It also helps slightly loose wigs stay on better.

I have a question if anyone is able to help. I was thinking about buying lati yellow sheep legs and was wondering could the be used for pukifee?

 

SmoteyMote: the red hair, green eyes, ribbon dress all go together beautifully! I think Fable should keep that wig!

 

tehkiwi106 i'm not sure that the lati sheep legs would work without modifications, it looks like they need to connect to a "ball" type knee joint which won't work for the pukifees because the ball part of their knees is joined to the lower leg pieces (if that makes sense..) i don't have a lati so i'm not 100% certain but it looks to me like they have a separate knee joint which would sit inside the sheep leg? sorry

 

You know, I've been eyeing up those same sheep legs and I'm pretty sure they won't work without modding. Like petitemarine said, they have a totally differently-shaped knee joint. You'd have to custom-make a peanut that works with both parts. I'd love to take a shot at it with my Dremel and some clay, but it's just not in my doll plans right now. I keep going back and forth on it. D:

 

Those who answered above are correct. However, if you have the upper thigh and knee parts from lati, it works okay. My bonnie wears lati reindeer kuroo legs. If i am ever brave enough, i may mod said legs so the top part of the pukifee leg fits on top, but they work okay for now, just a little more finnicky to pose.

The shoes are from Rosenlied. Unfortunately they are sold out at the moment. We should all pester Rosenlied to re-make them .

 

does rosenleid have other shoes in that size? and do they generally fit without socks? (if so i'll definitely join you in pestering them )

 

It did, thanks! My boobs feel weird but my back feels so much better already! I went back to work for the first time today too and it went well so I'm glad!

Cinnamon is tan - he's a luts tiny delf unicorn centaur. I need to get a photo of him and Fable together since the only ones I have of them are when they're both faceupless!

I really like that silver wig on her! She reminds me of a Willow or a Sylvia! I can't wait to see what other combinations you try though!

She is very cute in it. If it wasn't HUGE on her I'd be more inclined to have her wear it more often!

i got my deer parts from sparrow's shop today and i'm so obsessed, they're perfect!! i still haven't finished reblushing her hooves yet though, they're a huge pain in the butt u__u

Awwww, I kinda like how it's a little big on her it makes her look more like an untamed sprite!

I did, and it looked downright silly. I actually got my hands on a friend's dremel and did quite a bit of modding to get her to fit...I will try to take pics the next time I get a chance (and I actually owe YOU a specific pic, too. Don't think I have forgotten!), specifically of the inside of her horse bits so you can see all the places I shaped her!

 

that looks so much better than the resin ones. i think my 'taur may be getting quite a few mods in the fall! i still haven't decided whether i like the pukifee or lati hybrid better though.

im sure they are all glad you are safely home again too.

my faun willow is finished!! however i'm having a lot of trouble restringing the legs, they're sooo floppy she can barely stand at all and i'm sure there's a better way to do them. does anyone have any ideas?

 

Oh my goodness, she looks AMAZING! I have no idea how to fix the legs, sadly, with her hooves. D: Is the knot in an inconvenient place, maybe? Or just need to be moved to tighten everything up?

 

thank you!! the knot is in the right place, i think i may need to try a different method though as i've used 3 loops of elastic (since that's how she came to me) but i could probably just use one. i should have thought about it more before i started!

Willow is amazing! I've got the PukiPuki faun legs, so not sure if they're different, but I followed the tutorial here http://daisydayes.blogspot.com.au/2009/08/puki-to-faun-leg-swap-tutorial.html to attach them. I hope that can help you out!

SmoteyMote - Fable and Cinnamon are so cute together! I'm not sure if you've mentioned it before, but would you mind sharing where you got Fable's eyes from? I'm on the hunt for (reasonably priced) eyes that have 'life' in them for my pukifees.

i used acrylic paint on the actual hoof parts and pastels on the rest, however i did have two coats of skin coloured acrylic underneath to cover up the nasty green staining from the previous blushing, which i think helped with the coverage. i love your little puck by the way!!

WHERE did you get those fawn legs? I had no clue someone had made them for pukifee!

 

they were made by daisy dayes a few years ago but they're only available second hand now and are pretty hard to find i think!

Hey guys, so I want to get my pukifee a new set of eyes. I'm not sure if I should get 10mm or 12mm, which do you prefer? And it would be really awesome to see some comparison pictures too!

 

Personally I prefer 10mm (or even 8) for pukifees, I have several pairs from the eBay shop SmoteyMote mentioned above, and I really like all of them.

I just sold one of my dolls so I can pay off the biggest amount of my Cony and Dony fullsets, that's amazing

 

Here is a faceless Fable with 12mm mako eyes, which tend to run a little smaller (like 11mm)

I will soon order Mako eyes for my three tan Pukifees and those will also be 12mm since they don't make 10mm eyes.

re: eyes, i like 12mm because i like big cartoony eyes but i think not all sculpts can fit 12mm? my luna can definitely not wear anything larger than the 10mm acrylics she came with, not even the mako 12mm :/

 

oh, that's why I can't imagine my Luna with 12mm eyes, the default 10mm look already big.. here she has 8mm eyes (and Mio has 8mm too, their eyes shape is the same)

petitemarine I see that your luna is called Luna too and I saw also many littlefee Lunas that kept their name... FL has chosen the best name for the sculpt :P

 

oh, the 8mm looks good! thanks for the picture, i was hesitant to order 8mm for her because i thought they might be too small but they look fine!
yes i tried to name her something else when i first got her but luna just seemed to stick!

I've only had a cupid before but she was handed down to me a few years ago. Ante however was my first one I personally bought though! I didn't expect her to come here so fast though after seeing that fairyland is still dealing with bjds from January still! Not complaining though! And I love the fact she came with default blueish-purple eyes since her hair is purple! It was like destiny

 

Thanks Kirahfaye, I'll check it straight away. I gave up the pigtails idea and cut the Monique honor wig to shoulder length. She looks far better that way.
