I really hope they offer him a la carte right away. I’d like to get the sculpt and turn it into a girl. He has such a sweet face. I really love his nose.

 

Through a little "detective work" I got to Fairyland's sale page of him! He also has an annoyed-looking event head! I may have to order him...

It also looks like there's two options for the event head. I wonder what the B head looks like.
Another edit to say I found it in their Image Blog. Sarang (B) is a vampire head.

He is so moody looking! I love him!, but I can't let my Minifee see him, or she will want a boyfriend. Curse you Fairyland for making lovely dolls!!

 

I wonder if it's like the Halloween release where the event head is only for full package orders? Or if there will be another event head with the Spring event?

 

What you have there in your hand is actually two pieces that come apart like so:


If she's so tight you can't get the slack to pull those bits apart, you're either gonna have to ask someone for help, or get you a pair of hemostats like what I used on mine. They're super handy to have around in general when it comes to doll stuff, so I recommend acquiring some regardless

 

The Mad hatter looks absolutely gorgeous. I love every detail, his hat and his caterpillar friend. But since I'm still hesitant about buying a boy doll, my wallet will be safe for this spring event.

 

I am doomed, Alan hits my every check box.

 

Good news! Alan is posted on a la carte already and he looks amazing blank! I am absolutely getting him as a girl. I am obsessed with the chubby noses we have been getting recently! Bummer that they’ve made two incredible event heads though. It’s too hard to choose. Also, it’s a little odd that they haven’t made an official event post yet isn’t it? I am also a little confused on if the event heads are only with the full sets, or if you have to reach an order total like past events.

 

Alan is super cute, and he may suit one of my characters better than the other sculpt I ordered for him! Both event heads are cute too, it's hard to decide between them. I adore fanged heads, but that little smirk is also amazing.

 

Yeah...I am doomed too! I will have to look over the options. I always have to look over the differences between the packages carefully to get it right. So many options!

 

Crap I really like the head A, plus just him in general, plus I wanted my next doll to be a boy. Why do these companies do this to us hahah

 

I am thinking hemostats will be on my shopping list this coming week. Have no idea what department of my local supermarket I will find them in, but I will try the pharmacy area first. Thank you!

I knew I had to get the parts to separate, but am not able to manage it on my own. I will look for a pair of hemostats, because they sound like they would be quite useful! Thank you for the advice!

 

Alan is really stunning! I have to focus on another project now and have to pass on him, however. I will wait for everyone's owner picture here. And pray for fairyland to not release any mermaid this year... or I'm surly die

ps. Just notice that the official said that what I thought was a caterpillar are called Absolem the Butterfly

Edit : I'm not totally safe. Haha. Just joined a split for partial of Alan's cloth. Not a big damage. Now keep watch out for the mermaid

 

I don’t know! I love the new guy in his outfit but I don’t know if that’s enough to justify using months worth of dolly budget. Plus, this pandemic doesn’t seem to know when to quit.

 

I am searching around for a split for that vampire event head! I can’t justify buying another full set so the search begins!

 

I'm sure it is, that's what they did with the last few releases in all sizes.

@Spectrum_Rhapsody , I got mine on ebay. I doubt a pharmacy would have them. They might have them at hardware stores? And of course Amazon has them.

Sooo... in June I ordered via DDE a Mirwen tan boy before FairyLand discontinued tan skin. I completed my layaway and I messaged DDE because the order was taking too long. Their first answer was "it should arrive anytime now, we're just waiting for it", so I stopped the messages.
Now I received an e-mail from DDE saying that they made a mistake with my order and FairyLand refused to create the doll because they don't offer tan anymore. DDE said I could get a female Mirwen in tan, another in stock tan boy, a natural/white skin Mirwen boy, or just a complete refund.
I decided to get the refund, but I'm so disappointed about this.

 

I'm sure you've probably seen it by now but I saw it on their Facebook page! I'm doing a split with someone on IG and I'm keeping his outfit, shoes, hat and the Sarang A gift head, it has such a crazy cute snarky smirk!

I think my Scar Shiwoo will be getting the outfit!

 

Does anyone know if Dina will eventually be available a la carte too?

Fortunately I'm safe this round as I'm really broke this month lol. Congrats to everyone who purchased Alain!

Anyone with Minifee Ria, could you kindly tell me exactly what the head measurement is? Someone I want to have custom headbands made is taking commissions soon, and my Ria is still on layaway for more 3 months so can't measure the head myself

 

Hands? Which hands for Minifee do you find the most useful? What do you use each type for? I look at all the hands and I get overwhelmed. If you can't remember the hand number, feel free to use a picture. Of course lots of pictures would be great as I love looking at pictures of your Minifees!

 

I use the left hand of #8 to hold down "paper" and the right hand of #6 to hold a pencil though depending on how you write, #4 and #8 could also hold a pencil. #3 are good basic relaxed hands. #6 and #4 and #7 can hold purses but #6L can't actually hold anything, you'd have to fake it) Left 7 and Right 3 could be at the piano and #8R could be nervously biting her nails Anyway, they can be fun and if you have a lot of MNFs you can probably share one set of hands NP

 

I was wondering about that, too. Alan is already selectable from the a la carte menu, but Dina is not.
I was kind of planning to order her through a la carte though, because I din't have the funds when she was available. Let's hope she becomes available soon.

 

You can buy her as a basic on the Fairyline body. That’s what I did back in December. I never buy fullsets.

They don’t let you pick the bust size, though, so that kinda sucks.

 

Yeah that’s why I was waiting for her to be available on a la carte (would prefer a smaller chest) but now I’m worried she won’t be there.

 

I'm debating on whether to get Alan in Normal or Beauty White...can I request some Beauty White doll pic spam? I feel like I don't see it enough.

@PaeoniaDrop Thanks, I've been following that tag pretty steadily since I'm waiting on an event Luha head of my own and wanted to see the pretties. I was curious how other sculpts looked in beauty white as well. I'm kind of leaning towards it since I actually don't have any dolls in that tone yet.

I’m still deciding though, as I feel like I have enough dolls already and don’t really need another doll, and it’s a pretty big purchase for “just” the oufit...
Does anyone know how long he’ll be available for? I’d love to know how long I have to decide.

 

@Eviana Usually there are people willing to split his outfit or sell it after he arrives. The full set dolls are typically available for a month-ish but that depends on how fast they sell out. They are not limited in quantity the same as ex. 100 sets but they do sell out eventually.

 

The event lasts until March 31st, so shouldn't the full set be available at least until then?

I really find the full set beautiful too, but for my budget is a little expensive. And then there is the shipping problem - with the restrictions that exist now the cost is very high. I didn't really look at Denver Doll yet - they ship to Europe too, right?

 

If I didn't already have a doll on layaway, I would so get Alan with the sleeping head as a replacement for my modded Kyle (glances over at dolls feeling fortunate they can't read).

 

not sure if anyone know this already, I asked FL and they said this sarang 2021 event is the last chance you can use mileage point.

btw do you guys prefer boy body or motion line body? what is the plus/minus of motion line vs the boy body? thanks for your help.

 

My Seorin, George, is ws! I quite like how nicely FLs white resin mellows over time.

There's four different types of boy body (not counting the fairyline), you'll have to be more specific. There's the new motion-line, moe-line, A-line (muscular and non), and the old B-line. The moe has been discontinued but you can still find it used, and pretty sure the same is true of the B. Between motion and A I'd say motion poses better, but I much prefer the aesthetic of the A.

 

ah yes... i did not mentioned fairyline body since i am mostly curious about motion vs normal (muscular/non mascular). They are fairly similar in terms of joint system, no? I mean... the fairyline has different hips joint. Thanks

 

Oh, he is a lovely boy! And the resin does seem to mellow nicely. I think I may just go for the beauty white.

Oh, I feel you! Fairyland always makes the most gorgeous outfits but they've really outdone themselves with this one.

I'm not sure if you're on FB or Insta ever, but there are a lot of splits going around for this guy! The FB groups in specific are BJD Lovers - Sales and BJD Addicts Commissions and Sales page; for insta, I think the most popular tag is #bjdsale. There's definitely ones where his outfit hasn't been claimed yet.

I myself joined a split so that I could get my hands on Absolem, his little caterpillar friend. I'm low-key obsessed with the caterpillar lol...

I did a thing. It looks like I ordered the Alan in fullset. Because I wanted so much the event A head in addition of the regular and sleeping heads...

Well I can't wait to get my refund with my taxes now, of course the first thing I plan on doing is get me a MiniFee Boy, Alan if he is still available to order.

 

@dxgirly I love how you did her blush/freckles. Also, it's crazy how the lips look so different than your first faceup! What did you do differently? I think it's so cool you do all your doll's faceups yourself, it's something I wanna try for myself as well

Thanks! I honestly didn't think about the swap, but maybe they didn't offer the option because then the CoA's may get messed up somehow (?) Not sure. I think they didn't forget it, but ordered Mirwen as female (I'm guessing she's not a popular boy, haha).
