Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 65

Jul 31, 2020

    1. That is so amazing, thank you for posting that @dxgirly !!!

    2. ah, ok - thank you! I was sure it couldn't be just the premium eyes :)

    3. There are a lot of idiots out there when it comes to what they "think" is correct. NF is definitely a Fairyland head, and it should have it (or Juri or Nanuri) stamped inside its head with the date.

Sometimes you can find Event heads on the Fairyland blog, where they usually post photos of things like event heads, posing and incoming dolls. They have photos from back in 2011, so if you need to settle your feelings on it, you can see if you can locate that particular post from 2014 and perhaps rub it in those idiots faces.

Yes, there was an F60 head known as "ID", but I'm not completely sure of all the details, I think it might have been one of those strange ones that was only at a certain event.

    4. @dxgirly Wow that's amazing. Thank you for sharing.

@erika2 I was also trying to figure that out. De Designer complete set has painted ears. That's the only difference if I'm right.
      I can't decide which I should order.

Oeps Sorry didn't notice it was already answered.

    5. Thank you :)

Luha is really pretty... But I think price difference is a bit much for painted ears, no? I think the best part is probably the vampire head - it's quite different from the other MNF vampires, no?

      • x 1
    6. Wow! Just took a look at Luha. Those half closed eyes are giving me Peakswood vibes! Very unique head for Fairyland.

      • x 1
    7. @erika2 I agree. I calculated the price difference is 80 usd for just the painted ears. It's a bit on the high side.
Yes the vampire head is just lovely. The way her normal teeth are also showing it's very sweet looking. Normally I'm scared of vampire heads :3nodding:

    8. Definitely one of the cutest vampire heads I've seen :D

    9. The Luha vampire head is super adorable, but she's not for me. I can't wait to see what others do with her when she arrives! I'm not a fan of visible teeth, I only own 3 dolls with teeth, and 2 of them are the Erda and Carol heads, which surprised even myself. :XD:

    10. @dxgirly Thanks for that reference photo, incredibly helpful for everyone!

@the*one*just*for*me I fully understand how you feel. Social media of any form seems to give some people an imaginary license to be complete assholes to others because they think they can get away with it as they don't have to face those they attack. Same thing happens in online gaming. They're cowards...ignorant arrogant cowards usually.
It's not nice being attacked for asking an innocent question and doubly so for those of us who do suffer dreadfully from mental issues. There's nothing wrong with having feelings and nothing wrong with you for geting upset by it so don't ever think it, they're the ones with the problem! Easier said than done, I know but true never the less.
Just remember the old saying "Empty vessels make the most noise!". Something that's so very true regarding people!

OK Minifee folks, you've been super helpful the last few times I've asked so I have one more request if any of you can help. I'm still trying to make up my mind which Minifee sculpt to go for and think I've finalised my shortlist but there's one sculpt I don't see many pictures of and that's Klaus. Anyone have a Klaus preferably as a girl or with non Fairyand faceup?
I do my own faceups but like to get a reasonable idea of the basic form of the sculpt which isn't always easy to see in official photos.
Thank you sooooo much once again!:D:eusa_pray

    12. Does anyone have a Nanuri 20 to show off? I'm undecided if I want to keep mine, and there are very few on Instagram.

    14. I've already seen all the ones on Instagram, so the tag search is not useful for me.

    15. Well, I found at least 6, which is pretty good for a face mold search, LOL. Especially a rare one. But I know how you feel, I always want to see more. Right now I'm waiting for the Ingrid F65 and all I can do is stare at the same half dozen promo shots :shudder

    16. @dxgirly Wow! I love that event head list. It’s so helpful.

I spent some time posing my Molly. She’s so freaking cute.

    17. Oh, I love Molly's autumn dress and boots, she's adorable indeed!

    18. You’re welcome, everyone!

I wanted to share with you guys one of my most recent girls, a Minifee Sircca. I decided to name her Cassidy.

    19. Oooh, I love Cassidy's flaming hair! And her hat! She's a beauty, @dxgirly !!

    20. Does anyone know anything about/own the Juri 20?? I've looked around and haven't really been able to find any, not even on Fairyland's image blog, but I noticed it on that big master pic of all the FL heads. I really like what I can see of it there, and I'd like to see more!

    21. For some reason, Fairyland never posted pictures, but Denver Doll Emporium did. I sure hope that it's accurate, because I'm in love with that face and should be getting one with my F65 Ingrid order. :D Unfortunately, I don't know of anyone receiving their orders yet,, but some said they got shipping notices, so hopefully it won't be long now :D

    22. I hope it's okay to talk about my Erda here even though he is fairy line?

I was looking to buy him fist hands - he only has default no 7 hands at the moment - but because the website photos only the top of the hands, it's hard to know what the hands look like properly.

Which hands would you recommend buying to make fist hands pair?

    23. @IngieBee oh nice, make sure to take lots of pictures when he arrives, haha! I'd love to see him from other angles <3
@astromayhem I'm not sure how hard the rules are about fairylines being posted in the minifee thread, but I do know that fairyline dolls do have their own independent thread in this same subforum! As for making fist hands, the number 4 pair would probably be closest? That or maybe the left hand from 6 and the right from 8? Those hands have a fairly feminine sculpt, however. Also, be wary heating and bending resin. It can be done, but it can also crack very easily.

    24. Ah ha! You see him as a boy as well! You know, I don't have a minifee boy, and this sculpt will be my first :). I promise to take awful pictures to post ( I'm a terrible photographer) when he gets here but I have my order on super long term layaway @Hakari-chan

    25. I don't think anyone has received theirs just yet. I have one coming in with my tan Luka, but I think I have at least another 2 weeks left before DDE receives my order.

    27. Oh my gosh, you found a picture @RoseEtoile!!! And he's so dang cute! Oh my gosh, I'm so excited now, maybe more so than the doll I ordered... maybe not, LOL. Thanks for posting! You know, he'd also make a great girl too... Oh dear, I'm having second thoughts, LOL

    28. Ah, thanks so much for sharing! Ugh I really do love him, wow! Definitely going to have to try and snag one, what great facial features.

      • x 1
    29. Now I'm starting to think he'd make an awesome girl :doh it's such a gorgeous sculpt!

    30. I've been spending literally all day with Eadith (SP Eva). I don't usually have favorites but there's something about her that makes me want to bring her on all my adventures.

    31. She looks tired from all that adventuring, LOL @PinkBear ! Very super cute, love all her colors together. Orange and purple are awesome!

    32. Does anyone know how to safely remove the eyelashes that come with a fairyland faceup? I thought about doing it but really don't want to risk the faceup.

    33. I can't think of anything truly safe. If you have a steady hand, it could be that cuttiing them off with an exacto knife would be best? I worry trying to loosen the glue with water will damage the finish. Even an exacto knife can cut into the finish, so... yah, it takes skill. What happened to the eyelashes that you need to take them off?

    34. I've had success getting tweezers and just very carefully peeling them off from the inside? The seam of the lashes tends to be inside the head so if you can pull it from there it generally works out fine. There is the possibility that the paint on the underside of the eyelid might chip/flake, though. Just one of those risks, unfortunately.

    35. @PinkBear Your SP Eva is absolutely gorgeous. Love her.

    36. I got my first female MNF today, a lovely secondhand Rheia. So as I was playing with her trying to figure out styling and the like, and Ezra my Mer-boy might have fallen for her. That is to say I had him out too and they kept falling into posing together, and after a while of playing with them I got this pic.
So Ezra got a girlfriend, her name is Belladonna, and they look super cute together. X3

    37. Aw, that's so sweet :D

    38. Thank you! Yes, I didn't think hot pink hair would be that versatile but the more colorful the outfit the more I love it on her!
      Thank you <3

    39. Oh, I love love love that pink hair!!! @PinkBear

    40. For everyone who is still waiting on their orders to be shipped. Did you see ? Fairyland just posted that EMS shipping restriction to some countries has been lifted. I hope your country is in the list. Can't wait for my Carol:cheer

    41. Oh wow, I didn't know there were restrictions! I'll go look now I'm curious!!

    42. Hello!!!
The minifee moe boy body is not that popular (I think), so I'd like to ask... What are your preferred shops to get minifee moe boy clothes?

Here's the boy that needs a new wardrobe. Any help will be appreciated. :)

      • x 2
    43. Just purchased a second hand Woosoo Vampire Elf boy. This will be my first vampire sculpt, I can't wait to see him in person :celebrate

      • x 1
    44. @~A*K~ I wish I could better help you with finding outfits for your Moe boy. I have one myself, but I've modeled him to be the anime character Ciel Phantomhive. So I'm picky about his style to say the least. I have had luck with some Doll Heart outfits, and I gave him the outfit and shoes from my Jiyu full set. I also got mine normal MNF feet shortly after I ordered him, as the moe ones are just too small for me to find the right styles of shoes. I've had good luck with things sized for slim MSD/MNF, so you might try hunting through Etsy shops or looking for someone that makes custom sized doll clothing. Hope that's a little helpful.

      @KimC
Gratz on the second hand doll adoption! Vampire Woosoo boys are too cute for their own good. *speaks from experience*

      • x 1
    45. I think I might end up getting my Jiyu a moe boy body. The one he comes with has squared off shoulders and all of those definition lines that make him look too athletic for the character.

    46. I put my vampire elf Klaus in a special themed box outfit I received just recently and I'm in love! This guy is seriously one of my favorite Minifees I have, I adore his big old goofy dumbo elf ears :D I need to get him a different body, he's technically on a Fairyline body but I'm not sure I like that waist joint bit so I might just get him a motion line body someday.

    47. Oh wow, that's an amazing outfit @SuperShawol , he's amazing :)

    48. @SuperShawol - I like his freckles! He's really cute. I like the big old pointy ears too

I got my first Minifee in almost a decade when I got a Juri 19 because I just really loved her frowny mouth, and ordered a Hwayu to steal her body, but, I really liked Hwayu so she ended up staying too. Sharra is a gijinka of a very old dragon OC of mine, so the pointy ears and teeth work.

    49. She's gorgeous, @Kim I love her Faceup and her eyes, the colors are reminiscent of the night, but spunky at the same time :). Disco anyone? I won't bite!.... Much.. LOL

    50. Can I ask what everyone's opinion about FairyLand's white skin is please? I love Luha. I'm having a huge discussion with a friend.
She 's ordering white and is trying to convince me to order white to. But I'm so afraid of the color change of white skin.
I only own ns and tan dolls and I love both colors. But Luha looks nice in white too. How to decide it's really hard.

    51. It's inevitable that all resin changes color with time, though obviously keeping them out of the sun and various fluorescent light sources helps cut down on the speed and severity of the change, as does sealing it with UV cut sealant. I've had a few FL WS dolls over the years and in my experience, the 'recipe' they use for their white resin mellows pretty nicely into a kind of buttery off-white. Big improvement over what used to happen back in the day when they were still part of Luts and they turned vaguely greenish >__<
If you want the change to be less obvious as the doll gets older, avoid dressing them in white so the difference isn't so obvious.

@~A*K~ I have a moe boy and I get the majority of my minifee's clothes off of Etsy from people that specialize in slim dolls. Most things look just a tad big on him, though not absurdly so, and I find it cute, lol. Most shirts actually look totally normal on him, there's just often a bit of looseness to the waist of his pants.

    52. I wouldn't worry about it, I have 3 fairyland dolls in white skin. The most recent one (2014) still has a shade of white that looks great; the other two are older and look more yellow, but I don't mind. I'm not sure if it's the age or just the newest resin is different quality that doesn't yellow that much.

Thank you! I'll start checking options in Etsy.

Thank you to everyone that helped me!

    53. @Hakari-chan @~A*K~ Thank you so much. Can I bother you for a picture please ? That would be so great.

    54. Sure, the most recent photos that I posted on Instagram are this one and this one, but because of the filters, I can make a comparison shoot with the other WS dolls and different shadows of NS (including the super pink of 2020).

    55. @~A*K~ Thank you. She is gorgeous. Yes please I would love to see:3nodding:

    56. I have two white skin girls and I absolutely love the WS. My Liria (Wren) is from 2015 and my Chloe (Hazel) is 2018. I’m careful to keep them out of light and their resin looks beautiful. I’m sure it’s changed some Because that’s the nature of resin but its hard for me to see any real difference and it definitely does not look “yellow” to me at all. FL has improved their quality of white resin over the years so if you really like it I’d say get it!

    57. [IMG]
Here's an old picture of mine showing two white skin dolls on the left next to NS. This picture was taken in 2015, and the Mio on the far left was almost a year old. The Shushu boy is from about 2010, and you can see a bit of a difference in skin tone due to aging, but it's not a huge difference like the old Luts Minifees. I need to take newer photos of my dolls...

    58. Here's a shot I took of all my Fairyland whiteskins - I took the photo in 2017, but the colours haven't changed all that much since.
The oldest doll in this shot is my LTF El (with the horns), who I bought in 2009. The youngest doll in the shot is my MNF Chloe, whom I bought brand new in 2014, the rest of the dolls fit somewhere between the two. I find that the resin tends to go a creamier colour, rather than yellowing too much. If you like, I can always re-take the photo.

I also have two photos that I took 6 years apart, which compare the aging of my WS dolls and it includes four of the dolls in this photo - you can find the newest of the two here and the older one here

    59. @blackcat87 Thank you for your advice. I would love to see them if you have a picture. I'm moving toward white slowly.

@thakyuki Thank you so much. They do look nice and such a great comparison picture. I have a tan Mio next to my Rin she's my favorite doll. If you do take new pictures I would love to see lol.

@TeaPartyRevolution Wow thank you for the pictures. Wonderful collection. Your Cloe is already 3 years old in the picture and the color is beautiful. I like the fact they change in a softer skin tone over the years.
Only if it's not to much of a bother I would love to see a new picture. I know how hard it is to take group pictures.

    60. I can't sleep again :doh so I took a picture of my silly but powerful Gnomish wizard, Trixie. She's a spring 17 head and I adore her so much!
