    2. Your girl is lovely, @Ban Sidhe ! Such adorable shoes too.

Oh man, so I sent my mnf mirka off for his faceup a little over a month ago and Meenist just finished with him and he looks greaaaat! Can't wait to have him home and put together again! I got him brand new from the company on one of the new motion line bodies and sent him right off so I haven't had any time to play with him yet XD

Second pic on my doll tumblr

      Edit:
Also, I think someone else mentioned it earlier but FL did update their QC announcement

The fact that they've had to lay off their only real english speaking employee would definitely explain the move to selling to North America via DDE only. Using google translate to deal with customers would be hell, I can't say I blame them. Dealing with DDE won't be easy for them but at least it narrows things down for them so they're only dealing with a company representative instead of hundreds of customers.

I wonder if they had to lay off so many people because of their legal issues with that recaster trying to copyright their dolls? Fighting that in China can't be freaking cheap @___@

    3. I'm worried about recast stuff too @Hakari-chan I think they are preparing for a lawsuit?
Aaaaand your boy looks very beautiful with that face up. Congratulations!

I'm considering getting my first minifee. I'm waiting for FL to get ready again :)

    4. I was wondering, I often see people say they have seen bad dolls, but where are you guys seeing these? I feel like I'm missing something haha, because 99% of the dolls that I see, all look great. I've only seen 1 that was in a poor condition, it was a tan littlefee i believe. I'm just curious to see owner photos of all these things fairyland mentioned, like the marbling and pitting marks.
Thinking about it, I feel like fairyland is getting more hate than other companies? Not on DoA, but especially on facebook etc. And it makes me wonder if it is not being blown up more than it should be, especially by non fairyland fans. Like whenever there is a post fairyland related, I feel like the people that don't like fairyland just pop out of nowhere and always comment, but maybe thats just me haha. Especially since other companies have this policy too.

    5. I want to see pics, too. Like what happened when you had a seriously damaged doll? Did they replace it? How bad was the damage?

I definitely agree about the hate from people who don’t like fairyland. Like one person I follow on Instagram (I’m sorry if you’re reading this) called FL customers sheep, and one of her commentors called them “generic.” It was a very negative thread that was supposed to criticize the company but ended up being a bunch of people hating on Fairyland doll owners. Considering that the OP had an Etsy shop selling many minifee clothes, it seemed like poor business sense.

I hope the layoff trend doesn’t continue, I would be so sad if they went out of business.

    6. I’m sorry to hear that fairyland are having financial difficulties. I hope they manage to survive their struggles.

    7. According to DDE's response to someone I know on their Facebook — this whole "financial problem" thing isn't as dark as people think. If a company wants to focus on a certain aspect of their brand and they can't do that under their current budget, then it's just natural to cut back on things that aren't necessary. Or perhaps better put: things that aren't essential to continue business. CS in English, the availability of tan skin, etc. etc. You cut down where needed if that will allow you to focus on the work you really want to do. I think, we can hope, they've realized they've stagnated creatively and are looking to revive themselves and they just can't do it under their previous business model. I personally would prefer less flashy productions and more quality, unique dolls.

I honestly don't think there is need to worry and I truly hope — for the sake of everyone — that these changes actually turn out to mean good things for customers.

    8. I wonder what Fairyland is going to do about North American customers' points on their website? Like if we have to order through DDE, do we not get to use any points we've collected from previous orders we've made through Fairyland directly?

      • x 1
    9. I'm not North American, but that is a very good question.
Perhaps you should write to DDE and ask them about it. :)

    10. I do wish that DDE would give credit for the points. If they did, I’d have so many at this point, as I always order my FL dolls from them.

    11. I gotta say, that QC chart doesn't exactly inspire confidence. I've been eyeballing a MNF Ante for awhile now, and I know that thin resin and bad seams are somewhat common among FL's dolls, and while seams don't bother me, I am certainly thinking twice about ordering from them now. I can't afford to spend hundreds of dollars on something that may arrive to me in poor condition, or start cracking. It makes me sad.

    13. Rofl I love your judgy girl @MaudMAryFlynn XD I’ve got a woosoo girl too, she needs a lot of modding tho, I think I’ll try to get a start on her this weekend!

    14. This, exactly. In the end, they're handmade, and not all handmade items are going to be "perfect." The worst I've had is some of my smaller dolls' faceplates working loose, which is easy enough to fix with either putty or magnets. I've never been bothered by seam lines, either.

With everything that's happened, I decided that now was the time to put my first MNF on layaway. So I'll have an M-Line Chloe arriving in a few months. :) I'm also considering a Mio at some point to be a more "grown-up" version of Maddy, but I'd have to either get her faceup done or do it myself. The Queen of Hearts version just won't work for her character, although Mio herself is perfect. If they'd read my mind and made a doll based on my image of her, it could't have been closer.

    15. Well i finally placed my order last night.
After a lot of contemplation over the new QC, my internal need for a minifee, and my indecisiveness over skin colour and body lol.
I ordered Mio in BW on the boy moeline body.

I plan to call him Juniper, i already have his backstory worked out lol.

    16. What about european customers and rest on the world ? I did asked Kim on FB but didn't get a response .
Does it mean that europeans must order on DDE as well if they want to receive their item faster ?"what about quick sold out items ?:(

For me as an non US customer, DDE is too expensive , I have to pay extra fees and shipping :...(

    17. Thank you so much!, I love Woosoo too, she is very special as you say and all of them look for me like very kind girls, and your looks to me kind too, but like she was thinking about something, she is so cute and your other girl too, what is their names? *___*
I will make a group photo of my girls and will share them here^^

@Anythya and @LadyMarigal, huge congratulations on your orders, I love both Chloe and Mio!, and can not wait for them to arrive!! <3<3<3

That is a very good question, I hope we can still order through FL...

    18. Well, I think you’ll have to ask DDE, but this is a change for North America, no? Although, I suspect since they don’t seem to have a translator, it’ll be hard for you to get any customer support from Fairyland directly since they’re using an online translator from here on out?

You guys in Europe should write on the boards to suggest they find a “distributor” in Europe, like Angelesque. Or whoever you’re comfortable with. Maybe it’ll help.

    19. I know people are really thinking that you have to order through DDE now in North America, but couldn't someone IN North America just order from the fsiryland site when they open on the 15th and see what happens? I read the announcement as they encourage you to roder through DDE if you want items faster, not that you have to.

Also, the person earlier in the thread stating they don't want to order theough DDE because of only ordering once a week and waiting on mass shipments, DDE has stated that they have Fairyland dolls coming in all the time, they dont just get in what is ordered with the weekly order together anymore. On top of that, if you check out the waiting list here, DDE orders have been xoming in pretty quickly with less and less delay than ordering direct. Ao if that is your worry about ordering direct vs DDE it isnt too bad. I do get the shipping price difference though for those that worry about that and hope maybe there will be a better solution in the future.

    20. Someone earlier in the thread did get in contact with DDE on the subject, and apparently as far as DDE themselves understand it, if you're in the USA, yes, you do have to order through them now. My impression was that DDE themselves were still a little confused on the matter, which, considering FL had to lay off their only english speaking translator, I'm not surprised 8'D I understand they're trying to downsize so they can focus more on production and development but it does seem to me like the one guy that speaks english would be a good one to keep around, at least during this transition period so they could explain stuff. Apparently not, though, lol.

    21. I don't believe Fairyland laid off their only English-speaking employee, it's just that he's part time? From their blog post:
I think what this means is, is when Chris isn't available, they have to rely on Google translate.

      • x 2
    22. Yeah, I think that too, hes only part time. So hopefully he will get back to some of the questions about it once they open back up on the 15th.
I love ordering from DDE, but i definitely think they themselves are confused about the wording. I hope people are given the choice to order from where they want.

Interestingly enough though, people who ordered Fairyland dolls from DDE while Fairylands website was closed are getting notices their dolls arrived before the reopening even happened, which means Fairyland was making their DDE orders while closed, which matches up with the whole distributor gets dolls first thing.

    23. That is really interesting!!!
What has the wait time been like for FL dolls through DDE, would you happen to know???

    24. Not sure how recent you’re interested in, but I ordered a Fairyline Alicia Seahorse when she came out and I got her in two months from DDE.

    25. I ordered 3 minifee in february and they arrived at DDE in april, so around 2 months. I know a few people on instagram thay got their DDE orders within one month.

    27. Wow that's really good compared to when i last ordered from them lol.

Definitely seems like they are much much quicker than they used to be, i waited much longer on my old orders lol.

      She is so beautiful
